The obligations of the US gov't are approx 75 trillion dollars (in 2008 dollars) this equates to $250,000 per man/woman/child in the USA. If you had a child today they would owe 250k!

Demagogy. Obama just adds liquidity to the money market. Essentially, no money means no jobs. Period. If bank system fails completely, nothing will help this country from falling to chaos. Some amount of money will go to tax breaks and rebates, so people will have their stake as well. The question is how and where this money will be taken from... None of other countries actually send rebate checks directly to people. They all bail out their own banks and businesses. US is not an exception.

Here's the conundrum: If the government stops printing money and giving bailouts then everything falls apart relatively quickly. If they continue printing money and giving bailouts, everything still falls apart down the road and we have hyperinflation because the fundamentals of our lending system have become unsound. The million dollar question becomes; How far is "down the road", 6 months, a year, 2010, 2012? However long we've got better be spent preparing. There is nothing else we can do

Sorry if I came off harsh. I just enjoy emphasizing the greatness of the constitution. Remember the federal govt is only a manifestation of the states. It has no concrete existence. The states granted the powers to the federal govt and if they choose they may take away those powers as well!
The federal govt will NEVER have greater authority than the states. Although they try to. That is why we are seeing the exericising of the 10th amendment. It'll be fun to watch this play out. : )
