  • Idiots, do u actually think tricking and xma is really for fighting? It's just the for show part of martial arts, of course Matt Mullins can fight, he uses taekwondo of course

  • where the fuck can i learn that

  • i d love to see him bring those dance moves to honbu dojo of kyokushinkai in ikebukuro lol

and live to tell the tale.

  • This guy would be rolled by a real fighter.. hope he knows that.

  • @RainboColour

    Matt Mullen vs. Cro Cop.

Mullen loses via death by left Thai kick (lol).

  • This isn't martial arts it's performance gymnastics

  • @HermannTheGreat dude, you need to go away. this is a PERFORMANCE based style that's derived from a bunch of traditional martial arts like karate, taekwondo, and kung fu. if it was "performance gymnastics" he'd be twirling on a pommel horse or swinging from beams. get you facts straight

  • @NateHitpas What XMA people need to do is stop masquerading as if they were real martial artists and just call themselves for what they are which are performance entertainers and part time gymnasts. The entire XMA community has no place in labeling itself as an association of martial artists nor teaching anyone self defense. I think I wrote my original comment months ago, I doubt XMA even exists anymore, it was just a passing fad after all.

  • @HermannTheGreat is that a joke? Extreme martial arts is still going strong and the people involved in it are still competing, performing, and training it all over the world. You my friend need to get your facts straight because no where does anyone say that XMA is used for self defense. Everyone who trains this comes from a traditional background (Taekwondo, Shorei Ryu Karate, Kajukenbo, etc) and is perfectly capable of handling himself in a real world situation.

  • @NateHitpas "Extreme Martial Arts, referred to by the brand name XMA, is a sport that combines elements from martial arts, acrobatics, and gymnastics,[3] with an emphasis on showmanship." [4][5]

accompanied by dramatic dance or programmatic music.."[6]

  • @HermannTheGreat Matt is a teacher of mine and he does really well as an actor, stuntman, and martial artist. Besides just because you see flips doesn't mean they're gymnasts. If you can tell me the difference between a full double leg twist and a regular layout I'll be more inclined to believe you but for now, keep your ignorant comments to yourself.

  • @NateHitpas

"Dramatic Dance" "Gymnastics" "Emphasis on showmanship" Apparently the creator of XMA was the Blue Power Ranger at one time, and all these quotes are taken from his Wikipedia article on XMA. You kid, seem to be ignorant about your own teachers and the origins of the gymnastic dance art you claim to practice.

  • @HermannTheGreat First off, ITS WIKI! like seriously? haha and second off, Mike Chat created the XMA Program at his school in California where movie stars go to learn stunts for films. That doesn't mean everyone lives by that code. You really need to witness a NASKA tournament or see a Sideswipe show to understand that everything we do is completely different from the "XMA" program created by Mike Chat. I'll keep shutting u down if you keep dishing out Wiki-oriented facts.

  • @HermannTheGreat Don't pretend like you understand any of this because until you experience it or live it, you can't act like you know what your talking about. Cuz frankly you don't. Peace

  • @NateHitpas Sorry that you can't take the truth that your own XMA creator wrote in his own Wiki about XMA. Sucks to be you, have fun with your dramatic dance.

  • @HermannTheGreat it was a huge fad ur rite abut that but its still going its not dead... these ppl obviously know they cant use all the moves they've been taught in a fight. ur jst stupid thinkin u know everything

  • sfigà

  • Looks cool.

  • mamma mia! bello e bravo!

  • lol this is silly.

  • XMA will make you movie good. It will make it LOOk like you could kick the ass of 25 guys at once.

  • nothing is wrong with playing videogames most people do nowadays

  • But perhaps he should follow your shining example and fight full contact.

It seems to be working out so well for you.

  • my comments are not directed at Matt, they are directed at all the people who think that if you can do backflips and do air spinning triple kicks means you could use that in a fight. What Matt does is very impressive and I'd like to be able to do that. I simply chose full contact instead because it suits be better, but what Matt does is for show and what I think is based on the fact that no XMA artists have proved their worth in competitive fighting. And I'd like people to do the difference

  • Erm, irregularzero...

You probably don't realize this - understandable, considering your obviously inadequate mental capacity, porbably due to all the full contact stuff you do, you hardcore ironman - but not all who train in the martial arts train to fight.

Some train for forms, others for conditioning. Clearly, Matt has elected these, and I must admit it seems to be working out for him quite well.

His technique is impeccable, and evidently the result of hard training, fighting or no.

  • So you...look...down on me? How funny is that?

I am perfectly aware that not everybody trains to fight...that is my VERY point...my message is for those who can't make the difference.

Matt is amazing, he does things I couldn't hope to do as of right now, I never said I hate him and , in fact, I'm a fan of his.

But people need to know that not ALL martial Arts are made for fighting...

Now...if you'd be kind, please do not look down on my me, it's very rude!

