I was there and I can tell you she pleased a very fussy New York City crowd. No, not like Johnny would do it, but she did it her way; and it was wonderful to hear someone so young appreciate Johnny's music.
Ok, this may not be to the liking of Johnny Mathis aficionados; but as a Melinda-fan I like the way she interprets songs. I don't think Melinda ever goes for a note-by-note imitation. How about this: millions of her fans will be exposed to Johnny's music through Melinda and they may want to hear the originals. Win-win?
You have a good voice but this is one of MY favorite songs and you've changed the melody too much. This song was written for a 1959 movie with the same title as the song. Melody by Alfred Newman and lyrics by Sammy Cahn. I realize the melody might be your individual interpretation so I'll give you a 5 for effort.
