The French Version is way better ;)

  • hey,i saw the movie,it is really awesome

  • :)

  • They put this episode as the movie AHAHHH SO FRGGIN COOl

  • holy crap this brings back memories.

  • The live action French films made in the early 60s are nice, and the stop-go animated production of Crab with the Golden Claws from 1947 is a real doozie. This, however,,is witless and dull.

  • 1:51-2:18, I can see why they used that part for the theme song for the movie.

  • Herge at 5:42

  • This show is cheesy

  • @Alyzabeth1990 Alright buddy, we got it. You don't enjoy the show.

  • I watched this as a baby. Little did I know of his gayness

  • @Alyzabeth1990 "Gayness"?

  • "I'm saury" :O

  • dollars in Europe whats the deal with that

  • @Blakefe The people who made the show are Canadians, easier for Canadian children, let's deal with that.

  • I didn't know he was American....I think I like him better with a English accent. Still really good though!

  • this is much like the jackson/speilberg movie in 3d(fantastic movie it was.)

  • Oh god i miss being a kid

  • I saw the 2011 movie as well it was epic!

  • I saw the 2011 movie! :D

  • Now I see that he already knew Captain Haddock before this adventure. In the movie they know each other during it. Can somebody tell me how Tintin and the Captain first met in the cartoons?

  • @avncamargo Tintin and Haddock first met in Crab with the Golden Claws, which was combined with Unicorn for the movie. It's a pretty good book.

  • @georgekostaras Thanks, man. It was really helpful.

  • @avncamargo Ask and ye shall recieve

  • @georgekostaras this should be 'ask and you could receive', i dont get what i want often.

  • @ThePhil909 I like to follow a different policy than most

  • @georgekostaras owwhhhh good answer, i see u have watched alot of tintin with that answer lil

  • @ThePhil909 I have watched a lot of Tintin :) I've also read all the books. So if you have any tintin questions just come to me.

  • @georgekostaras wel then i hope you have watched the 3d movie, its brilliant! of course new it would be with our top director peter Jackson(n.z) oh and steven Spielberg.and iv got the wii game(on dolphin emulator ) its heaps of fun. nice page to i see u like the animation like me.

  • @BigBearfromthe206 They would have done a live-action movie, but Spielberg had a problem of finding a dog to play Snowy's roles, since it' would have been to hard and dangerous for the dog(s).

  • @Sweetmervs- this story, Red Rackham's Treasure and Crab with the Golden Claws were the basis for the film, which when I saw it was simply called The Adventures of Tintin.

  • Yeah I love the movie.

Only better ones are Puss In Boots and Rio

  • I just saw the movie and it was awesome.

  • Just look up TinTin Cartoons

  • I saw the movie and i have to say it was a bit better than this. Ps: tintin is hawt XD

  • The illustration is spot on but the voices kill it.

  • @BigBearfromthe206 The original voices are great.

  • Wow, that new movie is really sticking to it!

  • and tintin is supposedly to be british.(well he doesnt have to.)

  • THIS IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED.NO REALLY.IM NOT KIDDING. SAW THE NEW MOVIE.3D.AWESOME.TINTIN IS HAWT IN THE MOVIES.LOVE ALL 32?COMICS.

  • I LUV tintin series!i grew up readin tintin adventures....i luvd hw a young reporter turns out 2 b adventuroz ....n snowy,,i luv dat dog.....nw my sis reads d sam series ,even she luv tintin books.its jst avsom.

  • "White male" - Thompson wow, racial profiling by police in Belgium!

  • hello i'm 12 and this cartoon is really good!

  • Newscaster: "There appears to be an increase in pickpocketing activity. Police are baffled. The most frequently stolen items are men's wallets."

    *reads next page*

"In other news, Europe is experiencing its slowest news week in years...."

  • The Thom(p)sons sound Australian to me

  • @TicklishCaptiv3 , lol, I've always thought they were stereotypically the dark-suited Englishmen (but with a bit of buffoonery) but you're right, they do sound Australian.