  • If its not made for fighting, its simply NOT a martial art, its gymnastics, dancing, aerobics, etc., etc., etc.,

  • ....a .....r.......t = ART lol

  • @Alex4124124

    f.....a....g=FAG haha

  • @papagorgio23 LOL I SAW YOUR MOM THE OTHER DAY AND SHE LOOKED LIKE A FUCKING PROSTITUTE. 2CENTS FOR 6 HOURS.

  • @w1nd4l1fe LOL...

  • @papagorgio23 Your mom said the same thing when I asked her for a discount.

  • I see you decided to leave Martial out...good job!

  • Fun time for kids. Where do I sign up my 3 year old nephew?

  • i'll make a bet they'll make mullen do a shirtless fight scene in KRDK...drawin in the fan girls...lol! But what if jason david frank n mullens had match who would win?

  • Neither...because neither are actual fighters.

  • good job dude

  • man b spin is freakin hard yet he makes it look so simple

  • Of course he takes his shirt off.

He knows he has a rockin' body.

    BAHAHA

    xD

  • Awsome moves.takes his shirt of a few to many times tho.lol

  • excellent! great technique, impressive!

  • the best!

  • He motivates me to get back training !! thanks Matt!!

  • he knows how to fight. and he's got some insane moves on Kamen Rider Dragon Knight that puts Power Rangers to shame

  • Some wako kids are saying acrobat not fighter. Its hilarious how peoples are usualy dum, if he can perform this tricks, high kicks and so on,what makes you think that he cant kick you like that?

Man got the power, got the speed.

  • BEfore spweing nonsense you should inform yourself.

What makes a fighter is not the fact that he can jump and kick pretty...Have you ever trained in a full contact Martial Art? You train hard to FIGHT and endure pain, endure hits, supress your exhaustion and pain and train solely to hurt your opponent in the quickest, strongest and most efficient way possible. XMA does not train Full contact and doesn't spar...how can you be a good fighter if you never...well...FOUGHT anybody?

  • Trust me, after XMA your normal roundhouse kick, front kick, or side kick will be much much much (X100) stronger, faster, and more effective in a fight. 99% of people who do XMA do normal martial arts along side of it. XMA is just much more training and really helps you get into good condition. and it looks awsome. lol

  • I understand what you claim, however, based on the many years of competitve training I have had, I have to guess that in order to understand a fight( I speak entriely of COMPETITIVE fighting), one must have fought in a competition...maybe MAtt is a very renowned fighter, it would be my stupid mistake not to have verified, but what I mean to say is that Spectacular MA and Full Contact MA are two entirely different things and one does not work in the other...

  • Comment removed

  • >irregularzero: You train hard to FIGHT and endure pain, endure hits, supress your exhaustion...

Lets not forget the 7-hit combo glitch, as demonstrated in your video, warrior master.

  • What are you implying? that because I post Videogame related content on my channel means that I actually not train? What? do I need to plaster thousands of Martial Arts related stickers and show 300 hundreds Training vids on my channel to be taken seriously?...I happen to also Enjoy Videogame as well as Martial Arts...if you haevn'ts noticed...

  • Precisely.

  • Well you have no video on your Channel...should I imply that you are in fact, a grey individual with absolutely no passion or interests in life? Have you ever taken in consideration that my training sessions are not filmed or that I simply don't post my fighting and competition videos on Youtbe because I simply don't care to show it to anyone? What I do, I do it for myself and the love of Martial Arts.

  • irregularzero, u completely missed my point.

and gaBehcuo really? just because he has a video of something that doesnt have him doing martial arts doesn't mean he is a bad martial artist. he just doesn't whore his techniques with the hope someone will praise him.

im a 2 time state champ, with both traditional Tae Kwon Do and XMA styles, and hmm, i have no videos on my youtube.

i don't care if people look at me doing my stuff on youtube, and a truly good martial artist shouldn't either.

  • Sorry, I might have formulated my thought in a wrong way...

What I mean to say is that, at least from discussion I've had, some people think XMA is the kind of Martial Arts that makes you Movie Good, I mean, being able to kick the ass of 25 guys at once. I simply mean to clarifiy that, even if XMA makes you good, strong and efficient, it's not a competitive fighting MA, and that it does not make you strong enough to beat 25 peoples all at once, as no MA is good enough for that.

  • well yeah, when attacked 25 to 1, unless your chuck norris, your screwed haha

that just wouldn't be practical to say martial arts in any way shape or form could keep your protected from 25 guys.

so now you're really off just talking about XMA, because even if you take just normal martial arts or you take both XMA and MA, 25 to 1, not good odds, not good odds at all.

  • Yeah Sorry, I was just trying to clarify this point, I find myself in many MA related debates with people who look down on competitive MA and say this one is better or this one and some of them are not even fighting related, some says Yoga is deadly and such...So I tend to wrongly put everything in the same boat trying to defend my own MA against other stupid practicers that didn't understand no Ma is superior to another one.

  • Yes, I am a grey alien, Nintendo master.

