  • Just looking to see if I missed any of your vids...I do see that I had commented on this, something to the effect of "wanting to be in a far off place"...I see by your post date June 27, I thought I may have missed this one, "Little Max" had died the day before on the 26th...I'm still sad :-( ...he was more than just a dog to me. Good one (again) Paul.

    --Van

P.S. I still going to post that "Country Gentleman" song some day...I really like it...there's still time before the year is out--ha ha.

    Olivier

  • @reiviloguitare

    Thank you Olivier.

It needed the repeat, I think.

    Amities pour tu,

    S'il vous plais.

  • Nice performance. This piece brings back my old memories Here in Tokyo, we are in the middle of rainy season. It is hot and humid. Best regards, from lute323.

  • @lute323

    Thank you Lute.

I have always been meaning to ask you:

Could I please know your name?

An English translation of the meaning would be just great.

    Thank you sir,

    Paul

  • @Gangly1 My firiends overseascall me Hide'. "Hi" pronounces like" he". The chinese character of "hide or 英”means excellent or the abbreviation of England. Best regards, lute323.

  • Beautiful Paul. Love those chords.

    Cheers

    Phil

  • @PhilCLG4

    Cheers Phil.

It is a very nice arrangement.

A shame I don't have the staying power to do it twice!

My lady friend is nodding as I type.

    Hee hee.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

  • Nice one Paul, me and Ali were doing the Tango to this, I had the rose in my mouth, aye yas right there Mucker, nowt worse than having a pair of sweaty mitts to deal with loose bracings eh? we tangoed up the dicky dancers to the blanket show and for some strange bloody reason I turned orange? heh heh! :-)

    Thanks Mate! :-)

  • @Lansdownekid

I answered this, the day you posted it. It seems to have got lost in the ether.

I do hope your sweaty mits found Ali's loose (bra)cings.

Although, the image of you, rose in mouth, probably brought on her headache!

    Hee hee.

    Cheers Mate.

  • A great version of this everlasting classic!

  • @srefvik

  • It´s really nice Paul. Thank you for sharing.

  • @paulurdaneta

Thank you very much for watching and for placing it on your channel.

    You must be mad!!

    Hee hee.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • @Gangly1 The last season of American Idol demonstrated it could do just fine without Simon Cowell. Now, how much will it cost to return Pierce Morgran? We have a serious unemployment problem here.

  • Nicely played, Paul!

    Svilen

  • @spronev

    Thank you Svilen

  • Hi Paul. I agree with guitar player128. The quality of sound is really outstanding. You must have a condenser mike there. Bright melody, warm accompanying chords. It's all there. Top job.

  • @Mr5stevenr

    Hi Steve,

Thanks my friend. It is my old Oscar Teller (1967) on this piece. It is mellower than the Alhambra. Having said that I did try a Hi and Lo Pass filter in Audacity on this, which seems to have met with some approval. If only I could remember the settings! Just the usual, cheap Hitachi HMP606 mic (£20.00) again.

Viv is nearly done, just trying to get the allegro up to pace. Just about managing at around 108bpm.

    Keep well mate.

    Paul

  • Fab sounding piece evocative of the best sixties films, Paul.

  • @jjmc60

    Thanks a lot Jules.

    Hope you are well.

    Paul

  • I have to agree with the last bit of oldwhtmans comment , regarding this piece ,, am i now a sad ol git that i find this music played on guitar , quite , " hip " !! lol ,, its always a pleasure to watch & learn from your videos ,, cheers ,, dave

  • @reprac9

    Hahahaha!!

    Cheers Dave.

We are not getting any younger, my old mucker.

I hesitate to add, that the next post could be a bit of Glenn Miller!

    Keep well mate.

    Paul

  • Hey Sir Paul,

nice to see you my friend... Sweet playing with much feeling and what a lovely piece!!! I enjoy it!! i hope your well!! Hug Sarah :-)

  • @sguitar

    Good evening Lady Sarah,

    Thank you for watching.

I am well and hope you are too.

I will be even better if Peo buys me a pint in Newcastle (see below).

I will not hold my breath...I hear he always needs the toilet, when it is his turn to go to the bar for beers!

    Hee hee.

    Take care,

    Paul

    XX

  • Fantastic!

  • @fingerpickups

    Thanks for watching my friend.

  • Hi Paul,

I hear a growl or feedback that is masking your very fine playing. Is the growl the bracing issue?

Anyway, still enjoyed listening to you.

    Tim

  • @carpeguitarra

    Hi Tim.

Sorry about that. I preferred the mellower sound of the old Oscar Teller (1967) for this piece. It is ok to play for about 45mins, but then develops a vibration caused by a bit of loose bracing. It gets to be like a bumble bee in the background. There was no way I was doing it again on the Alhambra in that heat.

Us Brits are not used to it!

    Cheers mate.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • What, no air-conditioning in England? That was too good not to have a repeat. But I suppose it won't kill me to hit the [replay] button. Nobody warned me that I would start liking my mother's music when I got old. Unsettling.

  • @oldwhtman

Eh up Mike. Air-conditioning in homes hasn't really crossed "the Pond" yet. It may arrive when we have finished dealing with knife/gun crime, gang-culture, greedy bankers and grand theft auto!!

It gives me a perverse sense of satisfaction that you inherited "The X Factor"...et al, from this side of the Pond. On that point...new meanings for old words....."Countryside" = the unlawful killing of Piers Morgan!

    Hee hee!

    Keep well sir.

    Paul

  • Excellent, Paul. I can never hear this song without seeing Liz Taylor in my mind. This composition is one of the greats from that era. Anyway, very nicely done, my friend.

    Pura Vida!!!

    Ron

  • @13crickets

    Cheers Ron.

I like the Astrid Gilberto version more than Sarah Vaughan.

But it is all taste and this remains a classic piece of music.

    Keep well sir.

    Paul

  • Sweet as nut, lad. You're making that guitar sing.

  • @ironmonger100

    Thanks for watching Shaun.

    I really appreciate it.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Fabulous playing.

I don't know what you are using to mic and record your guitar. But I think this is the best guitar sound I've heard on YouTube.

    A fan in NC.

  • @Guitarplayer128

Cheers Bob. Thanks for watching my friend.

It is just a very cheap Hitachi HMP606 mic straight into Audacity and then run through a Hi and Low pass filter (do not ask me the settings...I never write them down).

Hope you and Hannah are still making great music. She must be a pro on the bass by now?

    Regards to you both,

    Paul

  • greeeaaaat playing and a wonderful edition, is it published ?

  • @guitarclaus

    Hi Claus.

    Thank you very much sir.

I have sent you a private message.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Paul. You made my day! Thank you! I love this piece and Ulrik made a great arrangement. And then...YOU play it so well... ahhhhh what can a man more wish for.

    And you look great too!

Have a great summer my friend. I will play a concert close to Newcastle in November. Is that close to you? Sure would like to offer you a pint!

    Per

  • @AndanteLargo

    Thanks a lot Mr P.

Newcastle is 100 miles or so away, but I would travel 1000 miles just to get the long-promised beer off you sir!

    Will see you there.

    Have a great summer too.

    Keep well.

    Paul

  • I will have a mixed drink with some "Tango" please. Nice sounding piece...takes me away to a far off place.

    5*

    --Van

  • @van1976

    Cheers Van the Man.

Pour me one too..lots of ice in my Stella Artois plz!

    Keep well mate.
