say what you want but it just so happens Dave is the better drummer. And have even heard justice for all album? one and justice are probably the easiest songs on the cd. I own both slayer and metallicas whole discography's and have been listening to both bands since the 2nd grade. It is official Lars is mediocre. Dave is better by far. Lars could never nail songs like "behind the crooked cross", "silent scream," or "seasons in the abyss"like Dave. Lars is used to more simple beats.

@CrushJehovah in all honesty, as a drummer, i would have to aggree with you. dave is technicaly better. that said, dave would never be able to play metallica in the same way lars couldnt play slayer stuff. dave is a thrash drummer heading to death metal(real fast lots of double bass etc) where as lars is thrash drummer but you can see more of the punk influence in his playing. so yes, dave is more skilled in tech, but they couldnt play each others tracks as well. would be damn cool to see though

Here being where we post our OPINIONS, I like The Mechanix better ...harder to play and faster (being an "old school," metal head faster IS better!) but I'd have to agree with you, since Dave plays leads (and James rarely does) Dave wins. Technically Kirk is better than Dave (as far as leads go) but like Dave said "when I play, it's like my guitar is throwing up!" ...I LIKE Dave's tantrums that he calls solos!

They have played Orion a few times recently though; you just never know what they can come up with these days. No-one ever thought Jump in the Fire would ever be played live during the Madly in Anger tour, James used to hate that song.Same with Dyers Eve and Justice, the first time Dyers was ever played live it was in 2004! Justice hadn't been played in full since the Damaged Justice tour of the late 80s.

Wrong, They didnt play Justice since the 80's because one time after they got off the stage in '89, Kirk said, "We're never playing that fucking song again!" because he hated seeing the crowd yawning by the 8th or 9th minute. But they play it alot now because its much more popular. But your right, its not an easy song on any instrument, alot of different complex parts and time signatures. And thats why it kicks so much fucking ass!
