theres a guy here with a 400ex with about the same mods, his is bored, a arms, axle, everything imaginable. and he has the tc shorty and that thing SCREAMS! its so loud lol. his has been on there for years and i doubt if he ever has repacked it.

i have an '04 400ex and got an hmf slip on...it is really loud and by far has the best sound on my opinon the pipe and jetkit gave me about 7mph more to my top speed and a lot more bottom end i have hear great things about the full system..but any exhuast is better then stock lol

from tc racing, tom "custom" makes everything really. The can is actually a supertrapp silencer from a 3-wheeler I think the 200x or one along those lines. He makes the megaphone and you have to cut the stock headpipe about 6 inches for it to fit up. I sold this quad over 4 years ago I think. I made this video when I posted on forums for sale so they could actually see it run.

Lol the tc exhaust has monster backpressure. You obviously are an armchair racer. The reverse megaphone style pipe leading the the can which shrinks back down to a 2.25 inch core offers monster top end. The pipe has been proven to LACK in top end horsepower due to SO MUCH backpressure. Which made this pipe strictly for smaller tighter track that dont require WOT and more bottom end throttle chopping response. So why dont you stick with your arm chair artard.

How'd you put that grab bar on there?

cut off the original and welded the frame up then welded some flanged nuts on the frame to fit the grab bar, it was either that or the subframe was drilled and tapped to fit a 250r grab bar. I'm not sure now since I haven't seen it in almost 4 years

Wish you need to turn up your idle, it will sound alot better, plus you don't have to let your quad idle for hours for quick stops. It's right under the choke, pretty big screw.

What would that have to do with anything about the idle? 440 kit doens't make your quad an automatic "race engine". Infact 440 kits totally wreck the 400ex realibility completely. Running a TC exhaust is just plain stupid, that exhaust has been proven to be horrible even lose of HP due to no backflow. Please, I'm not just one of those arm-chair racers.

Sure, its the same engine, it just has a reverse gear in the trans. But all 400ex's ive seen including my 07 already has reverse. I guess some of the older ones might not. im not real sure on that one.

the pipe will add some power but its all in the low end to midrange. with other mods though i always thought this was the best exhaust to use. its loud though and doesnt meet sound regulations for racing anymore though

no no no, i have a prp yz445f hybrid quad. its a 250r based quad, the chassis is made by prp and it has a yz426f motor in it that has all the goods from vps

what do you think of the 440 kit? I bought mine with it installed along with a supertrap slip on pipe rev limiter, and Stage 2 cam. Its hard for me to tell since I never rode a stock machine.

no comparison. the 440 kit makes suck a difference! i have a 01 with the 440 and stage 1 hotcams with full white bro r4 exhaust and my friend has a 03 without that and thre is no comparison!

the tc shorty consisted of a silencer and a midpipe, the stock headpipe was cut 6 inches or so to mate the tc up to it.
