  • I confess, I watched this video dozens of time. This was the moment that wrestling died for me. I tried to watch Savage in WCW, but WCW, frankly, sucked. Other than the early weeks of the NWO storyline, WCW specialized in taking the best WWF stars and making them uninteresting.

  • Looking back, Vince really aged a lots since then

  • @GalactivaPhantom 18 years is a long time. Savage aged a lot since then (until he died) too.

  • When Vince bought WCW in 01 the first contract he should've scooped up was Macho Man!!

  • Vince has had no problem resuming business ties with people who spit on him, punched him, testified against him in court, sued him, libeled him, and attempted to drive him out of business. Yet there is apparently ONE offense that he just could not overlook.

  • Poor Vince. Sucks to loose a best friend.

  • Randy Savage was Vince McMahon's best friend, someone in whom Vince had absolute trust. He was also somebody Vince had opened up to about his financial difficulties and his fear that WCW could bury WWF - at this time. Randy Savage leaving and taking the Slim Jim contract with him was a huge personal betrayal by somebody that Vince McMahon had let into his life. All of the rumours about Stephanie are absolutely ridiculous, but they were close as well - he was friends with the whole family.

  • @PhilT81 This is true, in Bret Hart's book it says Vince was in tears when Randy quit

  • @BSabres87 There is no place in Bret's book that says that.

  • @PhilT81 That was much less than a full-time load. I mean, he could have let Savage have a 4-month title run.

Also, the way he lost his second title was awful. Triple teamed by Perfect and Razor Ramon, to lose to Flair. I hated that.

  • @PhilT81 One part of this statement is not entirely true. When MM left the WWF Slim Jim was offered to Diesel. Diesel subsequently turned down the offer and suggested to Slim Jim that they keep the MM. Kevin Nash has stated this in a couple of interviews.

  • That kid behind him has a cool hat

  • I think Vince loved Savage more than anyone.

  • One reason he didnt resign was the WWE wanted him to do mostly broadcasting while Macho felt he still had some wrestling in him. I know there are other rumors out there as well but Im not sure Vince knew about that it this time. Later in his life Macho wanted to go back to WWE it just never happened

  • @GLazz85 Randy Savage (RIP was Vince's trusted employees I have to say. And yes He left the WWF/WWE Because of his contract could not renewed at the time. Ted Turner took Vince's Wrestlers or what ever you call em now these days. in 84 Ted wanted to Buy a Piece of Vince's Company. Vince Refused!

  • @HandGrenade72 Really? Wow I didnt know that. Thanks thats a good piece of info. To think if that happened no Monday Night Wars

  • No Body could turn down Turner's $ its crazy!!

  • And Savage was never seen again in WWE.

  • @Edgehead10075 I Agree he was never seen again with the WWE which is a shame. He should be in the hall of fame! Savage came into the WWE in 1985 alongside his Manager Elizabeth.

  • end of an era

  • Somewhere, Savage was sitting at home shouting "oooooh yeeeeeeeeah! I nailed your daughter!!"

  • Well mcmahon. You con(Vince)ed me.

  • WOW this looks so crisp is this from a dvd or something?

  • this was such a classy, touching sendoff in a business that is not known for producing that kind of sentiment or emotion...its crazy that Savage never stepped foot in a WWF/E ring again. I know the rumors that are out there, but still....

  • I'm sure he was dreaming of Machoman being hanged when he said that. Machoman was right to leave as he was unappreciated and underpaid.

  • Randy wanted an insane amount of things to resign with wwe at the time....a 3 million dollar contract, a slammy award, a run with the belt, a product line called "Macho Nachos" and a mascot called the "Macho Manatee".

  • @fearthewrath2000

You have a dirty, lying, whoreish mouth

  • Nov 7 of what year?

  • @toucansam3 1994

  • Love him or hate him, That was heart-felt and big of Vince. I respect what he did Vince did in this segment.

  • Randy wanted to be an in ring preformer and at this time McMahon kept him in the seat of a commentator... thats why Randy bailed.

  • At the time, Vince was just known as a commentator; only the workers knew he really ran things.

  • @MobKnowledge This was actually months after the steroid trail ended so more people knew about him running the company than just the wrestlers.

  • @NJ973201 Ah, I was always under the impression the public only knew him as a commentator and announcer until Survivor Series '97, because that's when the evil tyrant Mr. McMahon "character" got its start. I stand corrected.

  • @MobKnowledge Vince @ the time he did not want people to know that he was the owner of the world wrestling federation / wrestling entertainment. Till November 9th 1997 when he steeped away from the announcers booth.

