  • what videogame where these motions captured to?

  • E' bravissimo, e forse raro.

  • music??

  • tommy is cool on jeet kune do, but he cant do a one inch punch, he doesnt know how to generate that power fron what i see in the video

  • GRANDE TOMMY!

  • LOL @ 5:22

  • @MrKnowledgeBank Now you might say, what?! JKD is made up of boxing, fencing, and wing chun because you might be studying some earlier phase of JKD. But from Bruce's literature - Read Letters of the Dragon, Bruce clearly stated he lost faith in chinese martial arts including Wing Chun and believes his Jeet Kune Do is far superior. This letter is dated in 1969. But if you knew that, I apologize. One more thing, Tommy learned from more than one certified JKD instructor just to get it straight.

  • @simonmafy bruces jkd consisted only of western martial arts the wing chun faded away after the oakland period and according to jesse bruce told him that all he was doing is fencing with hand and feet that was towards the end of his lfetime

  • @MrKnowledgeBank You are somewhat far from the truth. Bruce was about to be certified Ted, except he passed away. Dan knew this. It wasn't out of pure kindness. Ted is Bruce's protege and was taught the final version of JKD 1969 - 1973 which literally had ALMOST no Wing Chun in it. I'm not sure about Tommy and his boxing background but all of Ted's students will have more of a boxing feel to it due to the absents of Wing Chun.

  • @simonmafy Where is the evidence that Ted Wong was "about to be certified by Bruce Lee?" No disrespect to Mr. Wong, may he rest in peace. But Inosanto WAS certified while Bruce was still alive and the only person given direct permission to teach the last versions of JKD.

  • @TheRiobezerko I understand the confusion and yes Ted was not certified to teach by Bruce....(Dan was not given permission to commercialize JKD either), but he did so...whatever. However, Ted is certified level 2 in Jeet Kune Do by Bruce. Dan is jeet kune do lvl 3. You can only attain this if you trained one on one with Bruce. There is a 2 page article written by Dan on the confusion in Inside Kung Fu.

  • @MrKnowledgeBank Blahh Blahh Blahh. everyone's a know all

  • Carruthers was a Pro Boxer ! Must be the only pro boxer in the world with no fight record LOL he's a legend in his own lunchtime.

  • he is fast but fedor would destroy him :)

  • 5:18 the "one inch punch" is so fucking fake. Notice the sound when he hits the board. There is no power.

  • @jens17676 you obviously have no idea how the one inch punch works then

  • come on, this is no real one inch punch. It´s faked. Bruce Lee was the real one inch puncher, with damaging power.

  • @jens17676 This is tommy carruthers, he was trained by ted wong who was trained by bruce lee.

  • i'm guessing this guy did all the moves in tekken 6?

  • I think they used some of this motion capture with jann lee in dead or alive.

  • he his a normal man with a normal M.A. attributes...... his "one inch punch is very bad.......

  • What game is this for?

  • Damnit, they have to use that video capturing in other rl games, splinter cell and

    Shit like that

  • jeez he bangs the shit out of that bag @ 4:53-4:55

  • Comment removed

  • i wonder how much they would charge to teach you everythin about jkd...?

  • @deathguilty Everything? Well it would take you infinity to learn everything about anything.

Calculate a monthly fee at his class, multiply with the years you live and then you get a result.

Martial arts are not learned in a month, or a year, sorry friend :)

    All the best!

  • lol 35 yrs from martial arts.

  • the woman is trained in salsa dancing.

  • Comment removed

  • The guy knows his stuff. No fake or other shit.I'm not good in martial arts, but jeet kune do is something that I would like to learn.I see practicality in it,rather then just showing off or something.

Problem with this is that there are very few real masters out there, specially where I live I can't find 1 person who knows jeet kune do.

Any case stop ranting about Tommy Carruthers,he may not be the best in the world, but he can surely kick any of our asses.

  • love his one inch punch!

  • Eddie Gordo at :55-:59

  • This is so cool!

  • The only other living that can hang with Tommy is Emil Martirossian.

  • @MIXTCOMPANY not in a million years

  • @pharscape91 he still get pwned by world champion kickboxer

  • I love this video and can't wait for the game, it just goes to show that even persons like Tommy Carruthers loves to have fun with and art that is. I use to train Karate in Mexico, then JKD, Akido and know train a little Brazilian JJ and I love to mix it all in and just let it flow like JKD it makes it fun and it lets you discover. JKD like Master Tommy Carruthers said is about self expression and letting yore body just flow.

  • NICE VID... FUNNY AND AMAZING...

