One last thing. Conceptual theory would tell you that competition will lead to the lowest costs. This whole focus has changed with not enough paying attention. Health Care companies are no longer in competition for the business of their patients. They are in competition to maintain/retain STOCK HOLDERS. Such can only be achieved through competition for profits at any expense. WE are the beneficiaries of such and the financial raping that accompanies it.
we will be in the history books as a fallen nation. Greed of the large wall street interests in our health care system does NOT amount to Democracy for the majority of the nation. Since when are we okay with profit lying between our doctors diagnosis and the road to treatment? Obamas plan was the only one that can stop this, is an exact duplicate of Englands system in which cost's citizens $25.00- $90.00/ mo. w/no historic shortfalls. PROFIT is OUT of the picture!
You hear so much about the mandate requiring ALL Americans to purchase Health Care. If something is purposely omitted from such it can be considered a lie, correct? Why are we not hearing anything about the many categories of people exempt from the requirement to carry Health Care? It basically amounts to anyone who truly cannot afford it. I have actually printed that text and read it for myself. If we do not empower the people and reverse the trend of large financial interests in health Care...
Any system that continues to exploit every ounce of Americans financial resource in the name of profit will destroy the lives of Americans and the Country. The private sector on its own will NEVER dicide to lower its demand for larger and larger profits. Health Care in the hands of the private sector empowers wall street interests and nothing less. There is only one way to change this and THAT is exactly what Obama had in mind.
If the only power and voice the people can have to level the playing field freeing them of the chains of the elite interests is government, then so be it. I say this! Governmental powers at any level to protect each and every citizen is much more democratic than a system that empowers a few to control the majority. With this in mind I would say it is actually evil intent for profits that cause the very need for larger governmental controls. THIS is what the majority was asking for of Obama.
The public option would have forced health care to be all about something other than profit. To state that competition will bring down health care costs is an absurdity given the history and showing of the past. It's a perfect example of something that sounds conceptually wonderful but has dire consequences on the people. If you give specific entities the power to care about people or to sacrifice them for profit, what is it they will do? This we call freedom for a few.
Health Care cost's for Americans has eliminated their ability to own their own homes. Health Care costing Americans 25-30% (and more considering co pays and their portion of an 80/20 plan) of their income is a cost our successful predecessors were never faced with. Given they had the same cost's we do today there are many today that are considered to be successful that would not have been. This is where fairness and leveling the playing field comes into play.
What you have to say here is conceptually wonderful. However, there are some flaws and I would ask you to open your mind a little further? When an American President comes along who wants to implement things that counteract the lack of the very freedoms you speak of, further thinking might suggest you're actually ensuring those lack of freedoms.
Obamas Health Care Plan was designed to eliminate the financial burden Americans are faced with.