Or Cockney? Sometimes find it hard to differenciate the two, esp. if they talk very quickly.

  • I wish they used the opening theme music of the cartoons for the movie.

  • I always get excited when the rocket scene in comes.. with that music score, best.. intro.. ever.

  • thumbs up if "The Adventures of Tintin" movie brought you here

  • huh, i never knew the movie was a remake! but i tell ya they remade this pretty damn good! the animation in the remake looks like real people

  • cool, but in the new animated one, he didnt meet haddock until he was captured on the boat.

  • i love this, thank you!

  • man this brings back some memories i used to watch this when i was a kid

  • Please upload more videos, this is my childhood :')

  • more please i love these

  • more?!?!?!?!!?

  • If you love this, youll love the movie. I suggest 3D too if you can

  • I LOVE Tintin and this show is awesome! but what bothers me is that in the show Tintin has an American accent and the currency mentioned is dollars not pounds as was in the book.

  • @Fiercetigerlover as so in the new movie thats out.....hmmmm

    but i love TinTin!!!

why is he american in the episodes, but british in the movie?

    i dun know

but I think everybody sounds better when they talk in the british accent

just sounds better for the characters

  • @SharkToothe13 actually the voice for him in the cartoon was a Canadian I think not sure.

  • @Fiercetigerlover

I'm pretty sure this was because the show eventually aired in the USA, and many American kids didn't know who Tintin was (before this and the new Speilberg movie), and they probably also wouldn't know the difference between pounds and US dollars.

I like this show, but I do agree that Tintin sounds better with a British accent (Like in the new movie)

  • Comment removed

  • I must admit... Tintin everything about him is just legendary. Herge would have been proud of the legacy he left behind

  • Hearing about the movie brought me here! I've hadn't watch this cartoon in years!

  • This show is amazing, and the movie was too... Except noones English in the show.... And by that I mean england ppl

  • I LOVED THE MOVIE!!! i watched it like 4 times, and it always gets better!!! TOTALLY EPIC!!!!

  • i have all the books and all of these on DVD, i'm very happy :)

  • I promised myself I would never repeat qoutes for they do get a tad bit annoying but I couldn't resist!

  • Thanks so much for uploading!! And please upload more! I just saw the 2011 movie today and it was AMAZING so I was so interested to see what the original was like :)

  • i love how they put most of this in the movie....... but its a little confusing

  • in the movie its sorta confusing.

  • "I thought it would be a good present for captain haddock" What? He didnt meet him unitl later in the book.

  • @marioluigi344 Tintin meets captain Haddock in "The Crab with the Golden Claws" which is two books earlier than this episode.

  • oh lord the memories..-single tear-

  • Thank you for posting!! :D:D

  • please please post more!!!!

  • Great snakes!!!!!!

  • 05:40

Herge talking to the maid, he appears in all episodes ...

  • 2011 that is..what a treat !

  • You just can't not LOVE the simplicity of design: the threads to the comics: all a tribute to the original art...which is beautifully worked out in the opening scenes of the 2012 movie.

  • @blueshifter HOW DARE YOU!!!

  • This looks like crap, this is the worst motion capture I've ever seen!

  • @blueshifter Well, think of how long ago this was made! Though, some people have this in their childhoods (I don't, watched the movie and that's it.) But its all what you call "Good motion capture."

  • People are saying that the film was inaccurate compared to the comics, but they did have to make one story out of three comic books, and I think they really kept the adventure and spirit of the comics and the characters. Not to mention I really just like their screenplay. I think it was very well written for the most part. Perhaps a re-watch when I can shall show up some flaws I did not see on the first viewing.

  • After that 10 minutes....

    ..I'm in love :D

  • @Ecofreak96 , welcome to Tintin, my friend! ;D

  • Cartoon vs. New movie: new movie wins, but cartoon is just as good.

  • I love this movie! And the one that just came out that looks almost real

  • GOD BLESS THE GINGER!

