YES, this song does make me feel all warm and fuzzy.. from deep inside the tears that I'm forced to cry- from deep inside the pain that I chose to hide... Just walk away Renee, you won't see me follow you back home, now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes, for me it cries.
@huffthomas1 And when I see the sign that points one way The lot we used to pass by every day Just walk away, Renee You won't see me follow you back home The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same You're not to blame From deep inside the tears that I'm forced to cry From deep inside the pain that I chose to hide Just walk away, Renee You won't see me follow you back home Now, as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes For me, it cries
I love this song. I was about 4 or 5 years old when this song was popular but thanks to the magic of oldies radio I've heard this many times and consider this another favorite of mine growing up. As usual, another gem you posted and I thank you. :)

I loved Walk Away Renee. This came out the beginning of my junior year in high school. I just loved the sound The Left Banke had - it was so beautiful and was such a departure from any other songs of that time. What can I say but to thank you for posting a wonderful song which I remember with such clarity and which came along at a very special time in my life. Thank you for this lovely post. :)
@gva0917 I was just starting high school then, so this one brings back very special memories as well :) You're so right about the unique sound...they call it baroque rock because of its incorporation of classical music. The Moody Blues had a similar sound. It's just sad that we don't hear anything like this today :(

Just walk away, Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
Now, as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me, it cries
Your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall
Still finds a way to haunt me though they're so small
Just walk away, Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
You're not to blame
