  • clever, funny and sooooo true!

  • The last two churches i've been 2, explained right here

  • WHO DOESNT HAVE A LEXUS...LOL

  • Great vid!!

    Jim

  • Pretty clever.

  • anyone else thinks the pastor in the clip looks like emergent church leader doug pagitt

  • We've got alot of tacky churches like that in Richmond, Virginia!! Most United Methodist Churches are becoming this! TACKY TACKY TACKY!

  • Daddy's got a Lexus.

  • I think the idea Jesus had was "suffer" not surfer!!!

  • That was hilarious!!! "Cuz' that's all the reward you're gonna get". (well, that's not funny...the video as a whole was funny.)

  • Thank you, thank you, I needed that!

  • LOL! TOO FUNNY!!

  • Nice video. But what do you think the solution is? Only offer hymns that are hundreds of years old? Make church boring so that only people who grew up with that will feel comfortable there? Make sure pastors wear robes? What difference does that make?

I don't think that contemporary music, Hawaiian shirts and a coffee shop don't mean the Gospel isn't being preached.

This was a thought-provoking video, but I'd be interested to see what the producers of it advocate as their "ideal" church.

  • The solution is to focus on the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit work, not using human techniques to lure people in.

  • Rofl (:

  • So true!

  • Joel Osteen??? hahah

  • LOL

  • Awesome!

  • Good spoof, but being 'fundamental' isn't the answer either.

  • You may have missed the line that talks about the Presence of God bringin people in- not gimmicks.

  • this reminds me of Newspring and Elevation churches...check out faithful word baptist church to to hear some preaching that rips on these three-ring-circuses!

  • This GREAT! Hats off to the person who had the guts to write this and put it out there. I believe that this is what most people think but they just don't say it. I really do not think it's the number of people that make up this type of church but the message that tries to keep them coming. The heart of the Lord is to restore renew all mankind back into fellowship with him, but he demands more than obligated attendance at a Sunday am service that better end at noon sharp! Keep up the good work!

  • If is about time that a pastor preachs the true word of without sugar coating it. If people would grab ahold of the message that you are sending out from your tv show. They could also experience the presense of the Only True Living in their life too

  • Man this is so funny. And yet at the same time it's so sad that's true!!

  • Truly the Church in America today is no different from walmart, maybe we should call it Wal-Church...no wait, Wal-Circus.

  • I know a few people that need to see this...*Cough* Joel Osteen Joyce Meyers T.D. Jakes *Cough* and anyone who follows them!

  • lol! Totally

    !

  • LOL!!! But the final line is very sobering indeed.

  • Wonderful!

  • Hey... Good stuff..... True.. So very true..

  • Great video.

    And sad, but true.

  • mwhaha I used to go to a mega church.they are not ALL bad.I felt that mine DID make it known WE ARE SINNERS in need of a Saviour. its also nice to be able to HANG OUT in a safe place....and fellowship. We just go to starbux anyway. Most chruches do have coffee after their services r have a kitchin for dinners etc. why not give it to church than sbux? some emergents PUSH conemplative junk and are Apostates! this is not good. But ease up a little.

    A for creativity and funniness

  • Excellent! Square on target! And funny too, if it weren't so tragically correct.

  • So, what you're saying is that preachers who are (a) relevant to people's lives, (b) effective at telling people about Christ, and (c) take people into consideration when planning services are now the bad guys?

Did I miss the part of the gospel message where it says "comfortable seating not allowed" or "don't drink coffee"? The early Church was much more of a social gathering than the modern Church. The modern "high church" is actually an influence of the Roman Empire, not Christ.

  • No, what they're saying is that preachers who sacrifice the Gospel to get people into church aren't doing anyone any good, and they're duping people into thinking that they're "OK" when they aren't.

  • I agree, that is exactly the point. Wake up America, or we will end up like Sodom and Gomorrah if we don't speak the truth of the Word of God.

  • I think you missed the point. What part of ME/you didn't YOU understand. Church isn't about YOU, it's about Jesus and what I can do in his name. It isn't about how can I feel better, eat better, sit better. But to do something I normally wouldn't do, because HE called me to do it.

  • I think of it like a business where all the employees don't want to offend the boss by telling him the truth so they stick to flattery and being nice to their faces only in the seeker-sensitive movement, the unregenerate sinners are the boss of the "pastors".

  • The use of the liturgy and vestments, and all of that "high church" ideas is not a product of the Roman Empire. It is a product of Judaism. It is a product of the Disciples. The early church was much more ordered than you think.

  • But who's listening?

  • So true. Great video. Thanks.

  • bill hybels and rick warren and joel osteen were the inspiration for this youtube clip

  • I guesss this is how our mega churches have been developed.
