@lilmissmachiavelli I wouldn't say that unoriginal is the best way to describe it. There were plenty of very original tunes written in the fifties and sixties. With that being said, in those times there was a certain standard, an expected structure if you will, that all pop songs were to follow. Straying from this formula even in the slightest could destroy the hit potential of the song. This is probably why this generation of music can be boring or unoriginal to people.
