@RicketsXXII It's acoustic - you blow air into it, and when you press on each note the air passes through a reed to create the sound. Some high-end models have pickups built into them but even then the sound is still created acoustically. If you're new to the instrument, I'd recommend something like the Hohner Student 32-key. Jack, you should have made a midi accompaniment like you did for the other one!! Some Jazzy drums, Upright bass, piano and that melody...come on, you can do it, man!!! :-)

You can find many different melodicas online - I got this one through Guitar Center. Since it's not a very common item they had to order it in.
