The Montrose used to be such a great neighborhood. The Art galleries, the music scene, the restaurants and it's architecture, so rich and diverse it's almost all gone. Everything has gone to shits because of gentrification. Assembly line lofts, apartments, condos and shopping centers in their generic styles is whats replacing a once historic area. I prefer to live in a neighborhood full of freaks and fags than in one infested with yuppies.
Your camera's colors are so more vivid than mine. I can't quite figure that out. Anyway, thanks much for the five-star comment (which I am guessing came from you). :-D I really love your video, as do many people in Ohio.
Sorry, I know I've already commented twice today, but this is the first time I've gotten to watch this with the audio (I was at work earlier)... this is HYSTERICAL with the '80s music. Nice work! It's fun to see my new "stomping grounds" in a very different - and, frankly, surreal - way.
This is great, since it's a good chunk of my daily commute in my new hometown, and I can send this to my friends! It's a gorgeous area, even in December. Thanks for posting!
Very interesting and funny video, watched from Holland where its cold, rainy, misty. Fun to see the palms and the trees & sun in December. Do the trees have leaves? They look like bristles. Its another culture, other architecture and so on. Looks a (very!) little bit like "Amstelveen" or "Rijswijk" in the Netherlands, though many things differ. The hotel/house interior does not differ much from a common hotel in Europe/France. Not clear to see that the economy does not go well in the US.
I can recognize the Mecom fountains anywhere! I think I was about 2 years old when I first saw those, I nicknamed the one on the far right the "Jacob Fountain" for some odd reason, LOL. I also remember around the same time (2-3 yrs.) staying once with my parents at the Wyndham Warwick hotel across the street, and smashing my fingers in the closet door there. A good shot of the former Warwick is 51-55 seconds in, I see it's now called the Hotel ZaZa. Brings back memories!
In Houston they might...In my area (West TX.) they were still all green until about 3 weeks ago when there was a freeze and all of the leaves fell off the trees still green. We really don't have much fall here, it pretty much goes straight from summer to winter.
We actually had some snow the night before! Although this day the highs were probably about 70 degrees. It was really weird to see palm trees coated in snow.
I sure miss home!

Loved the Live Oak trees, I'm thinking of visiting Houston to see if I like it or not so I can make a good choice on moving in the south.

It's so strange how things you see everyday can seem magical when they are recorded. Even the radio station and the gas stations.

Wow, I love the place!
How much is the rent? (If I may ask)
I'm dying to move to Houston and in a place like that, it looks so cozy.

Houston has the same climate as the Philippines. You'd never see a snow day too often in December here. December here is like fall up in the north.
