  • I agree thats cruel, but that is very.. well. Awesome too, really, they transplanted a HEAD.. It was very wrtong, all the failed experiences and stuff, but that was .. wow.. D:

  • I have to say to everyone who is complaining about a scientist who did experiments on a dog 50 years ago( yeah I know some scientists still do that with product testing), shut up and look at what he did. He was able to graft a puppy's head onto a full grown dog's body, and both heads were alive. That is nothing short of amazing, although playing God like this could potentially screw humanity up the bum.

  • DOUBLE HEAD ALL THE DOGS !!!

  • Robert White made the same experiments with monkeys in the 70s. He also discovered, just like Demikhov did, that the transplanted body reacts aggressively (Frankenstein's monster like) and tries to escape and detach itself from its new body. It might be due to cerebral damage during the transplant which is possible since the known experiments only describe animals' reaction, not human's. It might also happen because the dead "life" doesn't agree to come back to life. It's taboo, but it's science

  • let science progress! mid-age minds

  • this is more than sick. how could this 'doctor' even sleep at night!?

  • OK if you are complaining about them doing research on a dog then you are stupid. If you actually knew what you were talking about you would know that the dog was involved in a accident and was going to die. So this "madman" saved its life. PWNED

  • @marlitoofthenine

God, you are dumb. My mother has cancer. Perhaps, we should have some idiot scientist sew a baby on her head! These dogs never lived more than a month (most only a few days). If you justify this in any way, you are a complete moron. If you support it, you are also as much of a monster as the cruel, horrible man who destroyed these animals.

  • @shootersgirl76 Bitch you are fucking retarded!!! the dog would die in less than a day and the experiments he performed have probably saved lives!! its just a fuckin dog. and maybe the difference is people would actually care if the dog died instead of some bitch who cant even raise a daughter with at least a childs iq

  • @marlitoofthenine

It is curious to me that you have the nerve to call me "retarded" when you don't even appear to know how to construct a sentence. The first word of a sentence is always capitalized (just so you know). Some of the dogs lived over 20 days. Do your research because you look really stupid when you talk out of your ass. I don't even understand the last sentence, so will leave it alone. It is really difficult to respond to truly challenged people. You are probably sad to be you :(

  • @shootersgirl76

Since you seem all fancy like maybe a poem is better ahem:

    twas such a pity

    she was a bitch

    that hoe

should totally get raped in all holes

    and i would laugh

    teehee

  • @marlitoofthenine

Wow, just realized that you are probably only 12 years old. Do your parents know you have such a tasteless mind?

  • @shootersgirl76 A great coincidence is i realized your like 35 and pretty much all you do on youtube is complain on videos about how inhumane normal stuff is. get a life cause im done with you

  • @marlitoofthenine

Let me respond in a way you will understand. Dee Dee Deeeeeeee

  • Tell me, would this be any different if:

A thirteen year old child decided to chop off his pet dog's tail and hind legs because he was 'curious' as to whether or not they would grow back? No. The parents would punish him and his peers would never look at him the same again.

Can you imagine the pain these animals were going through? Look at them wobbling around, it's pathetic. I'm no animal rights activist, but these bastards were just sick in the head.

  • @ThePMRadio

Agree 100%. It's just sick and I cried when I first saw the footage. This is the stuff nightmares are made of.

  • what the fuck?

  • Holy Shit doesn't even begin to cover it.

  • This is just fucking sick!

  • This is pure genius @_@.Why did they not continue the experiment? Where the fuck is my three headed monkey?!?! Fucking moralfags.

  • Same amount of feces, twice the barking.

  • Sick minded.

  • @BastardsinSpace.....huh? you need a new brain.

  • Stupid science people for cutting the dog head off and more....That is curelty!!

  • DAMN NATURE YOU SCARY!

  • FUCK THAT

  • Yeah it led to good stuff, but you will never convince me that that guy wasn't one sick effer. Women who drown their kids in bathtubs so thy can die innocent had good intentions, too, but doesn't mean there wasn't something seriously wrong with them. This was disgusting to me, as a human being.

  • @happyhappyunaware56

ok when u make a ground breaking discovey that saves millions of human lives you can use whatever research methodology u want

  • @happyhappyunaware56 If you don't see a difference between a scientist who seeks for truth in his experiments and a girl who was just stupid enough to get undesirable pregnancy and cruel enough to kill her baby, you a troll or moron.

