Nat started coughing while making that movie, went to the doctor, was diagnosed with lung cancer, and died within a few months and before the movie was released. So much for smoking being cool.
@mutleybird I could tell this song was sung when he was getting Lung Cancer, his voice started getting really really "rich" in some areas, while cracking a bit in others in a lot of the songs he did around this time. Here you can especially hear it(like at 2:09)
anyways...for the longest time, I thought it was James Durante that sang with him on this(I first heard this off a Nat King Cole compilation album.)

I love this movie I'm 25 and i grew up watching this because of my mom. i love Lee Marvin and Nat King Cole.
