  • I experience a massive tension in my elbow when doing the exercise as shown. Has anybody else had that problem? Is there a better way for the joints to do the exercise?

  • @TheFreshbum I have faced it too. I have asked other people as well and they say its kind of normal feeling pressure in your elbow joints while doing this but don't lift too heavy and you will be fine.

  • @MrHamzaSuhail for me the solution is to do other exercises for my triceps. Because I don't wanna lift less than I could.

  • @TheFreshbum It's perfectly fine to not fully extend your elbow to perform this exercise (in fact, I heard it's better for you due to less risk of tendon and ligament strains). If you have weak joints, then just extend your arms right before you feel the elbows lock.

  • @andrewyang1993 i feel the most tension when my arms are in the starting position. Pushing movements have always worked way better for my triceps than this exercises where you kinda pull.

  • @TheFreshbum I think the problem is that you have weak ligaments and/or tendons in your elbows. There are specific exercises to increase the strength and elasticity of them. I advise you to do these exercises daily (search them up, they're very lightweight) and do lighter loads on the actual workout.

  • @andrewyang1993 thanks a lot man, I should really try that out. I think my ligaments and tendons are a main factor that hold back my further growth...I had problems with my shoulders (I now know what I did wrong) --> tendons. I have pain in my left knee as we speak, but it's not from heavy squats (which funny enough don't hurt at all, even now) it's from running slowly...it's my tendons as well, so I think those exercises you mentioned are a great help for me...thanks buddy.

  • @mrdstar93 Are your arms leaning back too far? Usually if that happens you're using too much weight. Also, it's possible that your shoulders/delts could be weaker than your triceps for now. It's hard to say. Check your form with a lighter weight and just work your way up.

  • @dgmojojojo No you are mistaken. It is a triceps isolation exercise. Thus working only triceps. You would not chose this exercise to develop your chest or anything else that isn't triceps for that matter.

  • @hardrock4eva it would be isolation if he did it right he positioned his hands wrong so hes using some lats and shoulders, this should not be used as an instructional video

  • Scott i bought some whey, and have only used it twice. Unfortunately it made me have symptoms such as not being able to sleep, heart racing, and burping problems. How can you drink whey when it doesn't seem safe? or is it just not for all people?

  • Scott, maybe it's time to do a video where you explain some of the posture terminology you regularly use, like "neutral spine", "neutral grip", etc. That way questions can be directed to yet another helpful Scott Herman video.

  • Hey Scott I've got this Q' when you wanted to increase your body weight did you still got like the 6 pack or did you grew up all your muscles and then start getting lean..Ive got this problem of increasing my arms my chest shoulders and legs but when i change to small carb amounts get lean as hell and loose muscle I've won in 3 weeks just in 4 days....Do i need to eat too much so I am kind of big workout a lot and then try again or whaaat??

  • @carlosdownhill when body builders want to get really buff they eat as much as they can and take in alot of calories and work out like crazy. Then soon before the show they start eating less and loose the fat around there muscles and then they look more toned and muscular. Even though they loose wait they still look bigger because you can see there muscles more.

  • @carlosdownhill you need to eat a high protein diet when you're cutting. but if you arent a bodybuilder you shouldnt mess up your eating by having a lot of food, then cut it out. just eat lean and clean all year round.

  • i tried this before but soon realize that my tricep muscles are not as strong as the other one so this exercise won't do much for me, i find one arm overhead triceps extensions work better for me
