Mayhem is awesome i had the corpse paint of dead from mayhem on during Halloween and everyone though i was one of the fags from kiss it pissed me off.
It was the style of black metal. The lo-fi cheap as shit, multi-track tape recorder style. Alot of bands followed Bathory which alot of people see as one of the forefathers of black metal.

Dimmu borgir is TERRIBLE, jeez, you guys serious? You eve consider that black metal? Just because they are Norwegian doesnt mean they are true and amazing, lol. I saw Dimmu once and ONLY once, the lead vocals kept saying "Please support norwegian black metal, the true!" haha, he said atleast 6 times, fuckin ridiculous.

They suck ass, I saw them live ONCE, when they were with Krisiun and Cryptopsy (which were way better lol) All Dimmu said after every song, "We are True Norwegian black metal, support us, we are original"

It was the style of black metal. The lo-fi cheap as shit, multi-track tape recorder style. Alot of bands followed Bathory which alot of people see as one of the forefathers of black metal.

Haha, yeah suppose so, once you get used to the style though it's much cooler. I cant imagine burzum with high quality recordings now, it just adds to the atmosphere.
