  • next upload : Pete Thorn on the G-Spot :D

  • Does anybody know what head switcher he is using?

  • This dude seems totally cool, and nice of him share his rig in such detail. I actually think this dude taught me how to play Paranoid Android in a youtube video about a year or two ago - funny had no idea who he was, thought he was just some dude with solid chops.

  • there is 7 pedals here and 2 heads, but there is only 5 loops... the math does not add up :).

How is he connecting to the heads? Looks like he is using 5 loops for connecting the phaser, lovepedal, fuzz, box of rock, and flanger. But where is the Line 6 Rotovibe & eventide connnected?

Is one loop going out to a different looper controlling which amp(preamp part) to use, and then the out on the g-system going into > return of which head?(PT-100 or divided by 13). You dont want delay pre dist.

  • @knikk77 the g-system has relais outs to switch the heas

  • @knikk77 Perhaps he has a couple of effects in the same loop. On my Carl Martin Octaswitch, I have eight loops but 11 pedals. All my modulation effects are in one - because it's rare you need a chorus plus a flange plus a phaser, so I just switch on the one I'm using for that particular song before playing and the loop brings that modulation in when I need it.

Or he might have something more complicated! :-)

  • wahahaha.. yeah.. he sounds like brian

  • i just realised that pete sounds remotely like brian griffin

  • too much stuff...

  • bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla

  • yes too many shit

  • to many shit

  • wow! Thats a hell of a set-up!

  • black hole sun is a great song

  • I'm wondering how he's running the head switcher. A lot of head-switchers can't run with effects in the FX loops due to the load in the amps and the delays that feed it after switching from heads. If you guys know how he did this, please tell me since I'm running a Tonebone Headbone VT myself with 2 heads.

  • what i think he's doing is got his head switcher just for center cab in the insert loop of the g system and then the outputs go to a stereo power amp to give him the wet dry wet thing and because he's switching through them the speakers all get the same signal... if thats right but i think thats an awesome rig neither the less

  • That's seems presumable, yeah! This would just give him the ability to change amps whilst having the wet signal come from a whole different amp. Sounds safe!

  • yeah it really does sound awesome i guess he's using a carvin power amp? i live in the UK so i couldnt tell you what model carvin but i think it sounds really nice as poweramps go

  • @samgam69 I guess he is using the carvin power amp for the Axe-FX, cause modeling stuff needs clean clear poweramps.

  • @samgam69 He also uses a midi-based Randall poweramp...

  • ah right, thats awesome. i looked at the axe fx lately, its freaking incredible man it makes sense to have a decent power amp for it.

  • TC: Great gear, superb sounds and functionality.

    I have a G-System and it's awesome.

Thank God TC pulled out of the 'merger' with Gibson. If Henry J had got his claws into TC he'd have ruined it all by now, like all the other acquisitions he's done.

  • Yeah i know! I love TC electronic. It seems like they're a 'real' company for musicians. Not money making corporate bastards in suits working that only look at the numbers.