  • The movie was a mix of this storyline and what other one? The golden crab or something?

  • @TwoStupidGirlsYT The Golden Crab, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham's Treasure.

  • OMG Captain Haddock! Yay!

  • That hold movie could have gone faster if only they'd had google. LOL.

  • The movie, even though, It was horribly unaccurate, Was amazingly good.

  • arrh the days before mobile phones were so peaceful

  • This Cartoon started out in the 60's

  • This is basically the movie :I

  • I loved the reimagining of Sarkhine that was in the movie. He was an awesome villian

  • I have to read the comic i saw volumes on sale at my local book store.

  • Is it possible to find this one in french?

  • Ivan Sarkhine is the main antagonist of this episode and movie, he was a decedent of the pirate lord Red Rackham, but was killed by Haddock's ancestor on the Unicorn.

  • i remember watching these in french class when i was in grade 2, that must of been 8 years ago

  • @QuaziGNRLNose lol, you must be Canadian, i was about to say the same thing. my brother and i even watched it on the french channel. we were sitting there wondering why we could remember LOVING tintin, but couldnt actually remember what happend in any of the plots. then it hit us. of course! just like every good cartoon when we were children, it only came on on the french channel, thus we only understood bits and peices here and there.

  • The music and acting in this is brilliant. Spielberg could of at least kept the music. The movie was inaccurate but still good though.

  • Great Snakes!

  • I LOVE YOU

  • the weird part is Sacarin was the main villan in the movie, yet hes only a minor character in this

  • GREAT SNAKES!!!

  • Ahh nostalgia is the best

  • What most people don't know is that TINTIN was a huge kids book series in Europe in the 30s and 40s. Most of the actor said in there interview that they read them as a kid and/or have read them to there kids.

  • @EvilTim001 i ONLY knew Tintin as a kids book growing up in Africa :)!

  • @EvilTim001 Wait most people didn't know that? That's sad.

    *continues reading Tintin*

  • I can't believe it Peter Jackson is not even original. If you want to see TinTin the movie it is just this four part episode in 3D. Don't waste your money. I animation is nice but the story is a bore

  • @artistmanD1 well this was adapted from the comic

  • I haven't seen this in years! Thank you soo much.

  • whys he american accent

  • @SlapstickCoyote Would you rather hear him with a van damme accent?

  • @cutecutedemons he's supposd to be british

  • @SlapstickCoyote - No..he's supposed to be Belgian, as his author, Herge. But this was a Canadian production so he has a north American, Canadian-ish accent.

  • I always loved Tintin as a child. I grew up watching these. And I just got back from watching the new film. It was so true to the story and spirit of Tintin. It was absolutely wonderful because now another generation can get to learn Tintin. Just as people did with the books many years ago and then I did with this series.

  • @AndrewPoet Bravo sir

  • The movie was inconsistant with the show and comics. How could TinTin have just met the Captain in the new film when they were on pretty much every adventure before it?!

  • @365ral that's not all that true. Captain Haddock was first introduced in "The Crab with the Golden Claws". the movie just skipped over "The Shooting Star" in favor of "Secret of the Unicorn" and "Red Rackham's Treasure". besides, the movie had to cram 3 books into an hour and 40 minutes worth of a movie. That's why Spielberg had three screenwriters to condense 3 books into the movie.

Actually read the books before you nag.

  • @Volts48 I did used to read many of the comics when I was a kid. The movie implied that this was a continuing story after much of Tintin's adventures, and since the Captain WAS in most of Tintin's adventures, it struck me as a plot hole. But with someone like Peter Jackson and Stephen Speilburg, telling more than one book in a film makes more sense. I apologize if I rubbed off the wrong way.

  • @365ral

The movie was based off of three of Heregé's stories, The Crab With the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham's Treasure. It was an adaptation of the three stories to introduce Tintin and characters like Captain Haddock and Bianca Castafiore.

  • John Stocker FTW!

    AmDrag

  • I came here cuz the movie :P
