i know where im spending my spring break. cant get enough of that smell either, just something about this place, used to come here with my old man, need my fix of vinyl
I started going to jerry's back in 1991 when I was 11 when he was located in Oakland, very decent guy...Mr Weber....his staff is cool too...I need to visit his store very soon, its been at least a couple years....long for me...THX for the revue of my FAVORITE record shop of all time
I live 2 blocks from Jerry's and am a funk/soul/jazz addict. I don't think I'll ever move from my apartment just for the FACT that everyday I walk up Murray to get food/handle business I drop by and almost always find some new digs. He is the textbook definition of a music lover/dealer and always hooks up those who he knows will share the same passion.
I love Jerry's and go there often. My only complaint is the fact that the workers there smoke!!! I leave smelling like I went to a bar and not to buy vinyl...It also sucks when you bring your vinyl home and it smells like an ashtray!!!!!! Wish Jerry would not allow them to do this!!! But I love his store and he is a great guy!
Little hard to hear at times because Jerry's rockin' out, but this is a great piece.
Your end comment is so true - being from Pittsburgh, I have been totally spoiled by having Jerry's in my backyard. I often shop around when I travel (or when I've lived elsewhere) and come across records for $10-15 that I know I want, but that I also know I can find at Jerry's for $3-6.
Hands down my favorite place to buy vinyl anywhere. Spend 3 hours and $30 on a saturday afternoon, and you're set.
@roger24865 Buy a Pyle Professional PLTT3U if you want a great player for less than a hundred dollars! For serious listening you might want to add a Shure M97xe to it. I owned one for six months and have had no complaints.
