hi, anyone willing to help is welcome. I have a benq g2400w monitor and i am looking for something to dual screen with it. Do you think this is a good monitor to do that, if not any recommendations? Thanks in advance
i just got a 22inch monitor samsung and all i do with it its play ps3 black ops and this thing its amazing my lil bro loves it we play 3 feet away from the monitor u just feel ur in the game
@JefesupremoReturns But most gamers will want their display to be as big as possible:) With that in mind, I personally will go for 26-27" or a multi-display setup if my budget allow.
i really need to ask a some1. i wanna FASTTT gaming TV. all i want is a 24 inch with atleast 2 hdmi imput and a audio ouput. a remote so i can switch back and forth without getting up because i want to connect 2 devices. 1 of the devices is a xbox 360. i also want a 2ms response time...so does any1 have any sugest?
The 'Not optimum' issue is a pain in the ass if you are running older games and as far as I know there is no work-around. Other than that the monitor is great and Samsung has great warranty service, had to send this monitor in once for a blow capacitor on the power board -- it took a week and a half total to get it back. Not bad....
i first tout it was a tv with vga input, but no it,s a monitor with tv funktion.with even digital optional tv..
i got the ls19cfekf/en model with no manual, there is no still frame button on the remote but there was the pip button on it,but it dit,nt work so after calling the service they first informed me that it only work with dvi and componenttogether ,but it tryed with no luck,so after a recall they told me that it lacks pip function, what a loud of fucking misleading shit.
I dont get this guy. I havent seen a single review that is not positive about the product. "5 MS IS EXTREMELY EXTREMELY FAST!". No it's not...
Ofcourse it depends on the avarage ms of the screen but he doesnt say so you can't take that into account. Facts are, 5ms is not fast for a 2010 monitor.
Also, 20.000:1 contrast ratio isnt that amazing either... I guess they are sponsored by Samsung or something. Please be honest and dare to say something negative about the products you are reviewing!
@kidowner I know. If you check out my other comment I said "OK I'm sorry, it's not a 2010 Monitor. You're right about that but still, even in 2008 5ms was still slow".
Samsung does make the best LCD products to date though. You get what you pay for though, and they are expensive. But you wont regret a purchase of a Samsung LCD product, ever.
Just like IflashI said. DVI and HDMI will produce the same picture. There is no need to transfer audio to this monitor which is the only benefit you would get from an HDMI cable.
Get the 2443BW instead. It has a better looking frame without that glossy and transparent shit and ugly buttons.
"Your whole world will change, if you buy the next trendy gadget with some nice electronics and LED and stuff!" I love this reviews that are actually just advertising. So listen to this man and go for it!
I have this. High resolution is anoying, videos and pictures get smaller, regular print size turns into fine print so I keep the resolution at 1400x900. This monitor is good but no good for serious graphics work. The top the of the screen is darker then the bottom, the viewing angle is horrible, changes the color and contrast just by moving your head a couple inches. Good for a general purpose though.
Yea thats what i was worried about. I haev similar experience with my 17inch samsung lcd. Which one do you think is really good. I'm looking at 2494HM any good?
Todays TN panels are more than adequate for everything including movies and games, IPS panels are more for color accuracy for photography, for mainstream consumer use the TN panels of today are more than sufficient not to mention much more affordable compared to IPS panels IMO =]
I just picked this one up as an exchange for my defective 226BW (22") and couldn't be happier. Several picture customizations, really crisp colors, bright/contrast excellent, excellent resolution, excellent frame, 16:10, the stand is perfect (I don't need swivel or height adjustments; tilt is great). I'd recommend this product to others.
I don't get why people would get 1920x1200 when it isn't a 16:9 format i'm new with computers and that might be a really stupid question but is there any gain in getting a 1920x1200 vs getting a 1920x1080
16:9 formats are actually the standard for HDTVs. When it comes to monitors I can safely say that I saw an equal amount of people use 16:9 and 16:10.
The obvious benefit is that you get a slightly higher resolution, but at the same time you get a higher picture clarity (nvidia claims you get 2 times the picture clarity of 1080p but that's slight exagerration on their part :p). Nvidia has been investing on game developers to make 1920x1200 THE standard in gaming as well.
It's preference, if you don't feel you need it that's fine.
I personally prefer 1920x1200, the more pixels the better for me. 1920x1200 has also been around for longer with monitors so I think more older games are likely to support it. And if you're looking at pictures, a 1600x1200 picture (from 4:3 monitors) will be viewable without resizing.
double sided cord one end connects to ur lappie, and one to ur monitor, After that go to your settings and change ur screen properties if you dont know how to do so look it up on youtube :). Btw im doing the same thing your doing, got the monitor just for gaming, much cheaper and nice image
Lol @ the people giving -1, how about you research what this guy is talkinga bout before you click that -1. TN panels are the cheapest ones around. Consumers are buying cheaper and cheaper panels and they dont even know it. look into S-PVA or IPS panels.
PVA and IPS panels cost too much for the average consumer. And not all TN panels are bad. Typical TN panels have 800:1-1000:1 contrast ratio, which is okay, but not too good. You can also get higher end ones with 2000:1-4000:1 contrast ratio, and also with low 2ms response time, which will deliver about the same performance as a mainstream IPS.
I got one of those and is not that bright, in fact if you compare this model with others the samsung has the darkest image.
You forgot to mention the trouble it is to fit the stand, it took me about 30 minutes to put it, almost damaged the monitor in the process... it took me another 30 minutes to take it of
You also forgot to mention some kind of back plate that you touch the screen makes noise
@MichaelDerettef he posted that comment over a year ago. don't you know how stupid that makes your look? (not saying you are stupid, just saying don't respond to very old comments)
Im thinking about this too, wanna to get a monitor for both everyday PC use and PS3 gaming, tell me once you found something u like ok?
This monitor has a drawback, because it is 1920x1200 it actually has black bars, meaning it will display smaller than an average 1900x1080 of the same diagonal length, 24".
And it does not have a HDMI port, im not sure about the performance of a adapter.
how much is it the percentage of the problem of line of dead pixels after a month or so, reading around is quite high..it's the only thing stopping me from the aquire
I am hesitating with the LG W2453V and the Samsung 2433BW, but side to side in the store you could see right away a difference. Even if the specs are higher on the LG, The Samsung looked way better.
i didn't think your question was dumb. my answer was a joke of sorts. my own monitor is 17 inches. but seriously, you can always sit back further from the monitor, or push it farther away. when its bigger and you can push it farther away, you notice the pixels less and therefore have better quality. unless you have very little space available of course. i can adjust my monitor and my chair to be from 1 up to 4 feet apart
yea it will even work with the lower 48XX series cards, they will run it at 1920x1200 with your regular windows apps and casual games, with the lower series cards your gonna want to tone the res down on more graphic intensive games like the newest call of duty and BIA hells highway but with a 4870 or 4890 you should be good (nothing will play games like crysis on this cept for two 4890s or 2 4870x2's)
i just ordered this for my birthday and i can't wait for it to turn up. i read some user comments and herd only good things. now after watching this im really glad i chose this monitor. i can't wait for it to turn up now :D
Does it have the auto adjust button? The one that puts the display in the middle of the screen, without the black parts on edges. Like my current SyncMaster 940N has. I'm thinking of buying this screen. This or 2443BW (Pivot) and another graphics card (to support the greater resolution). I have a hd-4850 (It's pretty good. Handles everything great at 1280x1024). Should I buy another one and connect them with crossfire?
i would recomend you to buy another 4850/a 4870 as you can crossfire any card in the 48-series, if you are concidering buying a full HD monitor like this one, and you wanna play the new games out there without lag:)
I've just bought another HD4850, but I still have my 19" monitor. So I'm playing at 1280x1024. I've bought another card, because some games lagged. Mostly Fallout 3. But now that I bought another HD4850 it's no better. And now I've also got weird artifacts in Fallout 3 (mostly in the pause menu). Do you think the new card may be faulty?
does this monitor come with touch buttons? (dont really mind them). should i purchase this monitor or the ASUS VK246H? the ASUS one is 2ms but more expensive because it comes with webcam. But i really like the Samsung because of its great design. Which one would be better?
Long answer: Depends on what you're going to do really. Ask yourself if that webcam really is a must, cause those 3 extra ms wont make a huge difference, not even in first person shooters.
His not lieing about the base i just bought it 2day and i was a bitch me and my brother where pushing and shiting our selfs but it didnt brake :) it slips in

