@wfortier502 ? im aware of that. i was informing jesse that just because it has a turbo doesnt mean it has to be a 94. and some 93s did have a factory turbo as well
TBWdracula2003... You go ahead and run your truck hot like that. Heat in diesel engines eats power big time. You will not convince anyone who has experience with em so stop trying man, your wrong
with a diesel when you put more fuel to the engine it gives it more power, and in turn blows black smoke. because diesel is an oil and not a solvent like gasoline it has a tendency to smoke any way. but for a diesel engine to have more power it will blow black smoke unless you want to dump a ton of cash into turbo's and tuning on the newer diesels
yea it is. infact the first diesel truck to ever get in to the 10 sec 1/4 mile and 9 sec 1/4 mile was a 7.3 sleeved down to a 6.9 and p-pumped with a twin turbo setup. another thing ford was a first in..
hey "houseofdiesel" no I dont run a hypermax turbo, I am not poor. How does 750 rwhp and 1050 in torque sound? Yeah I got money and brains....not to mention a bad ass rig.
750hp and 1050ft lbs of torque sounds kinda off key to me. What kind of truck is it? With Hp that high in any of the big three diesel's, torque should be a little higher.
Where is your badass rig? I would like to see it, i bet its impressive. And to answer your question, 750hp and 1050 torque sounds made up to me. After all, thats a pretty shitty amount of torque for a badass rig like yours. 400hp should yield 800ft/lbs of torque.. and so on. You should be getting close to 1500 torque. Maybe it is you that has a shitty turbo, or do you really own a diesel at all?
o.o yeah im guessing you have money but no brains. because if you spent enough on a diesel to get 750hp it would have more like 12-1300 lb ft of torque. unless you just spent alot of money on name brand parts because of the name.
you are a stupid child... all you get by "turning up" the pump is black smoke. You have a teeny weeny non-existent turbo. Good luck at the fuel pump moron. Did the stacks make your truck faster too? Remember this kiddo... Black smoke = wasted power.
What he needs is a shot of nitrous. The stacks lower EGTs, exhaust gas temperature, which increases the life of the engine and gets better milage. Black smoke is when you are burning too much fuel. If I were you I would turn back the pump intil you get some better airflow.
Lower EGT cause less power... cooler gases move slower, hot move the fastest... So your not getting better milage by anymeans, your causing hesitation, rather than free-flowing... hence way 4" dual's reduce power than 2.5" duals on most cars... 3" is pushing the limit unless you Big Blocked...
You are not taking into account the size of the turbo and pipes leading up to it. That creates plenty of backpressure trust me. 3'' is not near the limit, my LMM dmax came stock with 4 cause the emissions equip. caused more backpressure. The engine can only move exhaust through the turbo. Even if you had an 18 inch exhaust, it wouldnt matter unless your turbo was a different size. Try reading up on diesels a little bit, its a whole different ballgame.
thats kinda true in a n/A gas motor but a turbo diesel motor cooler egts are better dumbass. a diesel is designed to run at cooler tems than a high reving gas motor
@ctownpowerstroke what planet are you from diesels hate the cold thats why there such a bitch to start in the winter epecially these old oness are hard to keep at temp and they run like shit
they dont like to start in the cold. they run just fine in cold weather as long as the fuel isnt jelled and there at opperating temp.. besides i said they run better at cooler motor temps than hotter Ex better at 290 than 350. any motor runs beter at cooler temps. think about being at a drag strip a cooler day you get beter times.
@ctownpowerstroke holy hannah. who is going to let their truck reach those kinds of numbers? if it gets that hot you've got problems. aka blown head gaskets nuked turbo(s) and the oil is so thin you might as well run water to put that engine out of its misery.
@TBWdracula2003 it was an example number dude. but was about 150 degrees or so high lol. but the point is cooler operating temps and cooler egts are better
@ctownpowerstroke the hotter you can run a diesel and still be within the temps of not take the head gasket out the better, sure the low egt's are good but if your runnin 1000* egt's its gonna be runnin like tits compared to 300* egt. because of the fact that they run on compression and you cant have it too cold. diesels love heat. the hotter ( to a point ) the better. so its kind of a happy medium that you have to find.
Have you ever ran a Hypermax Turbo? He clearly stated that in his description. If he posted video of it smokin down the road, then you can call someone stupid. But when someone gets really excited about their new turbo and adds some fuel to it to go with the added boost, and posts some vid of it PARKED cause it sounds bad ass....you look stupid. Or do you have some kind of special turbo in your rig that spools the turbo in park without your foot on the brake?
i love the fact that, that is true i can cloud people out going up a hill and then let off and go right back to getting 17.5 with 300k miles on the motor
YUou don't gain milage at all you retard... slow moving EG's cause by the low EGT result's in hesitation in the exhaust... the stack cool that gas to fast for it to be any more free-flowing...
Learn how to spell will ya. Look dick we where referring to the programming not exhaust. Did some one just tell you that, so now your running through all the threads like you've always known. We put stacks on our rigs to keep the unburnt fuel off the side of our trucks. And 3" looks gay, most of us know that we loose power but it's what fits the look of your truck. The way I see it is for street 5-6 is cool but after that your just compensating unless Ur over 700 RWHP.
You are partially right. But i think your confusing this with a gasoline engine. Im not sure what blazervette is supposed to mean but it looks like you are in the wrong vid section, you shouldnt be telling people how to do things.. move on over to the gas rigs.
Im gettin a turbo off a factory turbo 7.3 idi will it work on my factory n/a 7.3 idi

haha it just looks cool the smoke is unburned fuel. in most cases its not doing their engine much good
SunShine0147 2 years ago
@SunShine0147 white smoke is unburnt fuel, black smoke is fuel burnt with too little oxygen so u get:
HxCx + O = CO + H2O + C (carbon-black) with correct amount of oxygen u get:
H2O + CO2.( also some oxygen is unused near outer edges of chamber.)
the reason overfuelling gives more power is that is allows the use of perimeter oxygen as diesels always run excess air.

that's because the air is thicker on cooler days. On hot days the air is thin and your engine isnt getting as much. But yeah, the cooler the better.

@weeman516
earth.
diesels run better at cooler temps because air is more dense, its like having higher inlet boost pressure; why do u think intercoolers improve power?
If thermostat is working they should always get upto temperature apart from really cold arctic weather.

how do you turn her up?
hayabusa122 3 years ago
1/4 inch socket and an allen wrench
predracer04 3 years ago
but can you do it on a DI powerstroke?
hayabusa122 3 years ago
Nope, well you need a chip to turn up the fuel, as it's electronically controlled, where as the IDI is mechanical.
predracer04 2 years ago
aight man...juss thought id ask....im gettin a chip here this week so yeah
hayabusa122 2 years ago
you need to take the cover plate off the front to allign the timing dowel first and that takes a half inch, the allen wrench will be a 5/32
