I went on a tour to China last November and ShangHai was one of my stops.My first impression of it was not a good one but my view changed towards the end of the journey. How I changed my view, a walk down the older part of the city enabled me to see the most beautiful scene in the city - the jostling crowd who rushed against time to make the best of their living! ShangHainese are really splendid!
Try to walk in their shoes and you will understand their mentality. Wherever you go, the pursuit of materialistic comfort is clearly manifested on every one's face. City life, so to speak!
I hope this driver should learn more somethings about the building and history of Shanghai!