  • what game is this

  • @ofomatheblackbelt

    Maybe its Tekken

  • @ofomatheblackbelt Its One

  • does someone know for what he did the motion capturing?

  • @purpleDragon93 Motion capturing for recording his movement and introducing them into a video game.

  • @purpleDragon93 nokia, "the one"

  • This guy is the closest we are getting to Bruce Lee

  • what shoes is he wearing at 8:06

  • tom should try mma see if he is effective, i doubt he'd last one round, even if it were with a lighter weight class, against the avg. joe he'd do well. he says he teaches knife defense, umm knives aren't seen folks, they are felt, and in the trained hand that too may not apply, one just sees their bowels spill out while a jet of blood shoots from several arteries, the too late really? peace

  • @justaman6972

hey retard, JKD is not meant for fighting with rules! That is why there are no JKD fighters in MMA tournaments. JKD is for street fighting. Shut up with your key board kung fu.

  • @Vaylemn What's with the name calling/ I didn't disrespect anyone here, rather I made some observations that I thought were poignant, its ok you can go look those big words up so you'll know what they mean. I have been an active fighter for 22 years as well as a combat veteran( this means I've been to war and been shot at and returned fire). I am more than confident you wouldn't last 15 minutes there as respawning doesn't happen in the real world chump!

  • @justaman6972 omg i am so sick of you mma dick sucking faggots that's why people call you things like douche bag because we are sick and tired of hearing people talk about mma when jeet kune do is everything mma is and more, it's like you people don't even know wtf jeet kune do is. you ignorant cunts. then you go and say oh bruce lee or tommy carruthers they wouldn't last in an mma fight. lol they don't study mma because are martial artists not mma competitors.

  • @justaman6972 how do you expect people to not call you names when you say shit like "he says he teaches knife defense, umm knives aren't seen folks, they are felt" it's not a sword. it doesn't increase the speed of your attack unless you are slashing, in which case it's usually not fatal" and considering your grammar i find it pretty surprising you even know what poignant means, or how to spell it. ego "i'm so smart i know what poignant means, i bet most the people on this page don't" ego

  • was that for tekken???

  • What game????

  • so searching for a person who will act like a man when the time is right

  • brian5986 look at TC 5 Day JKD Camp May 2009 on his site under news mentioned in bold in article is direct reference to Jerry without naming, elsewhere he has actually named him when putting him down. What a Total Hypocrite!!! He does EXACTLY the same thing but you don't get a certificate, Jerry charges more though. After camp you run training group under Tommy then of course get him over for very expensive seminars or private lessons costing you lot more cash. People are very gullible.

  • @raswakeup you have not the shittest clue of what tommy does and teach do your researches before ranting over things you obvously don't know for example check his lineage and see for yourself that what he does has nothing to do what jerry does.

  • Carruthers has shit on allot of people to get where he is now bullshitting his way through the 90's until eventually getting a seminar cert from Wong somewhere down the line, he is not liked and is well known for being one of the biggest back stabbers in JKD walks round with a permanent scowl on his face that makes his rat like features even look more ridiculous I bet he's a real humble guy know though lmco.

  • raswakeup i didnt know tommy was talking bad about people like jerry.tommy is brilliant martial artist, hes as close to bruce than anyone i ever seen, but you are right,he doing the exact same thing as jerry with online training and 5 day camps, only thing is tommy is cheaper at 500 pounds where as jerry charges twice as much, but far as i know jerry a really nice guy and he was student of bruce, but you are right what you say, didnt know tommy was saying that.

  • Hilarious Tommy talks bad about people like Jerry Poteet for doing Instructor courses and certifying them to teach JKD in under a week, when Tommy does 5 day camps at 500pounds/750+dollars, after which you can run a group & teach under him, you might not get a nice certificate as Jerry gives you but EXACTLY The same thing! What a hypocrite. JKD online club / signature equipment / training camps, etc - Sell Out! You want true JKD sure we take Visa or Mastercard.

  • really fite sumone before i lose it

  • Good to see Tommy's still going. Trained at his school for a while in the 90's. The real deal.....

  • tommy is the man

  • @assassin9783 wow, he truly are

  • @assassin9783

    Exatly!!

  • ha thats u told twartist..... oh no were going to burn bridges and never be able to go there......where did i put that box of matches,

    later freakshow sisters

  • ps6251 don't burn all your bridges, heard that expression before? If you wanted to come back to Krauseworld now or in the future you could do so, as long as you quit the insults directed at the place and Steve & Mike Krause now. The reasons you left are not important, al I'm saying is quit the insults or you will have no chance of ever coming back, so think about what you're doing! Krauseworld is better equipped gym and bigger, and best Instruction as well you know from training there before.

