As though the care, you might even say love, the old man showed for the maggot was somehow transferred to the woman THROUGH the maggot... and after all, the horrific is only horrific insofar as we fail to accept it. Aw man, the tears start flowing when the music starts playing. :'( Especially when she crawls over to the other side of the bed and he sort of beckons her to lie with him.

To me, I think the maggot represented love. And he nourished that love. And he gave that "love" to the woman next door which, in a way, "revived" her. I don't know, but nonethless it is so beautiful! And despite how ugly the characters are, there is some sort of pureness to it. Lovely! :')

The story line is amazing, if not a bit creepy. But, hey, it's wonderful. It isn't cliché and it's original. And, just because I say "creepy" doesn't make it bad. It is its originality that makes it so wonderful and unique, I've seen nothing like it. In fact, it's "creepiness" adds to the likeable story-line, as it shows love in the most interesting of circumstances. Very, very artistic. I know no others who can convey such a range of emotions in to such a short, excellent short-film.
