The part you don't seem to be able to do is quite easy, and it's actually not the final boss. :p

Keep to one side and just avoid the ball by going up and down when it comes, and shoot up at the green stuff at the sides.

I don't consider the double shotgun, blue robot drone boss to be stupid, it is more of a sub-boss and like a henchman to final boss so it has a reason for being redundant and easily disposed of.

When I beat this game the first time adn saw the credits, I was like WTF I beat the game as a girl? Then I thought back to the intro and I was like...."Oooh yeah They said Terri didn't they..."

i'm trying to remember the name of this particular late 80s video game..it had several guys attacking you on a subway, street, etc,., and you could sissors flip them, pick up a log and hit them, etc,.,and the first boss was a sumo dude, and you could sissor flip him too..the 2nd boss(or 3rd-it's been awhile), you had this dude ocme out with a trench coat on, and it turned into three dancing wolf-like creatures with freddy kruegar knives on their fingers. ANYBODY CARE TO NAME HTIS GAME??? tnx!!!

I beat the final boss back in the mid 90s before I was in middle school lol.. you needed to just followed the pattern of dodging all three of those balls.. you wouldn't really be able to focus fire at all, you know, trying to stay alive. Did you ever end up beating the game as of now???

I giv it 10/10, mindblowing graphics of its day. The gamplay, hard to stop playing, it pushes you on to keep going, i love this game,loved it back in the day, and i still and still love it today, we need more games like on todays systems, the new raiden game on xbox 360 looks amazing

I still have my copy from way back when. My favorite Genesis game of all time. I could beat it on a regular basis, but it was hard. But not too hard. It was challenging without being frustrating.

Best music ever, along with Contra Hard Corps on the Genesis.

omg dude 3 years ago i picked this game up complete at a swapmeet for 2 bucks complete and clean, i never knew it was worth anything.

this review really made me doubt mark's taste... the game was nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. graphics were nice, but the backgrounds were boring. so was the music. pretty forgettable imo, especially since the game is so short. certainly a nice genesis title, but overall just one of many shmups.

i wonder how mark would react if he played really great shmups like raptor or the exceptionally outstanding tyrian... guess i have to review those myself

i don't know if you know this... but you can make your MUSHA move faster-- press start and press right on the dpad til you see those red arrows above your 'little buddy's form on the top-center of the screen. That'll help you with...well the entire game.

the trick of the final boss is...in phase 1. set your tiny ship into reverse form.. so after you dodge the purple ball (which you will fought that in phase 2) attack the green ball with your tiny ship head front and if you have the level 4 green laser it really useful.after you destroy the 1st phase.. you will fought the purple ball in very thigh lane.. and it really hard..if you know..i have 6 life..and when i finish the game.. i have only 2 life left and 0 tiny ship..it really hard

wow the final level i beat this game to beat the very first boss..you have to set your tiny ship into free form that way one tiny ship will stay in the front and keep shooting the boss and it the tiny ship doesn't get hit that way you don't have to lose your green beam...but the hard part is when you fought the final boss

this game really stood the test of time. i been playing this and really its better than alot of the newer released shooters. im not gonna lie some of the newer shooters are of course def amazing but this game honestly was better than alot of em.

which was really amazing to me. its just pure fun.

and man can i say the music? the beg music on this page is my favorite music in the game also.

The game is GOOD but I think the review, although explanatory, is too extensive. It's just the same thing again and again. In my opinion SHINING FORCE II is the best sega genesis game.

SF1 and 2, phantasy star 4 etc. i lost em all or broken em. i started to really care for my games vrom PSone beginning era which was 95ish...i wish i took care of em way before,

I don't know if it's better than Radiant Silvergun, but it's damn close, it's definitely in my opinion the greatest shooter of the 16-bit era.

You never mentioned that you can pause the game and change the movement speed, it wasn't really important but it was pretty cool to be able to do so.

You destroy the green globes. That's not technically the end boss btw. There's a second stage to that boss and then another boss after that.

MUSHA is one of those games i wanted to get sense i see it on Gamepro TV in the early 90's wend they were telling you a cheat code for the game i see it and i dots the game look really cool and i wanted it but ! at that time i didn't have a sega genesis system intel 2 months leather i.e. own a the system for the first time and the first game i had my eyes on for 2 months was MUSHA ! but i couldn't find that game anywhere they stop selling it in was possible to look for

To beat this boss I set my ship "buddies" on "free mode" so they can concentrate their fire on the green balls while you dodge the giant moving ball. The center thing can't take damage. Watch the sides more too. I noticed that you died just from slamming into the side walls. After you defeat em you then chase him down (alien baby in the big ball) and finish em off! Try it again and win!

oh yeah, and the farther back you go the more disadvantaged you are. Not to be a hater but this boss is not that hard, I beat this when I was like 8.

Don't touch the side walls, get up close to the green circles, dodge left and right, the "head" doesn't cause damage.