  • Demikhov's research has saved the lives on millions of people. He was a pioneer in organ transplanting. His experiments and research led to the first successful heart transplant in 1957. I will admit his research got a little out there, but when he was doing this, they didn't know what was possible. Imagine, taking the head of somebody who's body was destroyed and implanting it onto a perfectly good body! His research stemmed from healing war veterans.

Shut the fuck up you ignorant ass holes.

  • holy shit

  • Poor black dog...he looks so sad and weak

  • What the fuck is the point of this? What did it advance at all? Why would you want to switch heads? What two humans are going to want that? Going to make an army of two headed mutants? Planning to get that extra head? One could discover things in such a more sensible way :I this would just take forever to do. And it's cruel. It's "second head" certainly looks distressed in this.

  • @TheCunningAndFought thats not the point, Demikhov was considered a mad man when he showed hes idea that it would be possible to transplant organs, thanks to him, heart transplant was made, many things that helped save millions were once tested in a sick way

  • This guy was sick....but medicine had no knowledge of organ rejection beforehand

  • The whole two-headed dog experiment was just wrong. Thousands of dogs died from his feeble attempts. I mean what was he proving? Even if we could successfully perform head transplants on human beings who would do it? Would you like to live in another humans body? I just think these experiments were just wrong. All of his successful cases of two-headed dogs died anyway. The record was a month... Not to mention the ones that didn't survive this mad scientist procedure.

  • @JaKeth3snake It was to transplant you a new body should your old one get blown to bits, assuming your head was intact.

  • Go Yankees!

  • Damn there were so many cool soviet science things

  • I can't imagine the benefits to humans of surgically fusing a smaller dog to a bigger one. I am aware that this took place a considerably long time ago... but it is extremely cruel and serves no significant purpose. It breaks my heart to see the smaller dog struggling... no doubt confused and in immense pain as the bigger one moves sluggishly around.

  • Even space exploration was first tested on either ape or pig

  • @aldibeta

Actually, the first animal in space was a dog.

  • the where an lot further than the usa at that time

  • bullyword agreed

  • its gross tho imagine you were knocked down buy a car and the onlt way to save you was to have your head stuck to your husband or something eww

  • it's vladimir demikhov's job.mad sciencist

  • Fascinating!

  • ohhhh... shit its the THING

  • Hahahahaha

  • The puppy was actually involved in a car accident and was on deaths door (It was on its way to the hospital for a heart transplant). Wanting to try and save the puppy and further science, he tried this method.

  • whay the hell does everyone keep critisising scientist for carrying out experiments on animals, while they are deemed cruel, they are used to find new ways to improve our human lives, or would rather have them being carried out on humans.

  • omg Ome99, you argue like my dead grandmother... what if there were no animals at all? would you specify significant people for experiments so the others can "improve their lives"? arguing that torturing animals is ok when its helping humankind is simply stupid.

  • @schweissscheisse whats more important keeping you me or any one else alive or a animal (bear in mind we are animals too but yeah) so long as they dont like torture the animal im against that shit to but you get hat im saying right?

  • if experiments are going to made for "research", then why not use Murderers, Paedophiles And Rapists..Not Defenceless Animals

  • Would you want a two-headed murderer running around?

  • @Ditch2012 Hell yeah I would, that'd be badass

  • @Ditch2012 best comment ever...

  • @Ditch2012 Yes.

  • so we should graft the head of a rapist on a paedophile? why would you want to use "damaged" life for experiments to promote health and possible healing?

  • @glenston38 it is first defenseless second because it is illegal to work on humans

  • @glenston38 I totally agree...If their in for good then put them to some good use besides just eating up good peoples money.

  • @glenston38 Who knows ? Maybe this dog was a rapist.

  • @glenston38 "Animal experiments inevitably lead to human experiments" Dr Moniem A Fadali dlrm. org That is because it is impossible to transfer results between any two species. “Animal studies are done for legal reasons and not for scientific reasons. The predictive value of such studies for man is meaningless.”; - Dr James D. Gallagher; Director of Medical Research; Lederle Laboratories; Journal of the American Medical Association; March 14 1964.; curedisease. net

  • @glenston38 ,i have been saying this for the past 30 years.its good to know someone out there has the same opinion as i do!3 cheers for you!

