The PSP is region free, there is nothing preventing you from buying a copy for yourself from Japan. The menus are simple enough to navigate even in Japanese. Best of all, there are people in the community who release English patches for the game. It doesn't translate everything, but it's enough to make everything manageable.

@jrharbort Thanks for that little piece of information. I wish they would make the games available for download from the PlayStation Network Store. That would be so much more conveinient.
