  • 1:21 STOP EATING AND GO DOWN THE FRIGGIN' STAIRS!

  • Chickens aren't stupid.. only some chicken owners are!

  • how many chickens? what are they for, egglaying, meat or for pets?

  • are those black sexlinks and columbian wyndottes

  • @tmomof6 Erm... I have read things both by Peta, and by professionals... And I own chickens... And I am very experienced with owning chickens.. by saying "must be" I have a moderate idea of what I was talking about. "Never" was an exaggeration. Ergo, it rarely happens. So take a chill pill.

  • everybody is dumb!!!!!!! Free Ranging is more pleasant for the birds but not for you. Wen you put them in pens they are more safe!!!!! My chickens just stay in a big fenced in area, so there!!!!

  • is the white and black one a silver laced wine dot?

  • It is a Light Sussex.

  • @GivingItAGo we has a sussex

  • you forced it down? you just PWND your own method of making it a safe haven.. fool.

your coop is tiny, i hope you free range them during the day.

dont try proove its big compaired to caged egg layers. thats cruel in the first place, compair it to free range, how they should be.

  • You should watch the previous videos & see where they bought the chickens from. Chickens left on their own DIE, they will drown themselves in the rain by looking up! They kill each other & become cannibalistic, even eating their own eggs. If they were free ranged they would be eaten by neighborhood cats & the like, not to mention they would scratch up the garden.

  • This is so inaccurate. Chickens do not drown in the rain. Will not ever become cannibalistic, unless the pecking order has been completely TRAUMATIZED. Cats rarely eat chickens, it is usually their chicks.

  • Right, what do I know? I never worked in chicken houses, gathering eggs or anything. I never helped my great grand mother put the flock into the coop during a rainstorm, because SOME NOT ALL of them looked up to see what was pattering on them & DROWNED, I dont know anything about cats getting into the coop, wow. Thank you for correcting everything I've learned with your infinite wisdom. Chickens CAN become cannibalistic as ANY breeder will tell you & then you have to cull them.

  • Good, I am glad you have learned something, and I do know that they may become cannibalistic, but obviously the breeders who say so must be awful breeders.

  • @ravenkid33 Your words give your ignorance away, you said "must be" Which means you have NO EFFING CLUE! Chickens are mass produced for food because they are cheap & tasty. & you have also said "they will not ever become cannibalistic" & "I know that they may become cannibalistic" Have you learned something? Please read something by professionals instead of tripe from peta

  • @ravenkid33 They are only cannabilistic with "DEAD" chickens.

  • @buddybleau True, but cannibalism is MUCH more common in pheasants.

  • "They're so stupid...." maybe your the one whose stupid....... u dont know nothing bout chickens...

  • The chickens will come out when they're ready. No need to force them. You're sorta pushing them and crowding them. Just set the food and water out and trust me, they will come out and take care of themselves.

  • you kept them in there far too long! you should of done it in small baby steps. day by day.

  • whatever like you know everything

  • is you white chicken a light Brahma?

  • oops just noticed no 'feather pants' so it's probably not a Light Brahma. Nice chicken tractor!!

  • I think she is a delaware she looks like one.

  • It is a Light Sussex

  • Chickens wee too much!

  • So chickens are stupid because they don't like your unnatural set-up? I'm not saying chickens are brilliant...but if you had a set up the went with their instincts you wouldn't have struggled.

  • my chickens have a cool ramp like the one in this vid

  • chickens r so cute and funny! i hav a chicken and when we let her out she goes to all the neighbours house to see what goodies they have in there gardens... then when she sees me,she comes running, and will follow me!!! i luv ur coop... very well built!!!

  • I can't get this video (Part 19) to play. I can play all your other episodes. Can you check to see if the file is okay?

BTW, I'm in the process of building a similar chicken coop. It's going well, and we hope to have our 3 or 4 backyard hens in about a month! I'm so excited... We're "giving it a go" too! Thanks for the excellent videos!

  • Great video again, i'll be interested in their progress. Their step seemed to be too uneasy, perhaps a more gradual decline would allow for more traction and thus more confident chooks.

  • The problem was not the incline but they were slipping on the gap between the steps. I have now added some extra steps and they are getting the hang of it. Even the Black Rock.