Vince exposed himself as the owner of the WWF/WWE at Survivor Series in Canada of 1997.

  • @JRyanBrooks101

Fair enough dude jeesh. You should research DMT, its more important than petty quarrels about dead wrestlers.

  • @JRyanBrooks101

Thats why i used the words apparently and maybe...

  • @JRyanBrooks101

apprently randy fucked stephanie, maybe thats why

  • @JRyanBrooks101 I don't believe either one, the punch or sleeping with Stephanie

  • Wow That's the young Vince before he became the bitter and old douche he is now

  • @ElectroX24 You know him do ya?:)

  • Why does Vince look like he's about to cry?

  • @forevercold88 Because Savage was his best friend in the business and he left for WCW taking the multi-million dollar slim jim deal with him in a time where Vince needed that money, hence why he probably ignored him for the next 17 years.

  • nice

  • Vince fired Savage back in 1994 because of a personal feud and then gave this speech.Man what a low alike person.

  • @DrKevKangs Savage came onto his daughter steph..

  • @DrKevKangs Savage left the WWF, Now WWE in late 1994 and it was sad to see Savage leave the Announcers Booth. And Vince had no choice to leave savage go. Still to this day Wrestling Fans, Fans are wondering why is Randy Savage not in the WWE Hall of Fame? I tell you why? I agree with one Viewer saying, If if I am right here. He did not give Vice Notice! But also I do know his contract with WWF/WWE did not re new. With Out Question randy savage will be sadly Missed by WWE Fans.

  • @HandGrenade72 that is not why macho man was not in the hall of fame. vince has forgiven others for doing far worse things to him.

  • @fightlies I Know Vince Has forgiven other I am aware of that. But if came to a deal with the WWF/WWE I agree Savage would have been in the hall of fame.. besides I Like the comment U sent me.

He had a Brother called Leaping Lenny Pafo, who was known as the Genius at the time.

  • I thought I imagined that. Great to see this again. Thanks for the vid!

  • What bullshit!! Vince loathed Savage.

  • thanks alot vince

  • For the people who say that Vince needed Savage to be a commentator because of the younger guys, I ask you this....why is it thaat BoB Backlund won the world title at Survivor Series 94? Also Bret wasn't that young at the time, certainly not. Infact I think Bret is the exact same age as Savage or just a few years younger.

  • Comment removed

  • this was actually meant to stick it to savage, as evidenced by the fact of how they treated him the next 20 years.

  • troll

  • Vince didnt give a shit about losing macho as a talent!,wat "burned the bridge" was that macho man took the multi million dollar slim jim endorsement deal with him to wcw-(yes,it was worth that much!) endorsements are gold-mines

  • you can tell Mcmahon was pissed here, you can just see it in his eyes. Randy ditched the WWF for WCW without giving Vince a heads up which was a shitty thing to do but never the less you HAVE to love the Macho Man. He was such a great guy.

  • U can always tell wen vince is lying,or being less than 100% genuine,he gets that stupid little "half smirk" on his face

  • Macho man was the first wrestler to personally get "future endevored" by vince on live tv!! Lol

  • It was bad enough that people spread false rumors about Randy Savage when he was alive. But spreading rumors about the man after he's dead is just low. There is no truth whatsoever to the Savage-Stephanie rumor. None. Bottom line: you'd really have to be a complete idiot to believe something so ridiculous. Let the man rest in peace.

  • Savage got fired for trying to rape Stephanie McMahon when she was a child, And for some reason,. Vince held it against him, (who'd a thought).

CHRIS BENOIT has a better chance of making it in the Hall of Fame then he dose.

  • @africanslavecock Were you there to see it, or did you get the story from someone involved?

  • @africanslavecock OK if Vince held it in him back then, Why did he not Fire him in the first get go? If that was the case here if that were true, Savage trying to come onto Steph Like that In that Manner. Besides Steph was not the Dir at the time with the WWF/WWE at the time. Flip that, If that were True, Savage would have been In Jail

  • All of you guys saying Savage was wrong for leaving so unexpectedly...you're forgetting that Vince wanted Macho Man to quit wrestling altogether and just become a personality in the WWF. Macho Man didn't want to quit wrestling yet so he went to where he thought he'd have a better shot of continuing his wrestling career as an actual wrestler and not just a commentator.

  • @PhenomZ

Exactly. That's why Savage left. Vince wanted Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash (maybe Undertaker & Yokozuna too) to get the spotlight at this time. I don't blame him for leaving. If I owned the WWF at the time, Savage would have been champion at least twice during 1993-1994. I was glad when he went to WCW since I was mainly watching it over WWF since 1993. It was great to see his ring intensity again.

