That 12V71, according to Murray, was set up to run 435 horsepower... if bigger injectors, eg 9G75's, were fitted, that could run up to about 480hp. All this driving through a 13x4 RR/Spicer transmission combo.
awsome budy my old man had a 74 cabover 12v71n 1 of mcphees original 1's is there any chance you would sell her also ive been trying to find out any info on how many 12v were fitted in kenworths any info would be great thanks mate
TechMaven, you're right! I've seen this truck and she's a 12V71 - this is the only truck of it's type in Australia (extra heavy duty) used to haul lowloaders with equipment on it. Drive is through a 13x4 RoadRanger/Spicer tranny set-up (RoadRanger main, Spicer auxiliary)
jake brakes on a 8v71! AWESOME! When I was a child there was a construction outfit that had a Brockway with one and I lived in CT. at the bottom of a long step hill. I can still remember the sound!
