  • @mjjcng8958 COOL STORY BRO.

  • @quicksliversbutt lol bro i am a lady. lol :)

  • Está bien, soy yo doce años y se puede bailar mejor que esto

  • 3, 4, 6, are they not counted?

  • linda mujer, mejor q aprenda a bailar.

  • @cw0069 callate pinche puto maricon

  • jajaja, it is not the counting.... they believe to be danding "on2" = they have no idea on how to dance salsa.

  • shit !what happened to 4 lol

  • i like the girl, i want learning dance the salsa to :-)

    Nice lesson !

  • does this guy know how to count??

  • He's teaching on 2 not one.

  • omg, 4 and 8 is a pause.

  • It's a nice, simple move but his counting is off. Put it on mute an you may learn it better.

  • why do I feel that the counts are messed up? in "cross body" lead, he is already taking forward steps with 1, 2 and instead of taking a side step (to initiate a cross body lead) on 3 he is starting to count 1 again. Right?

  • In salsa On2 you break forward on 6-7, and to the side on 1 to open way for the lady. Then on 2-3 you break back / in place and on 5 turn back to face her. In this particular move the lead moves forward / circularly on 2-3 to pull the lady along.

  • the steps are kinda fast for a beginner like me....i would like to see the same steps in a "beginner" version :)

  • wow. im sorry. i couldnt concentrate on the dance. she was pretty hot. girls like her are reasons to learn to dance. 5/5

  • tree ok!!!!!!!!!!!!! or u never learn.lol

  • Did he Say "at this porno one..." at 0:19? it wouldve been nicer if they played some music and did that suave step after the teaching to see the end result. thanks for the teaching though.

  • Yes, my raza is Jorge (George) Lopez younger version. mmmm, I think he forgot the number CUATRO (FOUR), or maybe he mentioned it in his head after tree, i mean three. I did the same mistake (and still do lol) once in a while.

  • maria is nice, i love my people, "tree" lol. and what's up with the young version of Goerge Lopez. lol i member

  • what is he counting there???

  • he is dancing on2

  • No, he is dancing on his toes!

  • what episode of George Lopez is this?

  • @kyubisharingan

    LOL

  • LOLOLOLOL

  • @kyubisharingan : Hahahahha hahahaha George Lopez, as usual expertvillage is just a waste of fucking time

  • hey juan, keep to jumping fences cause salsa aint your stuff.

  • To many techniques and a lot of counting the only thing you can get from here is to be out of the Rhythm when you're dancing, counting and listening the music at the same time make distribution of administrative powers in your dance (body move)!

better is to learn the basic of Mambo, Chachacha and Rumba which are some Salsa basic steps! then you won't count anymore! you will move bright, luminous and clear when you dance Salsa!

  • It's always useful to see a move in full speed.

  • It's funny but going out and seeing so many different types of women.

    I see Maria look-alikes everywhere.

  • Maria is just SEXY

  • very useful videos. do someone know what is the name of that spin when the girl knees the boy stands and she spins in that kneing position on the floor?

  • my gf calls it a bj

  • Can anybody tell me where can I see "figure of eight " combo ?

  • George lopez!

  • ayyyy que maricoooo

  • why was is..1,2,3...,5,6,7

    what happened to 4?

  • In salsa u dont step on 4 and 8...

u kinda take a break during those two counts

  • u dont count the 4 or the 8 in salsa. if u pay close attention they'r there he just doesnt count em. but they exist.

in other words 3 and 7 are half notes. and 1,2,5, and 6 are quarter notes

  • This girl is pretty hot. It's too bad she has absolutely no chance with me. :)

  • Prob the other way around lol. Remember you are watching HER over the internet lol.

  • I'm so excited to start salsa dancing. My significant others mommy is going to teach me and my significant other to salsa together! :D

    I'm happy! ^___^

  • putas el güeon pa feo!!!

  • thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhre

  • holding your breath really doesn't have anything to do with kissing.

  • i've always done it this way. I was told to hold my breath whenever I kiss a girl. I've passed out a few times throughout my womanizing days... sad really.

  • basico!!

  • great!

  • are you crazy!! on2 Style is the best!!

  • yes it is definatly when you dance on 1 it looks like your standing still on 3 and 7

  • one two tree hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • so beautiful woman

  • This seems simple once you realize there are two "systems" , do it on-1-style or on-2-style, who cares? (Any convincing argumentation there?) Suave: I think the gesture is surprisingly nice, actually heartfelt / feel my heart. Need to work more on that pause, I shift weight, but don't feel much of a pause as accentuation (?) , or needn`t I bother?