  • @glenston38 Actually Soviet did that as well under Stalins time. However when Stalin died this doctors who performed such tasks for Stalin at the time. They where all executed the prisoners where realized.

  • @

people like you must be used in experiments like this one. stupid animal.

  • @glenston38 why not just use idiots like you who instead of using animals wants to put murderers peadophiles and rapists are you stupid?

  • @glenston38 Look how many people are wrongly accused and put in prison. Might as well use you.

  • @senchele true

  • @glenston38 i could agree more

  • @glenston38 do you really want a two headed rapist

  • @glenston38 id love to take an iron bat to your face in my spare time... you fucked up freak

  • @glenston38

Without this experiment with these people and animals. This research experiments made HUMAN HEART TRANSPLANTS POSSIBLE without this dog your complaining about we would have never known how to do human heart transplants.

  • Comment removed

  • @glenston38 You have know that despite the status of a person whether if they are murderers or not the doctors of medicine are required to follow the Hippocratic Oath. Because of the oath they cannot operate medical experiments on any human being that is harmful and not beneficial to their body and health. But you are puzzled why defenseless animals are the victims of this experiment, let me tell you one thing the price of two dog's life doesn't compare to the amount of human lives saved.

  • @glenston38

augh... how about NOT they may have done horrible things, but they are still people!

  • hijo de puta

  • why in the hell do they never say how long the animals live? something like this might live for I'd say a week. but it just makes me wonder what happens after they to this to them?

  • Its a scientific experiment. i feel sorry for animals, but these experiments helped making a great breakthrough in medicine and transplant surgery.

  • No, they didnt. Transplanting organs, and transplanting half of a dog onto another one, are entirely different things. We dont, and most likely will never, transplant half of one person onto another, so there was no justification for these experiments. He was just a twisted scientist, who wanted to see what he was capable of doing. Many animal experiments even now can not be justified.

  • The surgeries actually made breakthroughs in artery grafting and circulation. And no one is trying to justify these experiments.

  • He made 20 two headed dogs in all, some of which lasted a few days, the record was a month. I think that's pretty impressive since he never bothered to connect the dogs head to the main dogs stomach, since both were filmed eating and drinking, I'm guessing that led to some internal rotten food issues.

  • That dog must have been in pain....

  • This doctor's name was Vladimir Petrovich Demikhov and he supposedly had a legitimate reason for these experiments. He wanted to see if major organs from one body could be transplanted to another. This research influenced Christiaan Barnard who performed the first heart transplant from one person to another person in 1967. STILL, with that break through when I watch this clip I can't see the justification for this. It's horrile. The dogs died 6 days later. Demikhov died in obscurity.

  • I'm more curious about how this actually works, to actually remove a head from a body without it basicly dying. I mean, without oxygen the brain fall apart.

And fergielion.... That wasn't so very nice of you.

  • That poor dog(s) ended up dieing because of that. I hope those scientists died a slow and painful death.

  • This is rly great achivment... Although it`s cruel... During experiments about 2houndrets of animals such as dogs and monkeys got killed... But soon we will able to transplant head fom one body to another... ut we still can`t connect broken spin core...

  • idk I mean we did learn a lot about nerves and the brain from the experiments but I'm not sure we really need to be able to transplant heads. I think we as a people have an unhealthy obsession with living forever. I really don't want to say head transplants are "wrong" but I have some hang ups about it...

  • Well... The soviet union wanted to have as advanced surgery and science level as USA... So Wladimir Demichov made those... animal. It was response to Dr Wite`s surgery... of those monkey...

  • That is Cruel..Why Do People Do This..It Doesn't make sense

  • To those who like this: We learned so much about the nervous system and tissue rejection through these experiments. Rejoice!

To those who don't like this: It was the fucking communists who did this! Burn them, every last one! Those FUCKERS!

  • LOL

  • It's funny because it's true. IF there is someone to blame it's the evil nazi communists. Really!

I, for one, approve strongly of the scientific value of the study. So anyone who has any complaints, find a commie and bash his head in. Amen.

  • Yeah But Why Rejoice When A 2 Living Things Are Suffering..Hmmm

  • Thanks for proving my very point. Damn communists. Let's abolish them from the earth once and for all!

    It's all falling into place.
