people stop arguing if you know what what you practice is correct then carry on with that you all will get your results at the end who are we too judge only allah has that. simple love allah worship him follow the way of the prophet (saw) and prayer ask for help and right path from allah (swt)
Only those who tried ice cream will know the taste. Only those who practice Sufism know the correct answer and definition of Sufism. Believe ME.....it is unexplainable
'..This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.(Al-Ma'idah, V3)
That's it, the religion is perfect that day, and will be perfect until the day of Judgement and if someone innovates something with the Qur'an and the sound Sunnah then they are saying that the religion is still not perfect, that they can take it up with Allaah(swt).
Why do people look at extremist Salafis and extremist Sufis and think that thats how all of them are like? Meaning, an average non Muslim isn't going to look at a terrorist whos a Muslim and think all of them are like that. You know what I'm saying?
Mashaa Allah-May Allah bless this Shaykh.A very good exposItion of a great man,Imam Junaid,May Allah be pleased with him and a sound critique of the sufi movement, without any vulgarity.Shukran
@555season There is nothing such like Sufis'm In Islam.
A muslim will follow the Quran regarding the Sunnah of Prophet(sal allahu alaihi wa sallam).
Islam is a open religion and also it is completed !
but those sufis saying there is something Hidden in Islam and they trying to turn Islam into wrong way as they(sufis) gone astray.Sufis put lot of Innovation in Islam whic is prohibited In Islam.
I consider my self a Sufi extremist... still, I find this hard to argue with. He didn't really say anything wrong. There is some controversy as to weather everything ascribed to Ibn Arabi was in fact said by him and not counterfeit. There is no doubt that the teaching were followed by some even though they may have been counterfeit. If some one loves the Prophet (SAWS) I don't hate him because he doesn't also love Ibn Arabi. I don't think though, the Salafis I know will be feeling this.
Here's one for you balanced brothers. The Imam of the Salaf, al-Shafi said "Be a Sufi and a Faqih, Don't be just one of the two...(The Diwan of Imam as-Shafi).
I dont understand how someone can be naqshbandi and upon the sunnah because my uncles naqshbandi but their whole tariqah seems to be innovation to the point if someone rejected the innovation from the tariqah their would be nothing left
these riyali powered wahhabi mullahs & their hallmark history distortion are just two centuries old, emerged just after British arrival on Muslim lands with policy of Divide & Rule targeting religion to create divisions. Barking against Sufism, that is in practice among Jama'ah or Biggest Group of Muslims from centuries is like spiting towards sky that fall back only on their own faces without harming even shoe of Sufis. Silly idiot khawarij.
@hammadalqadri: Just ask yourself one question, did the prophet Muhammad (saw) practice any of what the sufi of today practice? If you can't say yes to this one question, then you know that the practices of today's sufis is wrong. ;)
Still discussing about sufism and salaf while our brothers in libya and iraq and afghanistan and in lebanon and palestine are butchered everyday. O, what has come to the best Ummah of our times. So sad the Najdi religion is helping the enemy of islam in destroying the ummah from within by sowing seeds of hate among themselves and made it an issue who are true muslims or not. Shame brothers. Wake up brothers and see around you. We have been slowly destroyed by our enemy.
@zatoichiable: They way I see is that all of what the Arab is going through today is a punishment from Allah (swt) regarding their arrogance and insincerity when it comes to Islam as a whole. I see many hypocrites among the Arabs. Also, the majority of Arabs put more importance toward Arab-ism than they do toward Islam. It's always, Arab this, and Arab that. Until the Arab awakens from his slumber, he deserves all the punishment he gets.
Asalamualaikum brothers of Islam. This will not end. How much longer is this subject going be debated. Will this solve the Muslim problem. Sorry to say this but so many ignorance by the coz of heedless. Remember Allah as much as u can. Is that such a big issue. Yes it is coz most people are heedless, their tounge are like blades but their hearts are like rotten bread. Have we look at ourselves lately ? Pls dont comment back. Just look around and C. Than look at yourselfagainandagain... lol
I believe that this sheikh said it all well. Some sufis these days are really following things that were not part of the sunnah in other words they are deviating from Islam by following their new innovations such as pantheism. Sufis that encourage dhikr and prayer etc are not to be rejected. I just dont understand why the sufis in the first couple of centuries that followed the sunnah and the quran had to label theirselves as Sufis?? why couldnt they just say they are Muslims??
@praiseAllah12: I agree with everything you said brother. Whoever labels themselves anything other than a Muslim, then you are on the path of misguidance. That's what I have always said.
I watched all of it. One thing I do not understand. Dhikr and zuhd was already part of islam. There were of the salaf who choose simpler life and concentrated on preparing for the life hereafter but they never call themself sufi. Moreover, a word sufi was never used by Muhammad (SAWS) and the rightly guided khulafa rashideen. Emphasis on dhikr and worship is already mentioned there in Quran and sunnaah.. Why call yourself sufi
Yes brother, there were many great Sufi Imams during and before the time of Ibn Taymiyyah (ra), but in current times there are many innovations amongst those who call themselves sufi. Insha'Allah, try to listen to the entire lecture, the speaker presents the topic in a balanced way.
@SFAvfx What innovations are you refering to and who exactly of todays sufis do you consider innovators? What do you think of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi?
why are you only quoting one sentence! he is talking about early muslims who practiced extreme zuhd which is fine, not the deviant innovators who celebrate birthdays, group dhikr, etc.
Some people dare to criticize Sufis and the science of tassawuf in claim that they are innovators in opposition to the Prophetic Sunnah, however, the fact of the matter is, they are the ones who are the Mujtahideen striving in the obedience of Allah, just as the people of Sunnah that came before struggled in the way of Allah…
Mashallah!his speach about the tawa'ef as sheikh Ibn Baz rahimahu Llah.about the muslimin not about an entire mazhab or ta'ifa.there are bad and righteous not all in one plate.
There are two type of sufis, the Tawheed Sufis and Mushrik Sufism.
