Just know that this game is NOT the same game as Phantasy Star Online. It's a totally different story and such. And it's not a massive MMO. Just 4 player online. Still awesome game though with the same sort of gameplay.

Yeah, there are no fees. As long as you have a place you can connect your DS to wifi (like a router or hotspot), it's free. I use my own personal router at home.

No I haven't heard of one of those. If it lets you connect other devices to the internet via wifi, it might work. Maybe you can try it with another DS game.

No jumping in this game. If you want a decent jumping action RPG for DS, try Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. PS0 is still great without the jumping though.

Soma Bringer is indeed awesome. The main draw to this game though is online wifi for up to 4 players. Soma Bringer is more of a single player game with an emphasis on the story. Although there is local multiplayer apparently. Never used it though, no one here has it.

Yes, it has offline. And it's still fun offline too. That would be a dumb move on the developers' part for a game that only offers 4 player online. The only PSO I can think of with no offline is Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst.

It's not turn based like Final Fantasy. It's action kind of like Kingdom Hearts. A little less action packed though.

They don't even LOOK like 5 year olds at all. Teenagers maybe, but not children. They are way too tall. Their clothes and such is just because of the Phantasy Star Universe. Seems closer to the classic Genesis games than the Online series.

The classics dont have as good a look as they were designed for lower res with less complication whereas the Online models and outfits seem to have a bit more personality to each race and class. If this plays like PSU im not gonna bother with it.

I've not played Universe, but I HAVE played PS Online. I can assure you that besides the obvious needed downgrades in graphics, the game plays almost identically to the Online series.

when I about read this in nintendo power I wanted to be a ranger, but my conflict is whether or not I should be a human or a cast. I say this because I know casts cant use technic but humans can so can someone help on this conflict?

I picked a human just because they can use techs. Casts look 10x cooler, but humans are more versatile. XD

Me personally, I would choose cast. Yeah, you can't use techs, but the increased hp and stamina make up for that, especially if you love brute force.

I personaly perfer to use spells ( techs, spells, whatever) mainly becuase I can be a secondary mage, heal without items and have AoE spells, which in my opinion is just as important as having more hp and stamina (in short verstilaty is probly better for my game play style). warp pipe bazooka owns!!!!!!!!!!

Memory and wifi restrictions prevent true MMORPG's on the DS. It just can't maintain massive amounts of characters at stable wifi rates. The gameplay in wifi is 4 player co op. It's very fun though and you can play worldwide with people as if you were sitting in the same room in multiplayer.

That I'm unsure of. I did play the Japanese game, but I was pretty limited as to what items were since I can't read the language. I mostly had to feel around blindly to see what items did what. I DO think I heard something about item trading, and it would be stupid not to have that feature.

I've heard DSi has a better wifi signal strength, but in this case, I can assure you that I've had no trouble or lag playing this on the DS lite's wifi. Either way, hope this comes out sometime this summer. Nintendo Power said like August or something.

Yea the DSi i has an upgraded procceser (from 67mhz to 133mhz) as well as quadurpaled RAM. This means online games are bound to be less laggy. Can't wait to try out intence games like Metroid withe the DSi.

Those upgraded stats cannot be accessed in regular DS games. Only DSi exclusive games and software can use them. Laggy wifi matches are due to a bad wireless connection, not slow speed on the DS' part. PS0 is smooth as silk ALWAYS, but the new Final Fantasy CC Echoes has rather unstable wifi rates. Depending on your wifi connection, the game can get really unresponsive to control, or totally smooth.

The movements, the way it charges, the way it comes in, like every aspect of it is exactly like perhaps a Rathalos(dragon) in monster hunter 3 XD Even the way it dies o_o

well, phantasy star 0, is kinda like phantasy star episode 1 & 2 on gcn, because of the fighting style, and some same monster(also this boss, who is pretty similar to the first boss on the gcn version) anyway, very nic egraphics for a ds game, I love it !
