If you aren't okay using the men's bathroom right away, it is okay. My first year at university I had to search all over campus to find a unisex bathroom, conveniently it was right infront of the glbtq centre. Use the men's when you are ready. You need to be confident and comfortable going in because other people can sense when you feel uneasy. I am 5'10 as well and I still feel short in comparison to men who are 6'0. We are lucky enough to be taller than the average :) Keep your head up!
Dude go in the guys washroom and son't worry about what people think, if they as you just tell them you are trans and explain to them. I honestly think you are being overly paraniod... then again I am not in your shoes.
@GayInsite It seems you are in some sort of mood lately because of your judgemental comments. Bathrooms are generally a touchy subject with trans people and I don't believe it is okay to tell someone at the beginning of their transition that they are overly paranoid. We have all had these worries. Not everyone is receptive to the trans idea and sometimes it could be dangerous.
so in iceland do people just really stick to stereotypical gender roles when it comes to dress and clothes? is it a small school where you know a lot of people, because if not, use the male bathroom. you look like a guy. glad you had such a positive experience. you deserve it.
@Zedie36 Yeah, pretty much. Although it is okay for girls to wear guy clothes & people don't think much of it, I don't really see many girls who do.
I do go to a big school but there are a lot of people who saw me as a girl last semester. I'm not sure if they really remember that but if they do I don't want to get it trouble for peeing haha.

5`10 is actually pretty tall. The average height of guys in America is only 5'7.5. Just curious, why do you still go by your birth name?

Yay! Congratulations, that was a brave thing to do! I'm glad it went okay.
