  • what was the horsepower for the 12v71 detroits? i love those motors.

  • That 12V71, according to Murray, was set up to run 435 horsepower... if bigger injectors, eg 9G75's, were fitted, that could run up to about 480hp. All this driving through a 13x4 RR/Spicer transmission combo.

  • TechMaven, you're right! I've seen this truck and she's a 12V71 - this is the only truck of it's type in Australia (extra heavy duty) used to haul lowloaders with equipment on it. Drive is through a 13x4 RoadRanger/Spicer tranny set-up (RoadRanger main, Spicer auxiliary)

  • jake brakes on a 8v71! AWESOME! When I was a child there was a construction outfit that had a Brockway with one and I lived in CT. at the bottom of a long step hill. I can still remember the sound!