  • Lol,you cant even divide public opinion everyone here knows what shoitworld is all about. The only people talking it up is you.And thats because you own it.Shiteworld for shite MA.

  • @artistbytrade1 Krauseworld? Kali, pentak silat etc.

  • ps6251 you are getting caught up with terms/words like concepts. Tim Tackett, Yori Nakamura, Diana Inosanto, Chris Kent, etc all taught by Dan Inosanto. Do they all know & teach JKD? They are advisors to Bruce Lee Foundation. Same person Dan Inosanto taught Steve & Mike Krause. So either all these people know & teach JKD or none of them do? which is it. You're contradicting yourself and starting to sound silly, and with calling the Legends Steve & Mike bellends that is very immature.

  • So where are the sisters from shoiteworld now as everyone from the jkd/jkd concepts world have distanced themselves from these 2 clowns.Even there landlords kicked them out of cambridge st because of there bleating and talking shoit.I apoligise for calling them bellends, they are not even as usefull as a bellend, they are just a pair of retarded bedwetters that couldnt fight sleep.

  • And i would love to see you call me immature to my face. Then you will know what a real smack to the face feels like instead of the flowery bullshit you are doing just now.Arsehole.

  • @ps6251 and artistbytrade1

you two need to shut the fuck up.

  • @artistbytrade1 u really think hes the fastest guy no look up ip man

  • @shyshy1ful Tommy Carruthers is a very good friend of Donnie Yen (the guy who played Ip Man)

  • Alan6670 go do your homework. Tim Tackett, Diana Inosanto, Chris Kent, Yori Nakamura, etc are all with Bruce Lee Foundation and all trained by Dan Inosanto who trained Steve & Mike Krause. So you're saying all the afore mentioned don't do JKD, or you're contradicting yourself & sounding very silly. For authentic pure JKD as Bruce Lee intended it to be taught check out Krauseworld, nothing wrong with going to Tommy's but I'm talking about where to go for authentic JKD Bruce Lee's art.

  • stupidbytrade1 how long b4 the penny drops with you.Shoitworld is a joke run by 2 jokers that do concepts and concepts is not authentic jkd.Why would they advertise concepts for years then suddenly do authentic jkd.Even when Tim Tackett did a seminar for them he said "what a mess what the fuck are you teaching here cos it sure aint jkd".Carry on you are doing a great job of making yourself appear STUPID.Steve,Mike or wotever your called.Legends? more like bellends!!!

  • bigscottjkd - Bruce Lee>Dan Inosanto>Steve & Mike Krause. Who taught Tim Tackett, Yori Nakamura, Chris Kent, etc all with Bruce Lee Foundation? That would be Dan Inosanto, or you want to say none of them know or teach JKD. There have been ex students of Tommy's at KW that cannot even do basics correct like Bai Jong, straight lead, etc, it has taken a while to iron out their mistakes and only now do they feel they are learning Bruce's art authentic JKD as Bruce Lee intended it to be taught.

  • listen twat artist ,, you know fuk all do your homework , ,the girls may say its JKD ,but it aint , so why are they not on close terms with the fouindation , TED WONG , jesse glover etc , to name a few , even Bruces sister feebee , , his wife lindsa ,daughter shannon , , get a page of your own to ponse off , before yer wiped out , k pat n scotty , where are you big s , we miss you

  • just had a look at the krauseworld video seems the sisters hav deleted all comments. Thats because all there former students were telling everybody its a big bag off shite. These cunts sorry masters, dont even hav the balls to let people post on there video. HO WONDER THEY ARE TRYIHG TO HOVER PUBLICITY FORM SIFU TOMMYS VIDEOS. Come on artistbytrade which one are you Steve or Mike or at least which one do u like to suck off the most. While listening to bongo drums i might add.

  • th1000 Steve & Mike Krause were trained by Dan Inosanto & others (Dan Inosanto was Bruce Lee's friend and top student, he trained with him longer than any other), so you not only insult Steve & Mike Krause you insult Dan Inosanto as well with 'martial sport comments' etc. Intro lesson at Krauseworld is free, so what have you got to lose? They teach authentic simple direct JKD as Bruce intended it to be taught geared totally for the street. Show some respect for true legends in martial arts.

  • Inosanto doesn't teach JKD, I was in one of his seminar and he teaches just kali and mix of martial arts...he used the JKD name for business issues (jun fan kick boxing, jun fan etc...) real JKD= ORIGINAL JKD

  • artis, heeelooooo!!! Wake uuuuuup! stop doing martial sport do JKD!

