Comparing the two just because they are both youth series is actually ridiculous as they are different subgenres. The Hunger Games is action and plot driven with romance as a side part. It also draws you in instantly. Twilight is a romance series only and it took forever to get over Bella's lack of personality. You may want to shake Katniss sometimes but it's for having too strong of a personality rather than lack of independent thought. If a comparison must be made The Hunger Games wins for me.

I think that the Hunger Games i better because there is a very soulful meaning behind it. All Bella wants is for herself to be happy with her perfect vampire boyfriend, but her mega hot werewolf boyfriend keeps getting in the way. All Katniss wants is for her family to be safe and she doesn't really care a lot for Peeta or Gale as a boyfriend.
I really hate how everyone compares the hunger games and twilight (And harry potter for that matter) No matter which one you think is best, they are very different and its OKAY to like them all!
I don't know if anyone has commented saying this yet, but the ship that flies over katniss and gale while their in the woods doesn't signify that the games are going to start (effie arrives on a train, which then takes katniss and peeta to the capitol). that scene is from a flashback that katniss has while she's in the capitol.
also, you should read the books before you watch the movie. that way the movie will make more sense. remember, the books came first :)

@olivethepiglet I meant that there's a meaning to what happened in book 3, not just blood and gore. Don't expect it to be cheesy scenes. Taking Harry Potter & the Deathly Hollows for instance.

The ending sucked
And I mean the trilogy ending It was to short
You go from great to shit in less than 10 pages
It just felt like the author rushed the ending
Good series though

the themes of twilight are love and suffering for those you love hunger games include these themed, but include themes of war, trust, and lots of other stuff. they are comparable, but hunger games doesn't focus on one emotion-- just like twilight is a love story, and only a love story.

no just no. thats not what the series was about in the books its not what it should be about in the movie. If it boils down to anything resembling twilight, sorry if the fans turn out to be anything like they were in twilghit then its a huge insult to suzzane collins and the readers of the book. twilghit is about a girl wanting a guy, hunger games is about exploring the horrors of war and killing while focusing on the one person that ends up in the very middle of it.

I've read both and I love both but Hunger Games is so so so much better. Hunger Games has a great plot to it and Katniss is a fighter as opposed to Bella who is, well, not. Read the books deff. I read the first two books in a matter of five days... they are hard to put down.

Honestly, they both suck. BUT (BuTt... bUtT... BUTT!!!) The Hunger Games is insanley better than Twilight (<-- now i have to burn my computer. great...)
The Hunger Games has a better story to it, it has a good balance between love and action.
