  • you can't buy genuine CADPAT, because modern nightvision can't process the pattern through it's lens, just like in the 70's, you couldn't buy swiss alpenflage, because it could deflect nightvision

  • CADPAT is base on pixel greenish, yellow and gray designe for RADAR .....it work for night gogles and UAV's as well as infra RED visors...Yes it do the job when hiding in bush's but still not perfect...

  • everyone knows DPM looks best though

  • at 0:11 on the left is that shirt british army dpm ?

  • @danwormald yes

  • Great video. Just some sweet Canadian military inavation.

  • Not only that it can camoflouge, the disruptive patterns are used to reduce the likelihood of detection with night vision devices.

  • man, i love CADPAT. too bad the BDU's cost $50 :(

  • It's pointless to say "it works" and leaves it as that, as everybody knows camo is relative to an op enviro. At the end of the day you still need a different set of desert CADPAT but one set of MTP does the job everywhere.

  • @alvindurochermtl What is wrong with having a separate set for the desert?

  • @YouReadMyMind common sense? Instead of investing millions into a completely different pattern set of shirts, pants, jackets, helmet cover, rank slides, pouches and rucksags etc DND could have spent whatever little resources they have on better body armour or weapons?

  • @YouReadMyMind i know right, places like afghanistan regular woodland CADPAT is great but the only camo that works virtually everywhere is MultiCam, but CADPAT is still pretty sick.

  • @YouReadMyMind Well in places like Afghanistan there's woodland areas as well as desert and urban so having a multi-terrain camo can really be quite useful in those kind of situations. Just my 2 cents. Take it as you wish...

  • @YouReadMyMind whats wrong is having to put resources in plc and spend time and money for a WHOLE new set of camo BDUs, body armour, helm covers, ruck sacks, camel back, near everything that the CF use 's is in cadpat. so why change from by a set of woodland, a set of desert, to a set of snow when you can have just ONE pair of equitment, with the camo that works EVERYWHERE. Wars can change in an instant especialy in afghanistan, so why wear desert cadpat in a shrub enviro wen u can wear multicam

  • @alvindurochermtl Not really - there are different sets of MTPs. It doesn't take that much effort to outfit men with certain camo depending on certain places of overseas. CADPAT is definantly more effective camoflague.

  • @alvindurochermtl Not only that it can camoflouge, the disruptive patterns are used to reduce the likelihood of detection with night vision devices.

  • @alvindurochermtl but does it do the job well? I disagree with anybody that sais there is a camo that works everywhere cause any camo can work anywhere (snow excluded) but depends on how well it works. bigger then that i'd also say its how it is used more then anything with today's camouflage

  • I think Cadpat works great in most green or desert areas but lacks the in between areas like Afgan. Same with Marpat there is a new camo called AOR3 that is multicam colors with the CADPAT/MARPAT pattern. If the Canadians got that then it would cover everything.

  • @1lostinspace The provinces we are deployed in Afghanistan are all heavy desert/mountain terrian. Even in the forest in those certain provinces it doesn't make much of a difference.

  • Whats in 1:04 cant see anything.