  • lasson22 what on earth are you talking about with spamming etc? I'm saying go train with Tommy Carruthers but if in same area also check out Krauseworld, Intro lesson is free so what have you got to lose? They were training in & teaching JKD long before Tommy was.Krauseworld is geared towards the street and teaches authentic JKD as Bruce Lee intended. You want to defend yourself in the street against violent attacks check out Krauseworld, you wanna try Tommy's stuff in the street good luck to you.

  • bowedup816 Krauseworld is JKD and geared totaly for the street, you want to defend against violent attacks & be the best martial artist you can be.Check them out, they were teaching JKD long before Tommy was.Krauseworld is pure authentic JKD as Bruce Lee intended, Intro lesson is free go try it & see the difference for yourself.Even just 10 or 20 hours there is equavilent to a year or more at Tommys in preparing you for violent street attacks and increasing chance of saving your life if attacked.

  • I think Krauseworld need to go sponge off someone else fame and success, all you are doing is promoting yourself on all the clips of Tommy Carruthers, thats pathetic, why don't they upload some videos instead of spamming.

  • yes ,if you want to defend against violent hairdressers , this is the place , pure short back n kick in the insides by the way , get alife , or GET IT RIGHT

  • krauseworld = MMA

Sifu Tommy Carruthers is the real deal. Original JKD at its finest.

  • If in same area as Tommy Carruthers or International student travelling to train there, look up Krauseworld (just enter name in search). They have been practicing and teaching JKD many more years than Tommy has.Mike & Steve Krause teach pure JKD the way Bruce Lee intended it to be taught, and both are better than Tommy is.You can book free intro. lesson, and need not tell Tommy you have booked to train with them also. Krauseworld is best for Bruce Lee's art in the area and fully equipped centre.

  • krauseworld do not do jkd at all!

  • I'm a Malay from Malaysia...a silat instructor who studied under a few Malay Guru.Tommy,to me is one of a kind....stop give bad comment to him or underestimated him. He already reach(to me) the high level of expertised

  • What is that computer game's name??

  • is bruce lee

  • awesome

  • I'm fine with you replying to me, no worries.

What exactly makes him "one of the greatest martial artists alive"? His strength? His speed? Like I said before, there's more to martial arts than what you physically see.

And if he does know more, he sure as heck doesn't show it. At all. If you knew anything about JKD IN ITS ENTIRETY, you would agree with me.

  • Wow, Tommy just lost some major points in the respect category.

Way to fail on the one inch punch.

  • you idiot dude...tommy trains extremely hard and all the time pushing his own limits everyday to be a good STREET FIGHTER. What use is the one inch punch in street fight. Bruce Lee was one of the only people to master that punch. Bruce was, still and always will be the best at it. Tommy trains extremely hard. I've done 15 years of JKD and went to a seminar with Tommy and he is amazing and lightning fast. I probably couldnt hold 2 minutes with him and i would run. Tommy is one of the best now....

  • I don't know if you were addressing me, or just rambling. Yeah, the one inch punch holds very little use in reality. It's become a sort of 'proof of strength', when it's about 1/5 strength. So when you try to flaunt doing it, and do it wrong, you need called out.

You say you've 'done' 15 years of JKD. That statement doesn't mean anything, considering you're saying that you started practicing one of the most philosophically in depth and complex disciplines at the the age of 13.

  • No offense to you, but I highly doubt you even being able to grasp the tip of the iceberg at that age. In this case, you amount of years practiced really doesn't hold much weight.

And as I've said, multiple times, JKD is 1/4 strength, 1/4 speed, 1/4 mental, and 1/4 spiritual. People keep flaunting Tommy's strength and speed, but I still haven't seen any evidence of the last two parts, not even on his website. Show me evidence of him training THOSE, and then I'll give him a chance.

  • I study the physical side of JKD...for self defense. Same with Tommy. He does not train in JKD to become a JKD master. He does it for the self defense aspect of it. JKD is 3 parts...Self Defense, Mental and Philosophical. I only started practicing the 2 other parts nearly a year ago. I've known about them since I was about 16-17 or so but didn't truly understand. Tommy does JKD for self defense...If you didn't know he also has practiced a lot of other arts for self defense.

  • I don't discredit his physical abilities, and I know he's studied/practiced many different martial arts styles, it's just when it comes to this particular topic, people have seemed to stray away from the real reason JKD was even made up.

Like I said, you can't just practice two parts of JKD, and call it JKD. JKD is essentially a way of life, so when you take out parts that are crucial to that way, it isn't JKD anymore.

