  • django does go well with a cool glass of absinthe in the afternoon

  • Bottoms up!

  • Thank you for sharing I was curious to see what that Absinthe looked like and its Loucheing Properties as well as the end result. Now I can go ahead and order one for the collection. People soon forget that it was the German and Chech companies that kept the WORD Absinthe on the market, as low a quality as some of them were they were still versions of the recepie. The Swiss were making it but good luck at the time finding it. At least we don't have to worry about that anymore, Thanks again.

  • what means the "20" on the dish?

whas that the price in old france? 20 sous? maybe

  • Look, Czech's make great beer, but not absinth. The absinth they make is just an empty liquor that's artificially colored and contains no herbs.

  • You're an Idiot.

This is about enjoying the drink and not binging.

  • Is it just me or is the guy in this video in one hell of a hurry...? And what's with the flashes?

  • Stay away from all Czech absinths, or should I say, crapsinths.

  • I have a feeling that is indeed what they're saying... and they are correct. There is 1 exception that I know of, so I guess it's not fair to say it's "all" shit. Just 99% of it. Why?... Flawed method of craft is the biggest reason. And they have no incentive to change it because it's cheap and they already have a target audience to sell their swill to (ignorant neanderthals that like to set shit on fire).

  • great video!

  • Simply beautiful.

  • check out absinthKITS dot COM

  • Do you mix the sugar with the ice before pouring the water?

  • have u seen ur own vids ???

    stfu

why look up abs if ur not interested?

  • he commented on my video

  • You have no idea who you're talking to. I'd LOVE to see your "absinthe experience", I'm sure it's comical. If he left a derogatory comment on your video I'm guessing it's either because a) You didn't have real absinthe, b) You didn't prepare it properly, or c) both "a" & "b".

This guy crafts the best commercially available absinthe in the world, and for the record he's not overweight either. For the the likes of you to try to insult him is comical.

  • It doesn't matter though, because as long as Hollywood keeps making movies like From Hell, uneducated fucktards will keep lighting themselves on fire and thinking Sebor is actually real absinthe. Most people nowadays cant be bothered to research the subject and get the facts, too busy "pimpin out" their myspaces and whatnot. Is this dialog mature enough for you? Do you also appreciate honesty?, because that is what I'm giving you.

  • Sebor is garbage. I've tried the bad/fake stuff in addition to good stuff, if for nothing else than an education. The only secondary I get from Czech swill is an upset stomach, nothing more. The best "feelings" Ive had from absinthe came from quality brands with low thujone levels (Jades for example). This makes it hard for me to buy that thujone has anything whatsoever to do with "supposed" secondary effects. Its an old wives tale

  • Have u tried absinthe with more than 35% thujone?

    if yes :witch brand

  • absinthe with 35% thujone does not exist...35% thujone is extremely high....i think you want to say absinthe with more than 35 mg/kg that is the maximum legal level of thujone in absinthe(and generally in spirits labeled as bitters)...

  • yes that is what i ment. king of spirits gold has 100mg(150$) but is czech and flavour/aftertaste sux:)

    French/swiss still best

  • Properly distilled absinthe simply wont come anywhere near those levels. Most of these companies dont have the proper equipment to test thujone levels accurately, I guarantee they dont have as much as they claim. Of course with a cheap M&M you can throw as much of that crap in there as you want, but it's not safe to ingest. Stay away from mix & macerations.

  • I've had KOSG, Logan Fils, & Strong 68. I got better secondaries from Jade N-O, Duplais, Francois Guy, & 1797 Roquette. MUCH better. All are far lower in Tjone content.

  • That's been my experience as well. I've had KOSG and a couple of other Czechsinths, and not only do they taste awful, but all they do is get me drunk. The fabled "absinthe effect" (which, btw, is subtle, which is why absinthe wasn't banned decades earlier than it was) has little if anything to do with thujone.

  • yess

  • How about Century 100?

  • Also, reply w/ verbal attacks if you must, but mature dialog would be appreciated.

  • Most Czech absinthe is not very good, but Sebor is an excellent absinthe. The alcohol content is slightly lower than many "authentic" French/Swiss absinthes. The very high alcohol of those get you to drunk before you can feelly much of the thujone effects. Sebors lower alcohol content lets you feel more the effects before you get the alcohol buzz that defeats most of this feeling. You will not "trip out", but there is a definite feeling other than just the alcohol effects.

  • Robert, that is precisely the problem, the crap you drink IS basically vodka with food coloring because you are drinking Czechsinth. It may be hard for you to believe, but there actually is real quality absinthe out there. Idiot college kids like you on a hellbent mission to set everything on fire are the douchebags, and people like you iritate the hell out of me so I'm gonna let you hear about it.

  • Did you have to use an Alandia product? Or at least they didn't actually make it and had someone who knows what they are doing. But, I haven't personally tasted this one. Samples welcome!

  • dude, YieArKungFu, your a douchebag. you are totally stuck up about your bullshit absinthe that is nothing besides vodka with fenel and food coloring.

  • It's nice and herbal, very crisp and fresh. Green anise and wormwood are not overpowering, it's very soft. With sugar, alpine flavors are coming.

Not as complex as Jades absinthes (but same historic production) but a worth try !

  • Sounds nice. Louche appears a tad on the yellow side, or perhaps that's the lighting or focus making it appear that way? I also prefer the reservoir glasses, I find the dip does something for the louche. You've got alot of balls tapping the glass with the spoon like that. lol

  • Bravo! Now you have shown everybody both the old school & new school louche method. Most people are now going the way of the brouillee because it keeps the water as cold as possible, improving the louche and taste. I am included in that catagory. What are your reviews of the Maison? I'm considering acquiring a bottle of it.

  • Yes, bravo! The douche is the best part.

  • It's no wonder you think that way drinking the Czech stuff, because it is basically douche.

BTW... adding burnt sugar to douche does not change the fact that it is douche.
