I was camping about 15 mins away at Cow Lake when the storm hit my camp and a tree fell on a little girl in her tent and pinned her under the tree it broke her back.

News came in recently that Environment Canada notified them of a possible storm at 6:05.

That was minutes after the stage was already destroyed!

I'm feeling really bad right now for the manager of the Jam and for the family of the deceased. It's so tough watching this great man just barely keeping it together. It must be really super tough for him knowing that he could have been there faster, gotten the warning out sooner etc. But, I don't blame him one bit for the one person who died, all things considering.

What a storm! I feel sorry for that lady that died. They have outdoor fairs and festivals in the USA all the time in the afternoon when the thunderheads are building!!! Baseball and auto racing get interupted all the time. But sometimes you have no place to run and not time run there!!!

So sad to hear. Last weekend I was at the Hillside music festival in Guelph that had lightening strike the festival grounds and storms roll in but luckily nothing that caused serious harm. So sorry to hear about the loss and the toll it has taken on so many.

It was a scary night! I wasn't in the concert bowl when the storm hit and I can't seem to find any video of the stage collapse. My camera was locked in a trailer in the concert bowl overnight (I left it there after working the day) - so I only got a few snapshots after the fact. My condolences to the family who lost their loved one and I wish others a speedy recovery from their injuries.

The woman that died was my cousin's mom. I wasn't there this year but my brother got some depressing pics of the damage...Crazy how one minute you're rockin out to some country music, the next...you're crushed by a massive stage collapse. Talk about a freak accident.

My condolences to you and your family for you loss. It was a freak accident. My friends were working in the concert bowl when the storm hit. No one had a chance to get to safety before that wind came in. I consider myself very lucky - I was shopping in the pavilion when it hit.

I was working with Backstage Security Services LTD (the guys with the yellow security shirts). I was at the west gate when the winds hit. I saw the stage collapse and I ran to the main stage and immediately began helping the PD, FD and EMS with the search and rescue. I was crawling under the wreckage helping to find the people who were buried. I actually just got home from working 27 hours straight providing assistance to those in need. Best of luck for those in critical condition. I need sleep.

Heard the storm shut down (temporarily) two oil refineries in Alberta. It's already hit Saskatoon as most stations are only giving out a maximum of ten liters per car.

Hum... the oil refineries were damaged in a storm 2 weeks ago... didn't hear of any further damages with this storm