You understand where I'm coming from?

  • Yah...I totally get your side of it...But maybe he will start practicing the others sides of JKD. The other sides take deep mental understanding though and alot of people lack the knowledge to succeed in that aspect. When I practiced JKD only for the physical aspect of it; I considered it practicing JKD. Take it like this....If you practice Karate but only the kicks and not the punches...would you still consider it Karate? It kinda depends on how you look at things. Thats the best example that..

  • Knowing the philosophical side of JKD does not help you in a street fight so why would Tommy bother with it. Hes a practitioner of JKD because he is one of the top Martial Artists in teh world which does not require the mentality or intelligence of Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee is my #1 idol and I research every part of his life everyday and try to find out whatever I can about him. So I know exactly why, when, and how he came up with JKD. I am not just some dumb kid making stuff up.

  • The philosophical side can help, if you apply in the way that Lee did. Almost embodying the philosophy.

I understand exactly what Tommy tries to do, which is make something very simple, very useful, and very effective. And he succeeds, I admit that.

But you can't just practice half a discipline and label yourself a master at it. That's why the term 'JKD CONCEPTS' came into play.

Yes, I'm being a stickler as far as definitions go, but you know as well as I do, that Lee was the same way.

  • ..I could come up with. It doesn't really apply to JKD specifically but the concept of practicing some but not all. I really depends on personal opinion and how you look at things. Bruce was once asked the question of who he thought was his best celebrity student...he couldn't decide between James Coburn or Steve Mcqueen because Steve had the toughness and strength but not the mentality...it's the opposite with Coburn. So I honestly don't think that Bruce would look at Tommy's JKD in..

  • ...a bad way...he would think Tommy is an extremely good Martial Artist in JKD but I guess he wouldn't think of Tommy as a good representative of JKD is the way I would put it.

  • What game is this? A one on one fighting game?

  • did you play crysis ?

  • they did make a suit like that lol. idk about bullets but the guy survived a bear attack and got hit by a truck and lived

  • Kool...I gotta get a suit like that. Practice with the bear, the truck then go kick Tommy Carruther's ass...judging from the -4 on my previous comment it's obvious that people are WAY too serious regarding comments some time! Lol.

  • wow, you're an idiot

  • You got a big mouth boy - been on your knees a lot? I bet your friends call you circus seal. They probably clap their hands after you suck them off. Now go and open a can of 'fuck you' for lunch and teach your asshole to chew gum to keep yourself entertained.

  • ahhhh, thats so cute. What movie did you hear that in?

  • jelousy is a bad thing you are probably a big fat bastard...

  • jelousy mmmm gets you know where pussy boy

  • Are you guys serious with the one inch punch? The guy is holding equipment so he can't put his fingers out without dropping it. He moved his hand back by about an inch before he hit.

There's no such thing as a zero inch punch lol.

    Jeez you guys are whiney.

  • German Produktion?

  • This is very interesting.

  • This of for the game ONE for NGAGE. Ngage sucks and i bet so does this game.

  • i agree 2 but it looked like it hurt tho lol

  • What's the name of the game their working on????

  • also mine...

  • thats my teacher

  • wtf guys, his one inch punch is exactly what it should be! IN fact, he does it with less movement of his body, therefore slightly better than Bruce Lees! How can you say this guy is shit? Bruce Lees wife said herself, he was the closest thing to Bruce Lee.

  • who knows? they never fight. it cannot be judged by someone's observation about how hard they punched or what.

  • well yes, the technique can be jusged by someone else, and you can see how hard somenoe punches

    giv tommy a fair go!

  • less movement in body means less body weight onto the punch, therefore not as strong

  • well, not exactly. In every other punch yes, but the one incher is about collecting all your energy, from your feetup, and tunneling it through to the other person. This is what causes them to be pushed away. You dont necessarily need to put all your body into it, but merely put all your chi, or energy into it.

martial artists would know what im talking about

  • um if you watched other videos like chosonninja's one inch punch, he clearly explains the element of the one inch punch. and u said martial artists would understand. i am a taekwondo black and judo brown

  • I agree ... what we see on 5:21 is not a one inch punch. His hand is leaving the board plus he puts too much of his body into the movement (leaning forward i mean and not tunneling which is the correct form)

  • a one inch puch flows through your whole body he did it right son learn it then talk

  • he actually pulls back....

  • true, yeh. He prob just requires a bit more practise. i mean, its not easy

you acually understand, instead of swearing at everyone like other people are doing lol

  • u dont have an idea what a one inch punch is...

    u talk crap...
