  • Thank you dude. This is the exact kind of effect that I've been searching for, I just didn't know what it was called. It was very helpful.

  • Now I can make snare rushes!

  • highly highly highly recommended for drumes, bass, vocals, EVERYTHING! Its amazing how it ultimately is YOU who decides how it sounds, the way you can sit down without sound with these techniques in mind, and draw on paper how you wan't your music to "look like" Hope you'll here some of my S**T one day, lookin' forward to posting it to you guys!

  • THANK YOU!!!! so simple, yet so mind blowing!

  • I love that effect ^.^ Take my soul

  • I cant automate the sample start in NNXT, Bollox :( must be a way around it?? nvm I will stick with the NN19 :)

  • Awesome Awesome Awesome, this is exactly what I have been looking for for ages, and it's so easy to do. Thank you soo much. LoL all my tracks are gonna have this effect in from now on roflmao. ;P this works in the NNXT also, and although I havent tried it fully yet I'm guessing you will be able to do all sorts of other stuff in that unit in addition to the effect in this video.

    Meth......

  • i am incredibly grateful.

  • Hey, how do you do this with longer vocal samples? The sample start knob only allows about 3 seconds worth.

  • use a program like audacity to cut it up.

  • So, cut the original sample into a few pieces and do it to each one?

Wouldn't it be hard to align them all without there being a really obvious break?

  • you could cut them when there 's silence between words in the vocal track. You'd never tell.

  • sorry to tell you dude, but there's some stuff you just can't do without technology helpin out a little bit. a lot of us can make great music without it, but sometimes it's just not the same without all those little glitchy soundin fuckers in there.

  • Nice one. the world sounds like that when I take ketamine

  • TAKE MY SOUL

  • man i never knew this could be done this way, thank for the info.

  • dude

    awe some

  • W::O::W

    Wonderfull -- Tnx!

  • Never heard about this way to do timestretching!

  • Awesome!! I've always wondered how that was done!!! Thank you!

  • that is great, I used this on my track Im making very nice. Thanks

  • I'm having a problem- there are two "Open File" icons in the NN-19. The one to the left overrides the one on the right. And you opened from the one on the right.

How did you make it so the second "Open File" icon is the one that predominates? Is it as simple as clicking one of the options on the sampler?

  • Doesn't matter. I figured it out. Right click > Initialize Patch, lol.

  • Does anyone know how to do this with Reason 4?

  • you can use the nn-19 just the same in reason 4, some of the control lanes look a little different but the functions are still there

  • This is pretty cool. You can put the NN19 inside a combinator, assign one of the Rotaries to Sample Start, and then use an LFO to control the sample start and use a Matrix running at 64th notes to trigger the sampler. Exact same concept but with a little bit more flexibility, plus you get to avoid using the wretched Reason sequencer.

  • I've done some stuff like this, but I used the Redrum device instead...you can set up notes in a drum pattern to save drawing them in manually, and with help from the new tempo automation features in Reason 4 you can get some pretty varied sounds out of it.

  • What is the sample name or sample pack, i have listen in some famous trance track of the 2000

  • excellent. thanks man

  • wow youre a dick

  • Man this is great, haha. I've been using FL for about nine years now and recently switched to Reason, it's amazing how much you can do with the given devices. Thanks muchly!!

  • Why doesn't the Sample Start knob work for me? All it does is make the starting "grain" fade out for me.

  • Maybe the sample you have is too short?

Try opening a longer sample, like a voice sample, and then use the sample start to scan through it.

  • @crieswhicharewings turn your sustain button to full!

  • Awesome!

  • Oh my god... that was so inventive! :D You can use that for a REALLY good electronic voice! :D WOW! THANKS! is all I can say! :D

  • Or u can setup your mic through the vocoder with a synth :)

  • thank you

  • wow....I had no Idea that was so simple!!!! hahha great job thanks!!