  • @PhenomZ So why didn't he let him wrestle. I mean to let Hogan beat Yokozuna at WM9 just to get another championship run (where he didn't even defend the title until the rematch with Yokozuna), while keeping Savage as a commentator, was lame?

Why not have Savage be the person who took the title from Yokozuna at WM9 (he was a commentator at ringside already)?

  • @kmg4 Savage actually did almost take the title from Yokozuna at some point around then, he was commentating he didnt like what Yoko was doing confronted him and got a title match on raw the only thing that saved Yoko's title run was they had fuji interfere and get Yoko DQed after Savage hit the Big Elbow drop

  • I'll always be a huge Macho Man fan but I think Vince deserved a little better then this from Savage, I mean if wasn't for Vince's brilliant star making ability (at least back then) Macho Man would be nothing, Vince gave him the break that baseball never gave him.

  • straight after this comment from Vince he aired the Nacho Man commercials lol

  • @KingHotdog Yes, Vice was getting @ WCW Ted turners Wrestling. in the 80s Vince Bought Georgia Championship Wrestling, in 84 Turner wanted to By a Piece of Vince McMahon's Wrestling Company. I saw this on DVD, And Vince Said I know Nothing of your Business. Greedy turner did not like Vince's answer at the time. If you have the DVD of McMahon, you will know.

  • @HandGrenade72 i do have the dvd actually and still dont know what was wrong with my comment its true and thats that

  • @HandGrenade72 WWE's DVDs are just propaganda intended to make Vince McMahon look like Walt Disney and for WWE to look like the Disney Corporation. Most of today's wrestling fans have either been brainwashed by the WWE Universe or are too young to remember that WCW wasn't as evil as Vince and his stooges make it seem.

  • @spinemelter2000 I think WCW's corruption speaks a lot more for itself then anything Vince or the WWE have said about it.

  • @FalseImpressionist75 Look up "WWF scandals" on YouTube. If corruption interests you, you'll have a lot to see.

  • @spinemelter2000 I never said WWE wasn't corrupt numbnutz, just pointing out that fans don't need WWE to tell them WCW did crappy business when most of the internet and people who used to work there did that already.

  • Bret Hart says in his book that Randy called Vince at 4 AM drunk and told Vince he signed with WCW and didn't give Vince a chance to counteroffer WCW's contract. Bret said Vince was visibly shaken. Vince thought Savage was one of the most loyal of his superstar and felt betrayed by his departure.

  • fuck vince!!!

  • All that's left now is for the Macho Man to get his long overdue: PUT HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME FOR CHRISS SAKE, VINCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Screw Vince, that fake son of a bitch didn't want to give Randy what he was worth so Macho jumped to WCW.

  • You can tell Vince was so heartbroken, The Macho Man didn't give Vince warning or a notice

  • @theaterattendee Heartbroken---yeah right. Vince said what he had to say on camera but inside he was probably say "Good riddance, we don't need this has-been" Now that Savage is dead, what's going through Vince's mind now? How about some HOF consideration, finally?

  • @rjm22nd How do you know what's going through Vince's mind? I dare say Vince was the biggest Macho Man mark there ever was you could tell when you watch them together in old videos with them. Vince is a lot of things but he's not somebody who would wish death somebody just because they decided not to resign.

  • @theaterattendee Vince didn't give a fuck! I hope he burns in hell for the things he's done! Fuck you! I'm mad bro!

  • @theaterattendee i heard actually they couldnt come to terms with a new contract because Vince Wanted Randy to be an announcer but Randy didnt want to give up being in-ring performer

  • @theaterattendee vince was pissed cause macho took the slim jim deal with him and if theres one thing vince hates its losing money

  • @GangGreen80 Yeah, I guess it was like adding insult to injury.

  • I dunno... maybe it's because I was there for the Montreal Screwjob, or maybe it's the "character" Vince has played for the past few years, but I just can't take *anything* he says at face value. I find Vince sleazy and tend to think of him as a lying batard most of the time (any time he's talking...)

  • wow, it was so rare back then for WWF to acknowledge talent leaving! and vince actually sincerely thanking macho and saying he is his number 1 fan... amazing... especially with all the rumors going on... it just really makes me wonder... what happened between those two ??? thanks for the upload

  • @orelhai I've heard that Vince had bad blood with Macho Man at that time...

  • @orelhai i want to believe it is bitter people that started the rumours possibly hogan but Macho man was a great talent be it face or heel
