Tayra's are not officially domesticated, although they are EXTREMELY easy to domestic, and this video really shows that. They have beatufil coats, and are in the mustelid family along with skunks, minks, sea otters, ferrets, raccoons, etc. Beautiful little creatures. :)
We have a young Tayra and a baby raccoon right now. And a Might monkey 18 months ago. They live with us entirely without cages or leashes.
They are all very special, very loving and caring but please, please DO NOT consider having any of them as pets if you come across one. They have very special needs, can be extremely aggressive, will probably not go back to the wild and are very hard work.
