Two things about Ringo's drumming IMO:

1. He plays with as much conviction and personality as any legendary drummer from any genre, bar NONE.

2. Many mention Ringo's ability to play just what a song calls for, without flash and ego, and rightly so - but what you don't often hear about is his willingness to allow his killer recorded drum tracks to be manipulated in the studio! Ringo played some amazing stuff that is hard to hear because it's buried or made to sound different in the mix.

I have to say that you have given me alot more respect for Ringo's grooves. As someone else said, I too have taken Ringo's drumming for granted calling it simple and not flashy. After seeing how his groove are played, all I can say is "wow"!
