We used to get a bunch of missions like a couple every two months but once they changed the monitoring we haven't had a mission in awhile.

Im in the CAP it is awesome thing to be in... CAP is a volunteer work. The Gov. does not pay you... however it is awesome to be in something like this if your really into Aviation, not just that... but helping people out.

I wouldn't say they are more important than the military...(by the way it's part of the Air Force) The Coast Guard are the true heroes as far as rescues go.... my squadron only executes about 3 rescues a year, and if the military didn't kill people, good innocent americans would die on our own soil

@paintballer921 The Coast Guard probably does more rescues, but we have still saved people. And actually a couple of weeks ago right in my home squadron GLR-MI-131 the Coast Guard couldn't find an epirb that was going off, so they called us and we found it. All military branches need eachother.

Those are the guys and GALS, you want looking for you! There are scores of women in the CAP and they are part of every specialty including search and rescue--in the air and on the ground.
