@xClown55 It's a 26 episode (or 27, can't exactly remember right now :P) anime and there are two movies. The movies are just better animated versions of the first and second half of the series with some scenes cut out to make the 2 hour run time possible. I highly recommend it, it's definitely one of the best and funnest animes of the last few years.

@vampireXD50 :Lets put it this way, this is the equivalent to an EPIC in literature, their is literally no way any american company could imagine pulling off a series like this. Especially with the final battle scenes which "word of god" took more than 3 months to make because they wanted to make it as epic as fucking possible.

The entire series basically does a "the evolution of the Mecha Genre", with the arcs being

1: 60-70's

2: 80-90's

3: 90''s and up
