KM is good but obviously evolved of late. Can't help but notice how much of it's core principals sound a lot like Bruce Lee ideas. Those techniques shown here are crap and will get you killed. Also they are very unlikely scenarios. Eg someone with a gun pressed to your back is not going to shoot you, or you'd be dead already. You try to grab it and he most certainly will. Similar scenario if he's pointing a knife at you. Unless being told to do something you'd die to avoid, this is not a good i

If someone pulls a knife on you your best bet is to use your belt, jacket or loose change to stop the attacker, then leave the seen. These moves are gonna get you cut real bad. Please refrain from this type of defense. Krav Maga is a very good self defense system, but no one should fight with his bare hands unless you have no other way to defend yourself. If the attacker cheats why shouldn't you.

It's nothing to do with politics or being israeli. If it was I wouldn't have done it to begin with. I bought that first 6 set DVD when it first came out. I even thought it was a pretty good system at first. Until I started trying to implement it. I realised, even in a controlled environment of a club it was impractical. Out on the streets it's stupid. What I dislike about it is that the people who teach it give a false sense of security to people who don't know any better.

You arrogant prat. I happen to be in my 40s and know more about Applegate than you obviously think. I've been in the martial arts for over 30 years and have done enough research. Not to mention my instructor's been around for much longer and knows a heck of a lot more.

Just because 'some' of Applegate's stuff is in there doesn't make it any good. 'Some' of any martial art is in almost any art out there.

Not only did I train in KM, I trained with some of their best from israel, so don;t make assumptions just because you think it's the best.

KM is one of the worst systems there is. Good for getting you killed. The only combat the cowardly israeli army knows is shooting from a distance.

I reckon you have probably done a few lesons in KM and didnt like the fact that it was so productive and easy to learn, you probably spent your whole life studying a specific martial art and sparred with a p2 or p3 person and got your arse kicked to the floor, thats why you hate it.

You'd love to believe that, wouldn't you. Fact is I never knock anything for nothing. I've done many different arts and, there are some which are worse than KM. The only time I've ever had my arse kicked was when I was 16 and that was oly within 6 months of my training. Never happened again after that.

I don't know Noah, but the first guy seems to have a resemblance to yanilov but I can't be certain. The hair seems to be yanilov's but when I trained with him he was older than in the video, obviously.

KM from IKMF has saved my life 6 times that I know of.

My 5 year old son has been receiving his own training for 1 year now.

My wife off course trains KM.

Do not allow the ones you love to be the pray of anyone.

Instead show them the respect and trust of leaving some of the security responsibility with themselves.

I can only recommend IKMF to all peaceful people who do not leave the responsibility of their personal safety with others.

Depends on the individual - I saw an elderly and well known Kung Fu practioner demonstrate a weapons form. He to was slow and poorly co-ordinated. I thought he was going to drop the weapons on a couple of occassions. Its the effects of age and neural decay you see- not evidence of a poor practioner.

Absolute BS. He doesn't incapacite the ability of the knife when blocking. The guy can still rotate the blade and thus cut. If it's a "stabber" yes, you have a chance but a guy who knows how to really handle a knife (i.e. trained and practised) no chance. This unarmed defense only works against the braindead. Best option is to run like hell and not in a straight line. Even SWAT miss running targets and will attest to how difficult it is to hit a target moving at random

this is just one technique, not all of Krav Maga. Run like hell is exactly the 1st thing Krav Maga teaches.WHat imi Shows is the smart one dealing a knive. Block and " strike " right away, instead try to muscle the knive.