  • Ok, you have convinced me you are a troll, I have no more time to waste on you.

  • Yes, your time is much better served figuring out the death punch feature in Karate Champ.

  • mma will beat the living crap out of you

  • is matt mullins gay. he is hot but yet there's something queenie about him

  • i hate how guys think that their soo cool that they can rip off their shirt. wow, its really hard to do that. not...

  • i agree with that.. they have rippable shirts on the sideswipe website as well lol

  • that's some wackness

  • acrobat not fighter.

  • shut up you could not do that

  • Just because you're into Gymspazdicks doesn't mean it's a good fighting style.

  • yeah but hes also a 5 time world kickboxing champion

  • @ZTavares24

He's nothing against a Fedor or Anderson Silva, or even a lessor rated cage fighter for that matter.

    Please.

  • first of all this is xma.... not MMA.. why on in gods name would you even compare the two. xma is just performance. MMA is for entertainment fighting. MMA is not a true martial ART although it contains martial skill. it is not an arth becuase it contains absolutely no discipline...body or spirit. but im not trying to say they are worthless... they are infact great fighters. they would eat me alive.

  • @chetaloris1

MMA contains no skill or devotion---have you ever practiced submission fighting, Muay Thai, or any other related MMA oriented styles? I have. That's the biggest gross assumption I've read in a while. Rethink that for a moment, please.

My beef with the fancy attributes of XMA is pragmatism. Yes, you're correct that XMA is performance driven. I'm not against 'traditional" arts, but people seem to still confuse what looks awesome with what really is useful.

  • @Wytchfinde u got a point about the mma that is goin on today they jst wanna beat up ppl and be tough thinking theyre the shit cuz they practice mma... im sure if they fought a pro of one of their fouinding martial arts then they wouldnt stand a chance.. i really thnk they shuld stick to one styke and then gradually move up to other styles

  • @dggame7 "im sure if they fought a pro of one of their fouinding martial arts then they wouldnt stand a chance.. "

I wouldn't be so sure of that---the point of many mixed martial artists is to be a good over-all fighter, but in the cage you also get to test your root style out . . . a lot.

It's not to say, for instance, a good boxer is better with his hands probably moreso than someone who is in MMA. But it's not to say that a cage fighter can't use his hands, and so forth.

  • @Wytchfinde i know wat ur sayin but a mixed martial artist shuld have a foundation first so they can understand the other ones better at least thats my point of view.. some studios that deliver mma give u a mix of everything and u wnt get the gist of any of the martial arts.

  • @dggame7 Heh, my foundation would have been TKD but I don't remember much of it, it's been so long. I fight more like a Thai boxer or grappler for obvious reasons, although I've done a few Filipino/JKD like movement while sparring, even using trapping to block punches without thinking of it. I had some exposure to that as well.

Yeah, feel free to talk shop any time. BTW, one of my current instructors does both MMA and traditional styles; I'm from the "whatever works" camp.

  • @dggame7 " u got a point about the mma that is goin on today they jst wanna beat up ppl and be tough thinking theyre the shit cuz they practice mma"

MMA is (in part) about testing your skills. I've done Thai boxing, boxing, and BJJ (as well as more "traditional" ones a bit like Judo/Karate somewhat) and with any CONTACT style you will know what level you are at by---at least---moderate contact with other various opponents/fighters. You won't ever know if all you practice is kata alone.

  • @Wytchfinde i get wat ur sayin kaatas are just mainly to improve ur condition and footwork and body placement to get btter coordination..im in the same boat as u practicing all those martial arts but alot of the ppl now are really just into the fad and alot of them think theyre tough..

  • @dggame7 Obviously, I'm not saying katas don't help anything (nor I am creating a strawman with your assertions), In fact, it did help with my base a bit when I did Karate and was practicing BJJ with Judo. They aren't useless by any means, but sparing in any style does help gauge where some is at compared to those who do little or none.

  • @Wytchfinde I have to agree with you there my friend but at the same time the flashy moves can be handy, but as you said you cant confuse the practical moments to use them "its all situational" if you get my meaning.

  • @Wytchfinde and some people want do defend themselves but don't want to take the state of offensives if there in a situation

  • @Wytchfinde omg well said, i agree ppl can't tell the difference, they make fun of xma because its useless in a real fight, but what they don't get is that its completely for performance. every martial arts system has its pros and cons, xma may be useless in a real fight but at least you get to look cool, and mma is great for fighting but when someone tells you to show off your moves, what are you gonna do? beat up and wrestle an imaginary person? no id rather do an elegant 540 kick.

  • @chetaloris1

The reason why I'm comparing the two is that (even now) much of the public is still under the impression that guys like Matt Mullins are the epitome of fighters. If someone wants to practice arts for self-improvement, health, or achievement, I have nothing against that. But I don't care for the illusions of what practical application is and what it isn't.

    Hope that helps.

  • gooood goood

  • hes awesome
