Cant wait...I wouldnt call myself a "hardcore" gamer, but there was something about Demon's Souls near-sadistic difficulty that made me love it. It gave a sense of accomplishment after overcoming any obstacle.
I think Sony and Microsoft made a deal. Ps3 will get Mass Effect 2-3 and Xbox 360 will get Dark Souls. But sadly it isnt an equal trade. Cuz Dark Souls > ME2+ME3
As much as I adore demon's souls i never got far into it because you pretty much have to rely on info given by other players... I hope this one manages to still be difficult without being overt like it's predecessor. (wishing for a happy balance)

From Software is one of my favorite game developers. I Absolutely love their Armored Core series, but when they decided to go multi platform with AC4 & 4A I was dissappointed. The AC games, they were special to me and it hurted to that they dumbed down the game. It just didn't feel like the Armored Core I loved. I wouldn't be surprise if they do it again.
and hope they add voice chat i hate how demon soul it didnt have any voice chat and tell each other plans how to kill the boss i still like the game. i like chatting with people through video games it make it more better to come team player

If they make it bigger in scope like sandbox oblivion style that would be awesome, on top of that with the unique online the original Demon's Souls has and maybe a choice to co-op with friends all in human form or something while still being able to summon and get invaded by phantoms hah that sounds awesome.

This isn't the Demon's Souls sequel. It has been announced that a Demon's Souls 2 will indeed be made. This is basically just the cherry on top. When this game comes out though, I swear that 360 Gamers wont know how to play and go back to CoD

@TheWeaponsmith69 you've got a point the blu-ray disks that a ps3 uses are double layered and are 50 gigs each and xbox 360 HD disks only have up to 10gb on them (one of the reasons the xbox needs lots of hard drive space) so if they do make this game multi-platform then there going to have to compensate for the xbox 360 version of the game, meaning less graphically and maybe less gameplay and features. unless they make 2 separate versions which is unlikely.

@oyenko40 I dont think that'll happen here. Demon's Souls 1 was a ps3 only game (Which Im pretty sure you already knew) so Atlus knows what to do on the PS3.
@oyenko40 they have to. PS3 is a much better system and can handle much better graphics and more content on a CD, so they have to start on the weaker console, otherwise the xbox would never handle ps3 games.
Xbox games that start exclusive always hit ps3, but never does a ps3 game make it to xbox.
Rockstar had to dumb down GTA4 for the xbox. It would have been better, but microsoft bribed them. fortunately that money is going towards Agent. A new ps3 exclusive :D
@TheKingmanUltra I'd like to think so yes....but most developers nowadays (capcom's the biggest offender) will make it on 360 and port it over because it's easier to do because if they make it for ps3 first and were to port it....the 360 would crash (bioshock ifinite is being made for ps3 first BUT! a downgraded version is being made seperately for 360) it's a sad trend that seriously needs to come to an end considering the 360 is a terrible console and lives purely because of fanatics

Not to mention, sometimes you get PC players talking about the crap graphics on consoles, but you rarely get to see the PS3 shine when it's limited to the graphics of a 360. Nothing against PC, I just hate the elitism at times. I have a 360 and enjoy it for what I get out of it, but the PS3 is the better of the two.

@oyenko40 Well, the PC is generally better for games as far as graphics go, online is usually better with dedicated servers, and as much as I hate to admit it the mouse and keyboard is way better than a controller in FPS games. Someone with only a gaming PC could use it for gaming all the time. BTW, you left RTS games out of it, which are really only on the PC.

Sony published the game in Japan, but didn't in other areas because they thought it wouldn't sell. Atlus picked it up, and it wound up being their best game to date with units sold. Sony has said since that they regret not publishing it in other areas. Personally, I hope 'Project Dark' isn't a Demon's Souls 2, yet rather a game with a different story.

They CAN'T name it Demon's Souls 2, because the franchise is by Sony, and they want to make a MULTI game this time! So this is why the changed the name, anyway "project dark" isn't the final title of the game.

@oyenko40 I dont think that'll happen here. Demon's Souls 1 was a ps3 only game (Which Im pretty sure you already knew) so Atlus knows what to do on the PS3.

@oyenko40 they have to. PS3 is a much better system and can handle much better graphics and more content on a CD, so they have to start on the weaker console, otherwise the xbox would never handle ps3 games.
Xbox games that start exclusive always hit ps3, but never does a ps3 game make it to xbox.
Rockstar had to dumb down GTA4 for the xbox. It would have been better, but microsoft bribed them. fortunately that money is going towards Agent. A new ps3 exclusive :D

@TheKingmanUltra I'd like to think so yes....but most developers nowadays (capcom's the biggest offender) will make it on 360 and port it over because it's easier to do because if they make it for ps3 first and were to port it....the 360 would crash (bioshock ifinite is being made for ps3 first BUT! a downgraded version is being made seperately for 360) it's a sad trend that seriously needs to come to an end considering the 360 is a terrible console and lives purely because of fanatics

@oyenko40 It really is too bad... Not to mention, sometimes you get PC players talking about the crap graphics on consoles, but you rarely get to see the PS3 shine when it's limited to the graphics of a 360. Nothing against PC, I just hate the elitism at times. I have a 360 and enjoy it for what I get out of it, but the PS3 is the better of the two.

@TheKingmanUltra pc gaming is retarded no offense but I'd rather pay 300 bucks for a machine made from the ground up for gaming then around 1k for one that I'll only use seldomly for games because it's not really supported pc's only good if ya want mmo's which honestly (with the exception of ff14) can all pretty much be played on crappy integrated graphics

@oyenko40 Well, the PC is generally better for games as far as graphics go, online is usually better with dedicated servers, and as much as I hate to admit it the mouse and keyboard is way better than a controller in FPS games. Someone with only a gaming PC could use it for gaming all the time. BTW, you left RTS games out of it, which are really only on the PC.

If Sony was smart at all which they are when it comes to making money they would just keep it on the PS3 and make it an even better game that it would be if it were a cross platform one. Just saying this because it usually works that way and if your a PS3 owner then why care but if your an Xbox owner then I see why you wrote this comment.

@TheDungeon86 correct me if i'm wrong, but the franchise i don't believe is by Sony. The developer is From Software who developed the game. Sony published the game in Japan, but didn't in other areas because they thought it wouldn't sell. Atlus picked it up, and it wound up being their best game to date with units sold. Sony has said since that they regret not publishing it in other areas. Personally, I hope 'Project Dark' isn't a Demon's Souls 2, yet rather a game with a different story.

Demon's Souls was the best game I ever played and the best experience I ever had with any game, now seeing there is a sequel / look-a-like coming .. makes me happy to be a gamer :)
