Their sound was completely original and their political / social messages were very clear in all their songs which is one of the main reasons why I and so many other people like them. They were a semi-famous band openly criticizing the politics and social problems at the time, many of which still hold true today.

This doesn't come off like someone who just wants to have a discussion about why it's not good. You can criticize all you want, just don't expect flattering responses from the fans. Music is a whole different beast than politics. In politics, it's expected to have opposition. Music, people stick to their own stuff and enjoy it on their own time

The main reasons I dont like it is b/c of the vocal style and lack of a solid bass foundation. The vocal style get's very corny to me, and I listen to a lot of hip hop, so bass and rhythm is something that I gravitate towards.
@royallighting7 Punk will never be the genre for you then. Most punk and hardcore punk are very fast. Fast vocals, fast, heavy drums. There aren't really songs where the bass is very prominent just because that's the style. It's there to make the guitar sound stronger, nothing more. Although I can name some songs where the bass opens the song which is always good.

I enjoy the fast sounding heavy drums and the fast vocals, I just don't like the vocal delivery Dead Kennedy's have. Sounds kinda shaky. Can you refer me to any bands that have a sound like Green Day's?
@royallighting7 They're not punk, their new stuff at least. The only bands I know that resemble them are The Almost and maybe Blink 182. If you listen to hip hop, I think you'd like Rage Against The Machine. Zack de la Rocha's lyrics are very hip hop-ish.