Will an hd4870 or 4890 work well with this monitor?
Orsiepompom 2 years ago
yea it will even work with the lower 48XX series cards, they will run it at 1920x1200 with your regular windows apps and casual games, with the lower series cards your gonna want to tone the res down on more graphic intensive games like the newest call of duty and BIA hells highway but with a 4870 or 4890 you should be good (nothing will play games like crysis on this cept for two 4890s or 2 4870x2's)

pls help me what monitor should i buy:
Samsung SyncMaster T240 or
Acer H243H (ET.FH3HE.002)
i would like to play pc games and ps3 games
strmole1234 2 years ago
Not this monitor. Without HDMI input, it wouldn't be worth it. Find something with at least one. Also, what graphic card do you use in your computer?
Bhinder14 2 years ago
I've ordered this (hasn't arrived yet) and am already dreading putting the stand on it,by all accounts quite the horror story.

hey guys which is much better t240 or this one?
Bogzter9 3 years ago
only one word: nice!
knaggit 3 years ago
Does it have the auto adjust button? The one that puts the display in the middle of the screen, without the black parts on edges. Like my current SyncMaster 940N has. I'm thinking of buying this screen. This or 2443BW (Pivot) and another graphics card (to support the greater resolution). I have a hd-4850 (It's pretty good. Handles everything great at 1280x1024). Should I buy another one and connect them with crossfire?
peterfaj 3 years ago
i would recomend you to buy another 4850/a 4870 as you can crossfire any card in the 48-series, if you are concidering buying a full HD monitor like this one, and you wanna play the new games out there without lag:)
kjeoy 2 years ago
I've just bought another HD4850, but I still have my 19" monitor. So I'm playing at 1280x1024. I've bought another card, because some games lagged. Mostly Fallout 3. But now that I bought another HD4850 it's no better. And now I've also got weird artifacts in Fallout 3 (mostly in the pause menu). Do you think the new card may be faulty?
peterfaj 2 years ago
At a lower resolution, such as 1280x1024 - You will find that it is more often the CPU causing the bottleneck, rather than the GPU.

does this monitor come with touch buttons? (dont really mind them). should i purchase this monitor or the ASUS VK246H? the ASUS one is 2ms but more expensive because it comes with webcam. But i really like the Samsung because of its great design. Which one would be better?
thanks
Tilan123 3 years ago
Short answer: Samsung.
Long answer: Depends on what you're going to do really. Ask yourself if that webcam really is a must, cause those 3 extra ms wont make a huge difference, not even in first person shooters.
NSS4d 3 years ago
That Asus is actually I believe 5ms, the 2ms is GtG *gray to gray*

No HDMI, so it is useless.
brolyss4 3 years ago
If the thing doesnt have speakers, then there is NO reason you would need HDMI input. Digital DVI is exactly the same.
