@mcr314:CCNA haven't a clue about the network? Dude, the only thing I can say is that judging an entire exam track based on a 2 minute film is your first mistake. We enter loopback interfaces in the routing process for testing and labbing purposes.
Respond to this video... Making a video that states OSPF in 60 seconds is not a video I would take seriously. Cisco exams are the best training ever existing for Networking individuals and will always remain the best. I have met many people in the field for over 10 years that still do not understand spanning tree basics, and need a subnetting calculator.
no, the wildcast mask is very important for ospf, route summerization depends on it for efficiency otherwise different areas would be pointless, if a border router cant summerize the routes, there really is no point.....
You know you don't have to work out the wildcard mask for ospf. you could have just put 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0 area 0. The network command just selects which interface ospf will be running on and that it!
for the "CCNA" all backbones have to be in Area 0, but why is the loopback in that area?
This video reinforces for me that CCNA's haven't a clue about the network, other than what the CCNA test says. How about a reason for this?

@milo223 so what does de ip have to do with the interface at all?
respectxtimes777 1 year ago
@respectxtimes777
The ip allows you to select multiple interfaces at a time but its not necessary for most cases. Really it just leads to confusion.

1:48 + the 60 sec wildcard mask