  • Its a musicality thing. When you dance on one all of the breaks in the music (which happen on 1 or 5 typically) are used at the begining of patterns since you're breaking on 1 and 5. When you dance breaking on 2 and 6 then the breaks in the music occur in the middle of your patterns which lends itself to better utilize your patterns in accentuating the music.

  • Aaaaah, yessss, like the most important things in life - do you smouch first and tease later ? or do you tease first and smouch later ? - it is all a thing of experience, dedication and musicality. Always sounds (and sometimes becomes) simple, I still mostly count "left and right and .." so at least I know which foot is due. But kind thanks for encouraging the next few steps, I will keep moving and listening until I hear all there is to hear ...

  • Hahahaha, awesome analogy.

I think tease&smooch is way better, don't you agree?

  • Yes, I see: You are a pro! Guess I am still happy to do whatever I can manage. To my own surprise I have started to dance on two now, do not find it hard anymore, Funny: I actually find the short pause to begin with (on one and on five if you will) gives me more time to figure out what on earth to do next, So as not to bore my hopeful partner.

  • whats the difference with on1 though, u just use the pause on 8 to figure out what ur gonna do next lol

  • that chick got ass for weeks.

  • hot damn.

  • holy crap man ! what` s with your hair huh ? ? ~.^

  • hey someone get gorge Lopez a comb.

  • and a dick in his butt

  • er wth

  • lol

  • plz i need help i want to learn how to dance salsa and i ndt know what to do

    plz help me

  • u live in philly?

  • I didnt understand crap!

  • Hallo Maria?

Would you like to come to Brazil to be my partner dance!?

    I'd love that...

  • one, tri cros seven, one on five! suave, sabor! five, two, one, come back, two, four, ay! two, five dance No! and so....

    Did you understand?

    jajajaja

  • this is a cool video. However, it is salsa on 2. Most people dance it on 1. I would like to see it on 1. I'm just a true novice at on2.

  • the reason I am learning salsa is to meet Hispanic dancers like this female beauty. Thanks for the easy to follow lesson so I can show off at a salsa date I have....

  • yea i agree yall suck at dancing but the reason why its 123...567 is because thats the count for salsa duhhhhhhhhhh every salsa dancer knows that. There aint no 4 in a salsa count...im an adavance dancer and i do all latin dance, hip-hop, all of ballroom, and more. So i think i would know what the count is...take my word. and they do suck ass

  • imaooo...!! shut up fat man...!! in spanish u would do it better...besides u dont dance nice ...puaggg ugly couple

  • What happened to number 4? how come it's always 123..567 123..567

Don't you know how to count?

  • Hahaha...

Number 4 and 8 are pauses, they count but without any step. For example you can count 1,2,3,4 (pause), 5,6,7, 8 (pause) and repeat the sequence. You know the 4 and 8 are there but you skip pronouncing them.

    Good luck!

  • that girl is HOT!!!

  • it doesnt matter how much this guy knows, when your with a girl who knows nothing, you seem amazing anyway b/c she thinks you know something! lol

  • this guy knows nothing

  • This sucks

  • like your mom...

  • wow i almost hear music while wathing . good job

  • nice rump

  • ok disregard that last comment of mine, i realize now whats going on, haha...im still learning!!!

  • i am a dance instructor, have been for a year now and i just wonder why this guy starts the basic going back and counting 1,2,3 as the back half when i have always seen it as 1,2,3 is the forward half

  • As a salsa instructor for over a year I think you would realize that he is teaching on "2"

  • doesn't that make it a mambo?

  • Not on 2, it is New York style on 1.

    Notice he actually steps on:

    1 2 3 - 5 6 7 -

If it were on 2 he would step on:

    - 2 3 4 - 6 7 8

1234 is the "forward half" (as insanesanta278 puts it) in LA style, but in New York it is taken as the "backward half". There are some more differences among styles, but that's the first thing one usually notices.

  • I think you are referring to the classic on two when you count the 234 - 678. Ive never heard of the New York style on 1, the video shows the guy breaking on the 2 (AKA changing direction), not the 1.

The man himself Eddie Torres counts it as 123-567. Now I don't think he would be wrong seeing as he created the New York Style on 2. If thats not enough to convince you then take a look at the World Salsa Championships on 2 division. They step on the 123-567. Convinced?

  • Well, you've definitely convinced me that I need to learn a couple things, but...

