The origin of PCness, civil rights & an end white Christian male hegemony was from post-trauma shock of the Holocaust taken place after WWII. What it did to America, Europe & globally is to make us stop being racist, brought an end to colonialism & made the world reject dictatorship. The USA never had the kind of antisemitism to turn violent, but racism against blacks/ African Americans in the South at the time was appealing and was rightfully ended.
