Keith Emerson has improved the quality of my life and inspired me to play piano, but all that is seen is the music and grumpy clashing egocentric ELP personalities. So good to see a little of the personality of the man behind the music. Thanks Gandalf71!
@MrPaulGunn Keith Emerson changed my life entirely when i saw him with The Nice in the mid sixties too - so much so that I immediately started taking piano lessons, then with much practice to make up for lost time, soon I became a keyboard player with my own Hammond organ- that was 40 years ago, and I am still playing my Hammond C3 - Thanks Keith . . . . . .
Phenomenal! There just are not enough documentaries about Keith, produced.
This man changed music, for all time, with the keyboard(s), in the most phenomenal way. Someone needs to do more of these with Keith! Thanks a TRILLION for posting this, Gandalf71, THANK YOU!
Thanks! Some great pieces on that record, I've transcribed quite a few of them. I like the slow ones best - Vagrant, Outgoing Tide, Interlude, Ballade for Common Man.
Can never get enough of this. He's the greatest ever on keyboards. I've seen him numerous times. I still would like to see him in concert, with his bad right hand and all. Keith, do the tour anyway.
No Keith, "Fanfare for the Common Man" reached no 2 in Britain in 1977 and it was kept from No 1 by Donna Summer's "I Feel Love". New song title maybe called "Losing Touch" yes Keith you certainly are now with regards to Britain.

Thank you for posting this... always interesting to hear the man describing his music in his own words.
And, I agree - where did you find this? I'm pretty up on most things Keith, and this is a new one for me.
Cheers! :)