I've tried to follow your advice and watch the WSC on2 videos, and this is what I saw: in three videos I couldn't make heads or tails from the footwork because it was mostly freestyle and crazy spinning. Only in the fourth video (2006 3rd place, John & Liz, please have a look) did I cleary see a pattern for a few seconds (0:28 to 0:35) and John was very clearly stepping on 234-678.

Now I only know I know nothing.

  • Its actually pretty easy to tell from all the WSC video that they are dancing on 2 and have yet to see one where I cant tell. It does however come with experience. I will tell you this, most competitors I have seen at WSC are off timing at one time or another especially when trying to execute a fast routine. Check out the videos from "oliver and luda" to see how the on 2 should be danced, they are the only ones that are always on time

  • For a better example of On1, On2 NY and On2 PR. Check out the following Video.

Oliver & Luda - SalsaWorldFestival 2007 in Rome

  • i didn't say i was a salsa instructor...i said i was a dance instructor...read the comment...i dont claim to have any knowledge of salsa, i was just stating what i have observed, altho thank you for pointing it out to me that he is dancing on 2, i haven't seen anyone around my town that dances on 2

  • its because it is the new york style it is primarily done in new york im not saying only new york but mostly

  • I can't believe it, I know that couple!...She is just MEAN, EVIL in other words, A BITCH...I met her at the New York Salsa Congress a couple years ago. SHE IS A SALSA BITCH.

  • pues yo lo voy a probar a ver qué tal...

  • for the really stupid and ignorant people that are posting mean comments:

if you don't know what you are talking about, you're better off not saying anything...

salsa dancers do not dance to counts, we use to the counts to understand the structure of the song, just like musicians, they use counts when they write music, just ask them!!!

  • mexican!

  • he is just still learning english, but that doesnt mean he doesnt know what he is doing, I bet in spanish he would do it a lot better.

I am peruvian brazilian and I know how it feels to try to speak a new language when you are still learning.

  • really fantastic

for the one they complain why 5 come after 3 : it is princip in cubanian salsa. 1,2,3 pause(4) 5,6,7 pause(8) and because of that you dont say 4 and 8.

  • Actually thats the count for any type of salsa. This one in particular is salsa on2 or aka mambo. salsa (or any music) is played across 2 measures 1234|5678. The basic step is made up of 6 steps using 6 numbers 123 567.

  • On2 and mambo are a little different, but basically that's right. Salsa is a social dance and as such is not really so confined by the counts and structures people try to impose on it. The forms are bases for communication between two people, but they're not gospel and people get too caught up in them. This move is a useful one because it's a fairly intuitive follow and creates a cool effect.

BTW, Waltz music does not count by this convention for a quick example (123|456).

  • YOU SUCK

  • WAIT!! 5 CAMES AFTER 3!!! in wat universe is that true cuz its not rue in mine

  • Haha. No. You step on 5. 4 is the turn.

  • want da ass!

  • because its on 2...

  • This looks like a great!! simple move. The count is ackward. His "one" is a step back. His "five" is a step forward.

  • vertebra

  • bro i ddnt know 5 comes after 3 u dumbass!!!!!!!!!!

  • She sticks her behind out too much. The moces should come from the center core, belly area, here she's to curved.

  • quesa mina baila cualquier cosa menos salsa, se mueve re mal

  • That's a nice simple pattern. I'll have to give it a try

  • SCHOOL SALSA IS WEAK! No SOUL! FUCKING SALSA ROBOTS

  • What?!

  • George Lopez para bailar no se necesita numeros si realmente eres baidor de corazon o si necesitas numeros estas haciendolo mecanicamente no por que sientas la musica

    la original

  • top teachers

  • great moves George Lopez

  • 2 + 2 = five!! LOL

  • one two tri five six seven hahaha

  • on salsa dancing there is no 4 just 123 567!

  • Salsa dancing is done in common time (4/4), so there ARE 8 beats but they just don't say 2 of them because there's a pause on 4 and 8.

  • The music goes 4/4 beats so it's up to you if you to use the beat 4 and 8 as a pause or as a step. 1,2,3 & 5,6,7 it's not a most follow rule it's just the BASIC way, they may be dancing line on2 wich I don't now.

  • no, there is a 4 but on the 4 there's no step but a weight change. Look at the hips of the lady they're moving at 4. But the counting is pretty weird still...

  • lol

That's because 4 and 8 are rests, so he doesn't count them. =]

  • 4 and 8 are pauses and feet doesn't move. Easy, right?

  • yerh lol that's what I was wondering. Where is the 4??

  • i think thers no 4 ... 1 2 3 5 6 7.. wat happened to 4 kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk >LOL

  • show it with music too though. cool.
