@thedrummerwithin I was thinking exactly what you say in this comment. I think the ending is comparable though to the ending to The Count of Tuscany, in that both are just incredibly epic and meaningful.
@haydenwce27 Scenes from a Memory is an amazing album. My favorite song on there is The Spirit Carries On. It is absolutely beautiful. Check that out and also check out the album Images and Words. Under a Glass Moon is probably the best song on that one. Hope this helps
I have had The Pleasure of meeting DT back in 94 after a concert in hollywood. They are a bunch of Cool and Talented Guys. Their Concerts are beyond Awesome. I must have been the only Girl in the whole crowd I didn't care I was having a blast. If you ever get the chance to see them Live take it.
@perpetual61 March 22, 2006. I turned 20 that day. I also got an offer to see Dream Theater at Massey Hall from my friend. He had an extra ticket and I (gladly) took it. On top of seeing my favourite band at the time (still one of my favourites now), I had one of the most surreal experiences of my life when two acquaintances from my hometown happened to recognize me in the middle of Toronto after exiting the subway to get into the line for the concert. Only in death will I ever forget that day.
i saw them play this album in Detroit in 2002 with Joe Satriani. It was a great show considering i didnt really know either of them before it. but know im a huge fan of them both. Dream Theatre is one of my favorite bands now.
@aussyt aaahhh, Hey me, nice old username that cannot be recovered anymore. Still loving Dream Theater the same, not to sure about the new drummer though, we'll see.
@FTWker Hahaha que John Myung es un acomplejado? El se ha tirado mas de 10 años en el conservatorio, y puede tocar como le de la gana porque es mucho mas virtuoso que tu te lo aseguro.
Cheers for posting this song up xXSTFDXx , i have all the other saga and ablums except this album (and thus this song). Been trying to listen to it for weeks on youtube but it's all empty and blocked up :/ .
I agree with quadrupleplay , if i want an album i go straight to youtube to check it out first, then buy it.
To continue to block WMG music will get them nowhere. If they can't listen to music here, many will just pirate it instead. Effectively, blocking encourages illegal activity, and will also decrease album sales.
If the only place someone can listen to an album is on Youtube, there's a much greater chance they will go out and buy it than if they've pirated it and it's already on their iPod, etc.
This Dying Soul should be cut at 6:31, since this is where the lyrics to IV end in the booklet.
Oh right, I see what you mean. Yeah, I'll keep posting songs, as long as people keep asking.
As for where to cut, I try to cut all songs in a moment where it won't stop playing too abruptly, if it makes sense, I cut it at 5:44 for this dying soul. I'll post both parts now.
@quadrupleplay i buy all of my dream theater songs. ( i discovered every piece of non radio music on youtube) you explained how it works for me perfectly.
Looks like This Dying Soul is all that remains of the 12 Steps Saga to be returned to full use. Any chance of running this up? To keep these songs up, you can try uploading the entire saga and use it as a way to administer to its target group.
I ignored Six Degrees for a long time, although I did hear it once before the Great Deluge. But now it's getting such quick rotation that I might be able to fully understand the record at some point.
Thanks for the suggestion, will do it. I didn't quite understand the rest though, do you mean that by uploading all the AA saga songs the songs will remain uploaded? I don't get it.
If you try uploading all the songs and use the entire saga as a tool to reach out to its target group (i.e. alcoholics), it can be filed under fair use.
Just uploading a billion songs and saying "FAIR USE FAIR USE FAIR USE" won't cut it. You have to actually display your intentions to use it for a purpose that fair use can cover. I'd describe the music and what it does if I uploaded a bunch of it.
"Great Deluge" = where WMG kicked all the videos out. The entire album was once here in full.
this songs the best

The last minute of this song is my favourite part among all DT has ever composed. It's so intense, wonderful, transcendent.
"Fell down, on my knees I prayed, Thy will be done, I turned around, saw a light shining through... the door was wide open [broken glass]."

Tool is an AMAZING band in instrumentals and I think they have just as much potential as DT. It's just that DT has more good music out.

Don't Mind a long song if it's not that repetitive. Does anybody know if there is a radio edit or something?

i had a 4 minute long radio edit a while ago, it was actually really well-done too. but i don't think it was official

One more suggestion...Blind Faith would complete the entirety of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. It was in one other spot which no longer holds it.
If all these other songs made it through, this one should...
quadrupleplay 2 years ago
Blind Faith is an amazing song, I'll post it. I see no reason why Blind Faith should be posted but not The Great Debate, so I'll upload both.
xXSTFDXx 2 years ago
Any particular reason? The whole album in general is about things that keep us away from one another and how to deal with them.
quadrupleplay 2 years ago
Well the only reason for me really is that they are both freaking awesome songs heh. Blind Faith is up, I'll upload The Great Debate later today.
