  • Cabs and speakers?

  • Hmmm. Tone. Not just berzerko distortion. I'm not used to that on YouTube!

  • Solid tone bro!! I just got my quickrod and I'm loving it!

  • Amazing tone man!

  • I really enjoy your tone.

  • NIce melodic style and vibrato.

    Beautiful Les Paul.

  • Are some of those licks arpeggios?

  • I think you just confirmed my decision on the AZ for my LP...

    Sweet tone/playing :D

  • What kind of DiMarzios did you install?

  • Airzone(bridge)

    Air norton(neck)

    cheers Mick..

  • Dang dude you shoulda kept goin, I couda listened to that for an hour, seriously.

Awesome tone, nice feel in your licks

(with some extra embelishments of course, lol )

I like your vibrato technique, very pronounced.

You made my mind up regarding Splawn amps!!!

    Thanks for posting this.

  • I think the best modern guitarists of today and the past as well have both musical knowledge combined with chops that blow your mind. This video of the Boz is a perfect example of such traits. Just a sweet performance of guitarical excellence in articulation, vibrato, and overall guitar showmanship.

  • Thanks very much cryptonet007..

  • I second that. Really good vibrato, which believe it or not, many guitar players completely ignore how to do virbrato correctly and they just wank it off when they think it should go somewhere. I like how you hold the note for just a second, THEN bring in the vibrato. Very professional sounding.

  • May I ask did you use 500k pots with the les paul?

  • Not sure whats in there to be honest.

  • @mi2tom

all humbucker fitted guitars have 500k pots as 250k pots will make the humbucker sound shit

  • @dumapies Not true! A few of my LPs and SGs have 300K pots in the bridge to warm up the bridge pickup. You sound inexperienced? Many great guitarists with great tone have used stock LPs with 300Ks. I bet in a blid test you couldn't hear the difference between 300Ks and 500Ks.

  • @dumapies My PRS knockoff had 1 Meg pots and sounded pretty kick ass.

When it comes to guitars, just because something is standard doesn't make everything else shit. It just makes everything else unconventional.

  • great playn bro! im gettn the nitro soon!!

  • Incredible, man! Very tasty licks and tone! How much does Scott Splawn charge new for a Quickrod?

  • A new Quick Rod sales for $1850.00. I own a Quick Rod and believe that they could sale for twice as much easily. There is not an amp close to it for that kind of money.

  • Yeah. After asking I wound up doing some research. Considering you can get all sorts of custom finishes/headshells too, it's an awesome deal. I payed more for my Mesa (stock!) than that.

  • i also would like to know the backing track

    thanks

  • Send me your email and i'll post it to you..cheers Mick.

  • wow awesome sound!!!!!! great job!

  • Cheers!

  • thats some sick playing and tone!!! i always wanted a splawn! where can i get this backing track?

  • Thanks, send me your email and i'll post it to you..cheers Mick.

  • hey could i get this type on tone with my Jcm800+ a sd-1?

  • Yeah. I think it would sound something in that style. Use some gain in the amp and usse the SD-1 to boost the amp.

If you got manual, there are settings for boost:

    Level: 10/10

    Gain: 0-1/10

    tone: what you like.

Cool video bro. What kind of LP is that?

  • Thanks,its a Standard..i put Dimarzio's in it..

  • What pot did the lespaul come with? 300k pots?

  • quickrod sounds great with that LP. My QR is on order and should be here in the next few weeks. I cannot wait to put my LP Custom through it. GREAT VIBRATO!!!!

  • i want a job so bad so i can get one of those quickrods...

  • Sounds great!

Where can I buy a cool strap like yours?

  • Always love hearing this vid....

  • Brilliant tone & playing! What pickups are in that Les Paul? Thanks!

  • Thanks,the pickups are Dimarzio's---Airzone(bridge) Airnorton(neck)..

  • Man, awesome tone and playing. I'm looking hard at buying the QuickRod. I saw your comment below that this was in OD2. Which gear are you set at? Also curious with this amp being 2 channel if you can get a great powercord/rhythm tone along with a great lead tone without switching settings or gears. I would like to set and forget. I know this is personal taste, but what do you think? Your lead tone is awesome, just curious on what power chords sound like at this same setting. Thanks!

  • Thanks onceguilty,my Quickrod is the older version without the gears but i think the setting on the clip would be OD2 gear2,power chords sound huge on any setting on this amp.I really cannot fault this amp at all! cheers Mick.

  • Thanks Mick. That's what I wanted to hear. Only $450 to go and I'll have my Quickrod!

  • Great playing and great tone!

  • wow great playing man! I the same Les Paul but with burst Bucker Pro's and it sounds amazing.

  • Hey- Just need a clarification...you put the volume pedal in the effects loop? BTW-great playing and awesome tone. Was the amp on set 50 watts? What speakers are you using?

    Steve

  • Thanks Steve, yeah the volume pedal is in the loop.Amp was on 50 Watts, speakers are celestion G12t-75s.I run the treble off and the presence at 9 o'clock.

  • Did you pull tubes out or just use the half-power switch?

  • I just use the half power switch.

  • are you using an attenuator? im thinking of getting one of these amps, but i only play at home. how can you handle such a beast amp at home?

what channel are u using here?

  • I use a volume pedal in the loop so i can run the amp at gig volume but tame it with the pedal, works great!

    channel is OD2..

  • what gauge are those strings?

  • 10-46.

  • Sounds AMAZING. Let's see some more!! And I need echo everything Kyemack45687 says, especially that harmonic at :41. That was MONEY!!! Awesome.

  • Nice delay on the DD-3. Care to share roughly what settings you were using at the time?

  • Sure,

    effect level 10.30 oclock

    feedback level 10.00 oclock

    delay time 11.30 oclock

    800 ms setting

    cheers Boz..

  • Awesome tone and very tasty playing. Snaking around the beat in just the perfect way. All class.

  • I have 5 things to say:

    1. You are NOT helping my Splawn QR or LP GAS.

    2. You have great tone.

    3. Your vibrato is killer.

    4. That pinch harmonic you grab at :41 is MONEY.

    5. What model LP is that and what pickups are in it?

    Great clip!

  • Thanks man,its a Gibson Les Paul Standard with a Dimarzio Airzone(bridge) and Dimarzio Airnorton(neck).cheers Boz..

  • Oh man...that's it, that's the tone I've been looking so hard for. I'm going to have to drive down to Oxford to test these Splawn amps out at Rebel Amps.

Sweet playing, sweet tone....Are you running straight in? Any effects?

  • Thanks waylay00,the only effect on this clip is a Boss DD-3 delay in the loop..cheers Boz.

  • Nice playing, amp and video man

  • Can you

Great playing and phrasing. What speakers are you using in your Marshall Cab with the QR?

  • Thanks Gearboy, speakers are celestion G12T-75s..but i put a bit of tape on the grill cloth over the centre of the speaker to reduce the highs a touch..

  • hahaha....the SRV trick! Nice. I heard the 75's are a decent match for the QR. I have V30's in my Bogner cab and I think there is too much high mid with the QR.

  • NICE!

  • Great phrasing and technique. I just ordered my splawn competetion head, what power tubes did you go with?

  • Thanks man,EL34s for me!!

  • Sweet and Fat

  • some great playing there

  • sounds great bro.... Splawns own!!

  • Thanks for the kind words guys!

  • killer phrasing, something a lot of people on youtube could do with taking note of..

  • Sweet penatonic blues, nice vibrato too!

  • Awesome man!

  • Nice job, fellow Splawn owner!

  • nice playing and tone! very melodic
